For a second josh wasn't paying attention to them, he went back to Remus' office, the last conversation he had with their praetor, how they seemed to be friends now, then his mind went to the moment he met Rhia, she was so cute but with such a bad mood and attitude at everything! They were such enemies back then, but little by little both of them got into the heart of the other... which had him in that odd position. Being with Ethan and Lyn, acting as if everything would be just fine and knowing that Saturn was going to try to get that thing no matter at what cost.
Suddenly he looked back at Ethan and Lyn when Ethan told Lyn they would protect her and even called her princess. Josh smiled and nodded at her. Ethan was right even when they were playing, Ethan and Josh would defend Lyn with their lives if it was necessary. "Sir Ethan is right, we will always be your knights slash jesters, princess Lyn" he did a bow at her and then winked at her. He then continued walking, didn't even need to look to the directions, they were already in his mind.
Then after a moment Lyn took a bear from her bag and said that she hadn't packed it. "are you sure Lyn?" he asked and smiled at her, maybe she just forgot about it, because if she didn't forget it, then he would have to destroy the bear, he didn't want it to be a trap or something worse for innocent Lyn. "maybe you just put it in your bag and don't remember it"
Ethan grinned as Lyn seemed to enjoy him ruffling her hair. She was adorable really. Like the perfect little sister. And a hug to boot! Smiling ear to ear, he hugged her back and watched as she promptly trotted about. It was hard not to smile. And to worry a little bit. If anything happened to her on this trip, he wouldn’t forgive himself. He was determined to be there for her.
He tapped his chin with his finger. “Doesn’t like sweet things? Has he ever even tried it? Because I don’t know how you can’t get addicted, speaking from personal experience. I do not hide my addiction to sugar. Though thankfully I have a high metabolism or I’d look like the Pillsbury Doughboy probably. Jason always gets on my case about it still.” He laughed. Ah, good times. As the topic changed to her luckiness, he made a thoughtful face and nodded. “Well, if Remus told you, that’s something for sure.” He was kind of neutral when it came to Remus, seeing as the guy scared him half to death. He just had that look about him that he could crush your skull and not blink about it. Ethan just hid his nerves under a goofy smile. As usual. Though really, if the mega-Roman machine was a friend of Jason’s, how bad could he be? There was that to consider.
As they walked, he gave them all wonderful entertainment at least in the form of humming a few stanzas from various of his favorite Disney songs. He’d given up singing, as that a) sort of stood out in their attempt to go unnoticed here and b) he got a nice memory vision of Jason’s manager scowling at him as he usually did way back when, which promptly reminded him that not everyone in the world for some strange reason liked his singing.
Somehow he had gotten into the music from that one version of Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp in it (he really wanted to go to that weirded out Wonderland) I his tune humming when Lyn spoke up. He stopped humming and looked to her. “That’s odd. Well, can’t be such a bad thing, right? Who doesn’t like a teddy bear.” He assumed the thing was hers. If it wasn’t, that might be a bit spooky or something. So to settle his nerves, he decided to ask. “I take it it’s yours thought, right? I mean, where else would it have come from… right?”
Lyndis was preoccupied with the bear, it was soft and really nice. People didn't normally get her things, and she didn't normally get things for herself except food, so it was a bit different. She remembered that girl in the infirmary and all the stuffed animals she had, and then Gunnar liked getting her presents. Other than that she wasn't even sure where a stuffed animal would come from. Remus certainly didn't seem the type to get her something like this, a smile flew across her face puffing up her cheeks in her wide grin. Remus in a store full of stuffed animals, it was kinda funny to thing about. She wasn't sure why, but he didn't seem the type to like cute fluffy things, and she could say the same about Charlie or Prometheus. She couldn't help imagine the scene though, all three of them in a store full of stuffed animals. The boys voices drew her out of the little imaginary world she had created, and she looked up at them again from the teddy bear. "Hmm? Oh, I don't know. I don't have any teddy bear things. I just hug them in the infirmary when I'm trying to get treatment stuffs."
Turning the bear over she noticed a seem in the back and pulled at it. The back opened up to revel green paper with pictures on it and one of those phone things Gunnar had shown her how to use once. Pulling the single piece of white paper out she looked at it. "In case of emergencies? What's this?" She started looking through the things inside of the bear, pulling out a stack of hundreds and a few ambrosia squares, and of course the cellphone and battery. Separated for safety reasons. Staring at them a moment before putting everything back inside neatly she closed the bear up. "Okay, so emergencies only." she said with a pout. "We won't need help. Right!" she liked the stuffed bear, but some how felt like she was being overly cared for. This was her quest, she was chosen for it, that meant she should be able to handle it without outside help. She'll take the help of her team members, but that's because that's what they were all there for. To help each other.
Reaching into her bag again she pulled out her water and put the bear back into her back. "I'll help take care of everyone! No outside help allowed!" she said adamantly thrusting her water bottle into the air before opening it and taking a drink. She was stubborn, and tried to be independent. She loved the people who tried to help her out, but this was a big kid quest. They were chosen, and not other people. There was no doubt in her mind that these five people could take care of anything and everything. She held onto her drink, still frowning a bit.
Josh looked at Ethan when he talked about his sugar rush and he couldn't help himself, he laughed. He remembered several time when his brother and him had gotten in some small problems because that addiction. Still all of them were funny and he would repeat them several times only to have fun with his brother. "Sugar is one of the best inventions of the gods!" he said and started humming the same song his brother was singing, Josh's voice wasn't made for singing, well that was what he thought, so he rather not sing, but he could hum or even whistle.
Then about the bear he breathed deeply and looked at ethan then back at Lyn. He didn't trust things that just popped out in the bags of his quest mates, but Ethan had a point, teddy bears were good, were nice. But he remembered several mortal stories where teddy bear hid weird mortal things. Then Lyn saw the seem on the back. "be careful when you open it Lyn." he trusted that her mother would keep her safe if she opened it, besides, he didn't want to seem a paranoic guy. She took the stuff from the inside and Josh thought that all of them were innocent and were meant only to help her in the quest. So he decided she could keep it, if he had seen anything out of safety range, then he would have taken it away from her in that single moment.
He smiled when she said in such a stubborn way that she would do it on her own. "you're right, we can do it on our own and we won't need help, but who knows..." his voice turned serious, so his face. "maybe we would have to order a pizza because our high methabolism! and only your phone will be able to save us!" he then smiled widely and winked at her. He wanted her to feel safe and fine, not that the little girl needed it, but he just wanted her to know that she was safe with Ethan and him or... that they were safe with her. "come on, let's continue, we're almost there. Ethan, Lyn pay attention when we get there, remember Edmund and Felicity will meet us there."
Ethan looked over as she started pulling things out of the teddy bear like some sort of super spy gadget or something. “Well, that’s different. Not much good for hugging I imagine.” It was useful stuff though, he had to admit. Even if the money was for the wrong country. They had to accept dollars somewhere around here, right? Besides at exchange places and McDonalds. Maybe not even McDonalds. Oh, this was going to take some getting used to. Speaking of McDonalds, he could go for some right about now. But that was a matter for another time. After all, he’s packed Cheetos! So he was all set for a while. Except the sticky fingers part. Insert Mercury kid joke here.
He grinned at Josh. “Right you are. Then again, we could always just walk in. Maybe sit down even. That would be kind of nice. I don’t fancy fighting and eating my pizza at the same time, necessity though it may be.” Getting through the quest on their own power was sounding pretty good though. Proving themselves. Yes, that was Ethan’s goal.
“Yeeeep,” he said unceremoniously in response to Josh’s instructions. It wasn’t that he didn’t care, more that he liked the idea of being his own person for a change, and that included sorting things out on his own. But this was no time to get frustrated, especially not with people he had just started the quest with. Details.

That bright smile returned to the small child’s face, along with a heavy nod of the head rippling pretty much through her body and down to her toes. Lyndis was never one for small subtle movements, even in her fighting she made use of her over abundance of energy. It'd probably balance out one day, but for now she was just getting reprimanded about her movements when in practice. They normally told her to save her energy, but the only time she'd ever run out was that two day long drill with Charlie. That was special and she wouldn't trade it for the world, but it was super hard. Then she made sure to not stop practicing even after, even when she wanted nothing more than to sleep for hours and hours the day after, she made sure to keep going. She didn't know when she'd be able to get sleep on the quest to it was like training for her to make sure she could do it. Then the day before the quest was when she made sure to get sleep. Even if she was hyper excited, she made sure to get sleep and rest the day before.
"Pizza is the greasy thing with meat and vegetables on top right? It's really good! But I get sick after eating it..." her entire life she lived on fresh food, which sometimes did have a healthy set of fat on it, but not often. Fat was also nowhere near the same as eating something with grease literally pooled on top of it, which happened to be the kind that Lyndis had tried. Her tiny body was not used to it in the slightest, and didn't have the ability to digest it. While normally she did love to branch out and try all the new types of food people brought to her attention, for the quest she didn't want to be sick. Maybe after the quest she could try it again. She was always willing to try something more than once.
They were almost there? That was good, and made Lyndis excited. Once they all got back together they could all get moving on the real quest. She could fight along side Edmund, and they would have camp fires, and sit around telling stories before falling asleep. It was going to be great. She thought a moment, did she had marshmallows? No...no she did not. She should have thought of those sooner, but they might have gotten squished in her bag. They would probably still be good after being flattened, but not as good as when they were fluffy. She liked them when they were super burnt too. "I'm paying attention! Kinda...a little...." attention might not have been the right word, but she knew if she saw Edmund she'd know it. Even when she wasn't looking for him if he came too far into her field of vision she was at his side in a second. That was just how she was, and while it wasn't as strong with other people she could probably spot Charlie, Remus, Prometheus, Jason, maybe not Gunnar since she could never spot him, but the whole family was easy to see. At least for her they were.
Josh was hungry and for a second he cursed mentally his Mercury heritage, but it was only because he was always hungry, maybe that was the only thing that he didn't trained with Rhia, how to control his hunger. His high methabolism was making him be hungry so fast! he knew that soon he would have to eat at least a bag of marshmallows or pop-tarts to get enough sugar to continue. Well he'll deal with that later.
He looked at Ethan and smiled. he was right, although they were sons of the god of speed and commerce and thieves, that didn't mean that they should be able to have a seat while the grab a bite, right? "of course we will have a seat and eat!" then he looked at Lyn and he frowned a bit. how was it possible that someone got sick with such a delicious dish like pizza! that was something close to blasfemy! He looked at Lyn. "well maybe we could order a vegie pizza with low fat cheese." he had heard those were less greasy and maybe those wouldn't hurt Lyn's stomach. in a quest you didn't have the chance to get sick and well treated before a monster attacked you.
After some minutes they got to the cathedral and he smiled, at least he had gotten them there without injuries without creatures, only them having fun, well it wasn't his doing, it was Lyn's luck, for sure. "we're here guys, so let's look for them and we will be able to continue our journey."
