It was a given that every demigod around here had ADHD. Edmund supposed it was just one of the pre-requisets for being a demigod. A markable trait in all of them: their ADHD and their dyslexia. ADHD to stay alive as a demigod (although it had done nothing but get him in trouble at school) and dyslexia so they could read Latin. They could all apparently understand it and could be fluent in it too. Edmund had no idea he was bilingual and in all honesty, hadn't tried. Since when had anyone seen flat out Latin written places? He remembered whenever he had tried to read the board at school, it would all swirl around and then disappear before coming back: all jumbled. How he wrote and later vaguely understood his notebook of things he made would remain somewhat unknown. If his English skills were bad, his penmanship was next to atrocious. Heck, sometimes even he couldn't understand it.
Edmund gave a slight shrug. "Nah, the raptor is a lot like Metal Bird, so I didn't have to entirely reinvent it." All he had to do was remember the basic computer brain of Metal Bird, make a bigger/slightly more furious frame, and then make it less sing-y, and more screech/pre-hisotric sounding-y... which was the part that he needed some input on. The Land Before Time didn't exactly give the raptor noises that Petrie made since they all talked regularly. In fact, he was probably just barely scratching the surface of automations. Metal Bird and Raptor were basics. Quite amateur in the grand scheme of all the other automations that were probably out there. He was quite sure that the other forgers around here had years of experience and had come out with better things than him. One day he'd get there... maybe. Until then, he was content with the new challenge of just beginning to explore automations. He'd move on to bigger and better when and if he felt like it. Right now, he kind of liked making toys. Besides that he missed them, it was just a change from all the weapons and items related to fighting that he was usually asked to make.
He thought it was rather fun: making the automations figure out what they could and couldn't do. Granted, they were just wires and computer chips, but computer chips and technology could get smart. Metal Bird had been able to pick up not only voice recognition, but after a while, had found a way to mimic it. It was much more interesting watching the raptor try to figure out it's abilities (like flying) rather than give it direct knowledge that told it to fly in the first place. Loop holes and problems? Sure, but that was why he made prototypes. Metal Bird had three. He nodded to her explanation. "Fair enough." He turned around to one of the bins that already had a couple of pre-made spikes. "Ferocious enough teeth for you?" he asked, holding them out for her to see.OOC: Love these two o.o
