Knowing that you are in a dream sometimes isn't that easy. Yes there are some things that pop out like in a children's book. Papers that you know that were lost long time ago back at camp, wearing pink, flannel pyjamas in the library with white and pink bunny slippers, Or the old woman sitting at the table at the end of the tables' row. She was an old woman that lived in a hut near San Diego. Vivian's father used to visit her from time to time, she gave Vivian delicious cupcakes. But the old woman died a year before Vivian went to the camp, so it was impossible that the woman was sitting there unless it was a dream or Vivian had suddenly died in the library without any kind of announcement.

She sighed and remembered how she got to the library and most important why she was there, what she was persuing. She wanted to get some revange from the gods. She had always been a good roman, fought well and protected her fellow legionaries, still the gods kept turning away from her, still they weren't listening to her prayers or corresponding to the many offerings she had done since she got to the Legion. She hated them all! But why so much hate, some would think... well She only asked the gods to keep the ones she loved safe and sound, but each of them had died.

Her first love, an innocent one with a kid of 11 years while she was 9. Killed by a creature. Then in the legion, she fell for an Ares guy, they were happy together, always together, he even taught her some fighting moves that only Ares kids and the first Cohort knew! They were a perfect couple, but then in the Mt.Othrys war, he got severly injured and Felicity ended up killing him with her army of greek corpses. And accident some said, for Vivian, Felicity was a murderer. Then after his heart was shattered, Vivian finally met other guy, strong willed guy, Levi was his name. Cupid made them fall in love and she, even when she was afraid of falling in love again, she felt complete when Levi was with her... a month ago, Levi left camp to accomplish a mission, vivian prayed everyday at Mars temple for him, but the allmighty god didn't care for her prayers, the group was found lifeless, parts of them in fact. SHe didn't know if Levie was among them or not, but she had been told he was and that he was dead.

After that day, she secluded in her apartment, she wanted to die too, then a voice in her head told her to do something, to be active, that if she died like that no one would avenge Levi's life! So she decided to do it, do something. She had being spending her days and almost nights in the library. there must be something in those ancient books and papyrus! Something that helped her to kill each one of those petulant gods! But being all that time in the library, not eating well, not sleeping well... well that for sure had a fee to be charged. Vivian ended up falling asleep on the books she was reading and when she opened her eyes again, she was wearing his pyjamas, saw that old lady in the back and well, everything was kind of... bizarre.

Vivian Lopez. Not the most likely target for Saturn’s interest, as she wasn’t in a high position, was not particularly influential or anything like that. But sometimes that was the best. Make a mountain out of a molehill. Take someone no one would think of as a threat and make an atomic bomb out of them. It was a beautiful, gloriously disastrously orchestrated symphony of destruction. No one ever expected the quiet ones to do anything. The good ones. The promising ones. He had gone after those gifts in all the people he chose to run the front line of every single attempt to regain power. Caius. Adolf. Luke. And now his latest batch of semi-divine people. Turning children against their parents was almost a hobby of his. Heck, what else was he supposed to do locked up in Tartarus? At least, demigod and legacy children turned against the gods. Because, quite frankly, his children and their brood needed an attitude adjustment. And by attitude adjustment, he usually meant dethroning and pitching into Tartarus in his place.

But for now, he decided to try his luck in New Rome. The soldier kids were doing fine enough, but the people here had already been through everything that those children had and then some. These were the experienced, the veterans, the world-worn. These were the ones that he needed. The young and freshly trained were all well and good, but he needed intelligence as well. And well, a child of the victory goddess would he handy too. So enter Vivian Lopez. Experience. Done. Education. Good. Family ties. Got it. And, from what he’d seen in his observations, apparent dislike for the world at large. Done and done. Perfect.

The library. An interesting place to be sure. Such a store of knowledge these Romans had. It was wonderful. In a formal suit and tie, shoes polished and hair managed as best he could with as little as he had, he strolled the aisles of the library in her dream. As that was the only way he could visit this place. At least for now. Felicity was seeing to that one. Soon he would own this place. But for now, a walk through an imaginary version of New Rome’s library would have to do. She was easy to spot. The pink pajamas sort of gave her away as the dreamer here. And he noted the bunny slippers as well, but decided to leave that one be. After all, had he not just recently gotten inside the head of a portal who was dreaming he was swimming in a suit made out of bacon? Humans and half-humans had odd imaginations. Then again, that was what made them so beautifully useful. So he approached the girl with a warm smile that he usually put on for those who hadn’t met him yet. Well, and for his allies as well, save possibly Discordia, who was one of the few who knew his true ways. But this young lady need not know just who and what she was dealing with. Not yet. “Why hello there. Vivian, I do believe?”

Vivian sighed and shook her head, looking back at the book she was reading. Sometimes when you fell asleep right after reading something, your subconcient alerts you about stuff that while being awake weren't capable to see or notice. Maybe while sleeping she could check if there were some notes, maybe a forgotten old paper telling how to kill a god! But there was nothing, just lines and lines of nothing! it seems that she fell asleep and couldn't remember anything she just read. "great... then I better go and check other books that I do remember..." She said and then closed the book really angry.

The voice of a man scared her. If it was her dream, then why a strange man was talking to her? She looked at the man and realized that she didn't know him at all. She had never seen him in her life, yet, she knew she had felt his presence in the past, but when and where? She studied him, he was perfectly dressed for a charity party or for a funeral, who knew. He was old, still she could feel a powerful being right there. Would he be a god? would they already know what she was thinking of doing? Then why he was waiting? why wasn't he killing her on the spot?!

She nodded slowly in the man's direction, she wasn't sure what to really think of him. "yes, I am... who are you?" she asked in the most flat and dry way! no manners at all! it wasn't natural in her to be like that, it was just that she wasn't herself lately, the last remanesence of humanity she had, died when Levi died on that mission. It was a pity this god decided to meet her by that moment, if he had cared before, then he would have met a sweet young woman, with hopes and life inside her heart. She got up from the table and grabbed the books she had on the table, then she walked to the shelves where you put the books you had stopped using.

"if you are a god... then you have no business here..." she said as she walked to other shelf and started checking the books and the titles. but all of them were blurry. "oh come on!!... not even the ones I read this morning?!" she punched the shelf and some books fell to the ground.

She was an angry one, wasn’t she? He was rather happy not to be a book at this point in time. Seemed a rather dangerous profession when Vivian Lopez was around. Yes, he knew her. Or at least, to some degree. He had heard word of her from a very reliable source and had spent some time, oh, monitoring her so to speak. At least, to some degree or another, her thoughts. And that was what mattered, right? It wasn’t the action that counted so much as it was the intent. He watched her calmly as she closed the book she’d been looking at. Closing being a very mild term for what she was doing. The way she was handling it, one would think it had personally insulted her. Ah well. He wasn’t here to sympathize with brainless books. So he spoke up.

Her reaction was perfect. Fear. Yes, fear was good. Even if it was only at being startled. It was a good start all the same. Fear bred respect. And respect was what he demanded from all. Those who did not give it willingly, paid dearly. It seemed Vivian owed him nothing then. For now. “Well then, it’s good to meet you finally. I’ve heard great things.” Who are you? That was the question of the hour, now wasn’t it? To reveal who he was or not to. Best to see what sort of situation he was in first. See what sort of reaction she likely would have. Usually a safe bet. “Who I am is of little importance.” Yeah right. He might be biased, but he considered himself a pretty important figure. King of the Titans. You know, sort of a big deal. Then again, that could just be him. He liked to think it wasn’t.

Well, that and her way of talking was not helping his desire to be open with the girl. If she was going to not be in the least bit respectful about it, then he had no reason to give her the same courtesy. Well, except that he wanted her on his side. Which was the only reason he wasn’t using his newfound power to turn this lovely little library dream world – who dreamed of a library anyway? – into a nightmare. And mostly ignoring him so she could search through books? That was certainly a mark against her. No one ignored Saturn. At her comment, though, he smirked. At least they agreed on something. “My dear, if anyone has a monopoly on hating the gods, it is the one you are talking to presently. I agree that they have no place here, nor anywhere for that matter. Which is why I have come to you. You seem to actually know what you’re talking about, unlike many of the little god-loving fools that roam this place.” Now the key was to gauge her response. If she responded favorably, sure, she could know who she was talking to. If not, then this was a figment of her imagination. He’d done it a hundred times, with mortal, demigod, and legacy alike, all over the world. It was something of a hobby for him, messing with people’s minds. Only this time it was getting results. Yes, he supposed he could thank the gods for spawning such a hate filled generation here in the Roman camp. So beautiful to behold. And so easy to manipulate. Though this one seemed a bit on the violent side, he had to admit. Nothing a little elbow grease couldn’t turn to the right cause though. He stood by passively as she punched books. Yes, definitely not a good day to be a book here.

The books on the ground made a weird sound in her mind, she shook her head and then walked to another shelf, there must be something in there that could help her to kill each of the gods. Then she heard the voice of the old man again. She sighed and shook his head, how was it possible that this stupid god hadn't either killed her or gone from her mind already?! He said he was glad to meet her, that he had heard awesome things about her, well she didn't know what he could have heard. Since the moment that William had died, she had changed, she became a crying woman, a pityful roman.

"great things... sure man... whatever..." she said and walked back to the table that she had been using. The books she had there weren't there anymore, she looked around and it seemed that the books from all the shelves were already gone. As she started to think in William, the entire library was changing, the people in there was vanishing too. "no... no..." She felt a heavy stone on her chest in that moment, she put her hand on her chest and she didn't feel the pyjama, but her armor. She looked down and she saw she was wearing her battle armor, she was covered in blood and mud and there were corpses everywhere.

She had heard the old man's voice once more and she breathed deeply. He really didn't seem to be a god lover. She could feel the hate coming from him directed right to the gods. So who was that guy? Why did he feel so much hate against them? did he lost a lover too, or maybe his family... She looked at him and frowned slightly. "it seems that they really hurt you..." Her voice softened a bit, just a bit, but with that she was allowing that man to tell her his story and also she was allowing him to ask about her past, her pain, her sorrow.

"I do hate the gods..." she said and then looked around again, she saw so many known faces for her, her friends from when she was a camper, and over them the body of william. "they had always taken from me what it gave life to my heart..." she also saw the body of her childhood friend and the body of Levi, all of them on the ground, lifeless and covered in their own blood. "I even prayed... I begged them for the safety of one that brought me to life... but they... they went silent once more..." she looked at the old man, her eyes were red due the tears. "and I'm not the only one, there are several campers that their lives had being destroyed because of those childish gods!" her voice went to a high pitch tone. She didn't care this... whoever he was saw her pain and rage.

Saturn knew this was a gamble with Vivian Lopez. She was a wild card, a loose canon with a lot of potential though. Which brought him here. He shrugged as she brushed off his attempted compliment. Flattery didn’t work on everyone, and he already knew this one would be a hard nut to crack. “You were once a fighter. I’m here to help you not give up on yourself.” Which was true enough. What use was a soldier who had given up trying. Though what caught him off guard was the sudden shifting of her dream. Things started disappearing, people going away, and the whole mood of the dream shifted to more of a nightmare. And for the first time, he could not claim responsibility. He just stood by and watched with raised eyebrows. Her reaction was what made it though. Obviously she didn’t much like the change herself. So who was driving it? Or what? Her own imagination? Her memories? Many campers still thought about Orthys (he was rather proud to say). Perhaps this was her version.

It seemed they hurt him? He almost laughed. That was an understatement. He decided to chance it. “Yes, child, they did hurt me. They stole my power from me, my very body. Took everything. Turned me into the thing of nightmares instead of a thing of hope that I once was. But I’m going to take that back. And I need your help. That’s why I’m here. I’m no figment of your imagination or a pesky god, Vivian. I am a Titan. The Titan.”

He looked around at the scene she was taking in as well, but his attention shifted back to her as she spoke of more personal things. So that was why she was so angry with the gods. Good. It built character. At least, in his hopeful army it did. But he put on a look of pity instead. “They take what they want and care not for the consequences. That is why they must be stopped.” He came up to her as best he could given the crowded surroundings and placed a hand on her shoulder. “They never listen. It’s time to accept they only care about themselves. But I care. I will help you. All of those who have been hurt by the gods, I wish to help. But I need your help as well. Together, we can retaliate for this wrong done to you. Together. Are you with me, Vivian?” The moment of truth. But with all the anger and hurt in her at this moment, he didn’t see how a few well placed words couldn’t do the job. He had practice with this. And to be honest, she did need help. He did feel a little bad for her, which was unusual for him to actually care. She had gone through a lot at the hands of the gods. And they had abandoned her. Time to show what real immortal support looked like.

It was difficult to believe on a guy that popped into her dream, she said he wanted to help her, that he knew her. Well he was right, she was a warrior and in a way she had given up long time ago. She only wanted revange, a warrior wanted a just fight, but she wasn't one anymore, she felt more like a mercenary, someone that wouldn't care what it have to do to get the so desired revange. She only wanted a chance to get it, a chance to kill all of those stupid and hypocrit gods!

So when he told her who he really was, why he was there, she frowned at him and scoffed, then shook her head slowly smiling in the most bittered way. "perfect!... All mighty Saturn!" she said and walked away from him, then after only three steps she looked back at him. "Well it was your war the reason my Michael died... now you ask me to join you?!" she said with hate in her words, she shook her head a bit more and then smiled a bit more too, he smile wasn't happy, but sour, sad and getting close to insanity. How was it possible that someone like her that once had been willing to give her life for camp, for New rome, for the gods, would be so changed?!

The bodies vanished from the landscape, only the rivers of blood remained in the image. "listen... I'm not a fool... I do know who you are, what you did. Why the gods did that to you..." she said and breathed deeply, she didn't care if he killed her right there, she had lost that kind of fear long time ago. She only wanted to have a chance to make the gods suffer, to kill at least one of them before going to Tartarus herself. "How you led those stupid campers to believe on you and betray the gods. All of them had the same thing in mind, that if they followed the army of Saturn then they would be free and they would never had to suffer again... well they are now in Tartarus for sure..." She said and shook her head, now slowerly and her eyes changed a bit, showing pain, sorrow and a bit of insanity.

"you want me to be part of your beloved army..." she said and thought for a moment. She didn't believe on him, she knew he was the evil one and she knew that the gods would never allow him to win, not if they knew... "you kind of need me on your side... you know, maybe the gods got the real Victoria, but you can get a piece of her power... I'm daughter of hers, you know?" her voice was now relaxed and soft, she was sad knowing that if she accepted to be with the Titan, then she would never see Michael or Levi again in the after life, but then... if the gods knew she was looking for a way to kill them, she wouldn't be able either.

"I'll be with you... by your side, and I will do whatever it take to acomplish this task... but you must swear on the River Styx, that you will kill all of them! each of the gods should die..." a couple of tears rolled her cheeks as she stretched out her hand to shake his.

Well, this was going well. And by well he meant not good at all. He was afraid of something like this happening. He should have seen it coming. Should have looked into her life a little further. That was always a risk in trying to recruit people. That’s why he needed ones like Rhia, who sought out the people herself and did the dirty work herself. None of this getting blamed for the war that technically had actually been his fault anyway. Details. The point was, he had almost gotten to his body and his revenge that time. And it was going to come a cost. And if Michael or whoever he was was part of that, then he obviously had picked the wrong side and that was not Saturn’s fault. But it was obvious this girl hated him for it. Well, that was her choice. He knew he had hurt people, but in the grand scheme of things, he was working towards a better world. For him at least. So it was worth it.

So Saturn merely stood his ground and let her get her bitterness out. Let it all out. Or heck, go warn the others that the great Saturn is returning. Let them prepare for a war they would surely lose. Because he was coming back, with or without this girl. He would like to have luck on his side, but if she chose not to, he would just as easily kill her so the other side didn’t have her. “Yes, that is what I asked,” he said calmly like he was merely commenting on the weather. And then went back to letting her have her say. Not a fool. That was to be determined still, depending on what she did with her new information. She knew who he was and what had happened to him. Well, good, chalk one up for knowing her history at least. Good for her. And here came the recent history lesson. Lovely. At least the girl paid attention it seemed. “For the record,” he said in the same calm tone, “the worst they could receive would be the Fields of Punishment. Tartarus is reserved for monsters and immortals like myself. Kindly do not get them confused.”

There was something changing about her though. She wasn’t so much yelling at him anymore as just possibly trying to get all her emotions out, and out they were coming. He could see it in her eyes. She’d been hurt, yes, but it had also hit her in other areas too. Like possibly her mental stability. The girl looked slightly off her rocker. Which could be used to his advantage though. Take them where you could find them. And if someone seemed to have simply dropped a crazy little depressed demigod on his lap, he’d pick her up. Make her feel a tad bit more at home possibly, if she cooperated. Make her feel good about herself again. There were such wonderful things you could do with simple words. Ensnare the mind, change it to what you wanted. Anything. And these children at this camp, along with the handful of mortals he was messing up, were proof of that.

He didn’t bother answering her question. If it even was a question. Let her stew things over, which she did appear to at least be doing. Her words made him smile though. He made sure it was a pleasant enough smile, and not the sarcastic one he was wearing in his own mind. He needed her? Did she really think that? No, he could easily defeat her if need arose. Killing people didn’t bother him. And he already had a handful of people on his side. So he didn’t really need anyone. At least, as soon as he got his body back, he wouldn’t need a thing. Besides that weapon. But that still required the help of the telkines and a blood sacrifice. Details. But sure, let the girl think he needed her. He could not deny that having her on his side would be handy, yes, but perhaps not necessary. That wasn’t to say he wasn’t going to try. So he humored her. “Yes, I do know of your heritage. Why do you think I have come to you specifically. I rarely do this for anyone.” Which was true. He mostly just messed with their heads and left instead of showing himself at all. Insert a thought here, a suggestion there. It worked nicely most of the time. But not when he needed recruits.

The shift in mood and allegiance did catch him off guard though. That was a bit unexpected. Swear on the Styx to kill them? Each of the gods should die? What happened to ‘oh, my boyfriend died and I don’t like you now’? Not that he was complaining. He smiled coldly. “Well, technically speaking, gods can’t die. But I do swear on the Styx to do everything within my power to make them suffer from here on to eternity.” With that, he took her hand and shook it.
