Nothing. Yeah, sure it was nothing. Just like the sky isn't blue, and Saturn isn't a big clot pole. If you couldn't tell that was hard core sarcasm. But fine, Jason could take a hint. Rhia was up for story time and probably wasn't up for his company. She wanted alone time, which made no sense to him. Sure, her boyfriend was on the quest, but did that really mean she had to shut everyone out like they had all acquired the beubonic plaque? It wasn't exactly fair in Jasons mind, after all, he considered Rhia a good friend of his. In the past he might have considered something more there but it was only fleeting, his feelings for Clare were too strong, too obvious to him. He couldn't switch paths just because he found a girl attractive, he wouldn't do that to Rhia, besides, he like that he helped set Rhia up with Josh. He was proud of him playing cupid in that instance. Those two made a cute couple. So, even with Josh gallivanting around Europe with the other quest members he had hoped that Rhia might seek him out more as a friend. Obviously that didn't happen. It was partially his fault, he had pretty much locked himself away in the principia upon his job promotion, he suppose he could also be blamed for shutting people out.
He sighed at her idea. Be with a friend, well he was trying. As for a drink, well, it was illegal and he wasn't a son of Mercury who found joy in breaking the rules. Also, Jason wasn't a big fan of the stuff. Sure, it was fun every now and then, but he had matured a lot within the past year and was being good for his position and his Clare Bear. As for the last question, no, not even Jason could get by with breaking the rules. "No, to that question. I don't get away with breaking rules, if anything I have to follow them more strictly now." He studied her face as it looked at him. The distraught look seemed to have melted away but there was still one obvious sign about her. Her eyes were red where they should have been white. Jason frowned. "I am spending time with a friend, someone I like Rhia. Don't you get that? If I didn't want to be with you I could have left. You are my friend, ever since day one. Why else do you think I annoy you Princess?" Jason said with a hint of a mischievous smirk, hoping to lighten up the depressing cloud hanging above them.
