Clare was more than happy to be learning more about the handsome healer. Jason had such an interesting person. Going from an orphanage to the stage. What a story! And, so it sounded, with a similarly mythically bound sidekick. She hoped she could learn more about when he was younger sometime. But for now, she listened to what he had to say. And it was kind of sad to think that he at one point thought his best friend dead. She tried to imagine what that would be like and immediately decided it was best not to try. Far too sad. “What happened?” she asked just before he mentioned not talking about sad things. Oh, right. “Oh, sorry, you don’t have to answer that. You’re right. We’re having too much fun here to want to dwell on sad things.” Another time maybe. She had to admit she was curious.

She returned his smile at his modesty. Wasn’t he sweet? “Okay, so maybe they had a bit more experience since they were older, but still. I bet you were the absolute best of your age. I wish I could have seen you act. And no, you don’t strike me as the fame seeking type. You’re far too nice for that.” Her eyes brightened when he described the movies he was in. “Romance and adventure! How fun! Ooh, I bet it was a lot of fun to act in those! And I bet you were simply adorable when you were little. You’re so handsome now, how could you not be?” She made a mental note to look for some of his old movies. If he didn’t mind of course.

Though when he mentioned the movie he was in, she grinned brightly and actually laughed a little at the memories. Not at him of course. She’d better clarify that one. “Really? I loved that movie! I always used to tell my mom about how I wished I was the girl in that movie so I could play with all the cool gadgets and hang with Max.” She couldn’t help but blush a little. Okay, so she’d had a bit of a crush on Mazwell Ace as a little girl, which was ironic because now she had a crush on the guy who had played him. Life was funny like that.

She gave him a guilty smile at his comment and made another mental note to try to be happier around him. It was good to see him so happy too. Plus, being happy was so much more fun. For both of them! She finished off her salad and downed the rest of her water so she wouldn’t keep him waiting very long. “Wait, sack lunch? You need more than that, Jason!” She made a mental note (again… she was gaining a whole mental post-it pad!) to maybe make him something and bring him lunch some time. That would be fun! Maybe she would pack lunch for both of them and they could have a picnic. Was that okay since they weren’t even officially dating at the moment? She rather hoped so. He seemed the type who would be okay with it though. “So! I know you’re not supposed to really swim right after eating but I’m open for it any time. Or maybe we can go for a walk to settle our stomachs if you like. You’re the doctor here. What’s most advisable?” she asked with a hint of a smile. Oh, this was going to be so much fun!

She sure was curious, Jason had to admit that. That wasn't a problem for him, it wasn't like he had some secret that he had to make sure no one ever found out. Heck, most of the time if you wanted to know the basics about him you could just check out his wikipedia page. Granted, instead of saying that he was now at a camp for kids who are descended from the Roman Gods it says that he is at boarding school finishing up his studies and has yet to determine if he will or will not go back to an acting career. That last part was true. Jason did not know what to do after the legion. He smiled at Clare. "I'll be sure to tell you another time. I promise, just not now."

At all the compliments Jasons smile grew wider and his cheeks got redder. Sure, he had handled fans giving him compliments before but this was Clare, this just felt different. He laughed. "So, I'm handsome?" Jason said with a teasing tone, just trying to pick on her a little. "Well thank you. Your quite beautiful as well Clare. I mean that, not just in looks but in personality." He said while he looked at her. She really did make him want to improve as a person and not be the stuck up flirt that he was before. Starting from now on there would only be one girl who will hold his attention, Clare Fontaine. "You know, I think I have some of my old films in the storage unit somewhere in Hollywood. I can let you borrow them if you are really curious about how I looked back then. You just have to promise not to laugh." Jason said with a joking smile.

He raised an eyebrow when she laughed. Did she think it was a terrible movie? He hoped not. Once she clarified it was now Jasons turn to laugh, and blush. "I'm sure you would have been a great co-star. We obviously have great chemistry already." Wow, did Jason really say that? Was she going to think it awkward? He better to clear that up, well make it not sound so weird. "I just mean that we get along so well it seems." Jason said with a nervous laugh following.

Jason shrugged and gave her a simple smile. "The infirmary requires a lot of attention. I simply don't have time to go and eat a full meal." He stated a bit sadly. He smiled when she asked which he would prefer since he was a doctor. Technically he wasn't a real doctor. He didn't have a license or anything. He was just really good at what doctors do. Going through med school would be a breeze for him, hey theres an idea for what to do after the legion. "The doctor in me says to settle our stomachs, but the teenager in me says lets go. I think my teenager side if winning." Jason said with excitement. Oh, he was so looking forward to this.

Clare gave him an apologetic look. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to pry. Only tell me if you feel comfortable, okay?” After all, they’d only just met and here she was asking about his private life before camp. She mentally scolded herself. This was not the way to start off a… well, a whatever this was turning into, because she wasn’t really sure about how he felt about it. But she knew at least she would not argue the idea of dating Jason Kyoto. She’d never given it any thought before, even with how well known he was around camp. That sort of thing just wasn’t a big deal to her really. But now that she was spending time with him, she really saw the value in at least being friends with him if nothing else.

And his blush was adorable. She couldn’t help but smile. His own smile was just so contagious too. “Of course you are!” she said as though there really was no question about it. Which, in her mind, there wasn’t. His tone was so fun too, like joking was a normal thing for him. Yes, Clare definitely hoped they could keeping being whatever it was that they were after this. At his words, though, she felt her own cheeks get warm. “Thanks, Jason. That’s really sweet of you.” Unfortunately, the promising not to laugh didn’t go so well. Mostly because she thought the idea of her even being tempted to laugh at a young Jason seemed so ludicrous. “I won’t laugh, I promise. I bet you looked great then too and did an excellent job. So yeah, I would like to borrow them sometime. I mean, either that of I guess I can just go to the rental shop sometime, huh? Don’t want to make you go out of your way. I mean, isn’t Hollywood pretty far from here. At least, harder to get to than simply going downtown. I’ll just go to the rental store, no problem at all.”

Her? A co-star in one of his movies. “Oh no, I’m not good at acting.” Which, now that she thought about it, she wasn’t really sure if that was true or not. She’d never really tried. Though a thought came to her and she had to laugh. “Though I guess with the training here, neither of us would need stunt doubles, huh?” When he said that they already had good chemistry, she smiled, as well as blushed. Mostly because she couldn’t agree more. Aw, and his laugh sounded so nervous too, she felt a bit bad for making him for uncomfortable. So she reached over and gave his hand a quick squeeze. Whether or not that was okay for a first date or whatever this officially was, she did it anyway. “No, I agree totally. We seem to be quite the pair.” She gave him a reassuring smile.

Which was followed by her shaking her head. No full meals? That wasn’t good. Yes, she would definitely have to bring him something sometime. “Well, at least breakfast and dinner maybe? You don’t want to work yourself to exhaustion.” She smiled, determined and a more than a bit stubborn. “So then! What would you like me to bring you? I’m not half bad a cook either, so if you don’t like the mess hall selection I can probably fix something to order.” At least, she hoped. She had no idea what sort of things he liked, after all. She smiled at his talking about his opposing sides. That couldn’t be an easy mental battle. “Well, then, I say we listen to the teenager side. If we get sick for it, no harm in laying out in the grass and watching the stars or something like that, right?” She got up from her seat. “I’m going to go change then. What about if I meet you at the lake in five minutes?”

Jason glanced at Clare before giving a subtle nod. He knew she meant no harm by it, but it was just a bit too soon for him to give her his life story. It wasn't that he wasn't comfortable with it, was he? Heck, he didn't even know. It just made him feel a tad awkward. Oh, you're some famous celebrity with a pity beginning story, how sad. That was how Jason feared he would be seen. He wouldn't like that. He didn't think his beginning was a pity, or pathetic. Sometimes he wished he had even stayed at the orphanage, but that was a story for another day. After their complimenting of each other Jason couldn't help but continue to smile. He shrugged. "Whatever is easiest for you. Once my service here is done I'll have to go grab them all and just have a movie night in celebration." Jason said with a slight laugh. He hoped that watching movies of himself didn't make him look narcissistic or egotistic, he was just trying to be funny.

He raised an eyebrow. Had she even tried acting before? How do you know if you are bad at something if you have never done it? "Oh, I bet you're not terrible. Not perfect either, but not terrible." Jason said in a teasing tone. He thought about what she said with a smile on his face. "True, or, we could always be stunt doubles. Theres an idea." He nodded in agreement to her response. They really were quite a pair. Perhaps he should ask her out, but this was the first time they have even met. He didn't want to appear awkward or forward, at least not to Clare.

"Well, yeah, when I get the time. May not be at normal times but I try to fit in all three meals. Granted, they might be snack sized but still, three meals a day." Jason said. Okay, so he was probably not showing good nutritional health from someone who was suppose to be a great medic, but he was a busy man. He shook his head with a smile. "I'm sure anything you make, I will love it." He really didn't have a favorite food, besides, he was serious. As long as it was made by Clare he was pretty confident he would enjoy it.

He stood up from his chair. "Exactly! That seems like a great backup plan." He nodded. "Sounds like a plan. I can't wait." Jason said with a smile. He should probably change too, mainly because he didn't want water to get on his suit. Normally, that is, if he was dressed normally, and he was going on a spur of the moment swim he would just strip down to his boxers. This time he thought it would be more appropriate to change into swim trunks, plus that suit couldn't afford to get wet either.

Clare gave him an apologetic look. It wasn’t such a good idea to start off on the wrong foot and she hoped he didn’t think that of her. He did seem the type of person she really wanted to get to know better, after all. Though when he mentioned his idea of a celebration, she had to laugh. Not that it was a bad idea at all. Actually, she though it was a rather brilliant one. A full blown movie night. “Ooh, can I come? I’ll bring popcorn. If it’s alright with you of course. I mean, it’s your end of service celebration.” She had to smile a little when he showed some confidence in her abilities to act. “Well, I guess I’ve never really tried. It looks hard, though. And I bet you’d be a hundred times better than me easily. I mean, you’ve had so much practice. But thanks.” She laughed at his idea. That actually did sound fun now that he mentioned it. “Putting our training to good use!
I like that idea! Though I bet people would want you back behind the camera as a regular.” Plus it might mean spending more time with Jason, which she was definitely okay with.

She pondered the idea of bringing him food. Him only getting time for three little snack meals just wasn’t enough. He needed warm, filling food. He certainly worked hard enough for it! Well, at least he was taking the time to eat something, she supposed. That was better than some people she’d seen here who simply didn’t care about things like lunch. That wasn’t right. So it was good to hear that Jason was a little smarter about it. Still, she couldn’t help but blush when he said that he would love anything she mad. He was so sweet! It made her want to work extra hard to make something simply perfect for him. What that would be, she still wasn’t sure though. Which made it a bit harder but she would work with it.

Standing up, she grinned right back. “I can’t wait either! No matter which plan we go with! They both sound nice. Hey, maybe we can even do both!” She grinned at the idea. Oh, this was going to be such a fun night. She hurried back to her barrack, ignoring the people she passed. This was much more important. Spending time with Jason wasgetting pretty up there in the importance list. Which was weird since they only just met, but she wasn’t complaining. She got to her barrack and quickly changed into her swimsuit, grabbing a towel and flip flops. Much more comfortable than heals. Though she couldn’t argue that wearing a dress was fun too on occasion. And she had to admit that she hoped it and her had left a good first impression with Jason. She couldn’t deny that she wanted him to like her. And from what she could tell, it was going fairly well. After all, he hadn’t ditched her yet, had he? And he seemed happy. Or maybe that was just his personality. All the same, she loved it and couldn’t wait to go for a swim. So she all but ran to the lake, which was a fair distance off in New Rome, but that was what training was for, right?.

Jasons smile widened. Of course Clare could come. Actually, he would have been a little disappointed if the daughter of Neptune didn't show up. He had only just thought of the idea for her to see his films. Maybe a tad egotistic of him but hey, a movie is a movie. Plus it would make for an intersting date. Which he had to wonder, would this count as a date? They were thrown together, no one asked the other out. Jason needed to do that soon, ask Clare out. He was enjoying his time with her and if he started to think of her with someone else he soon felt jealous, which was a slightly new feelings for the son of Apollo. "I would be more disappointed if you didn't show up." Jason said with a slight laugh, followed by another charismatic smile and slight shrug at her next statement. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go back into acting. Still, he had time to think about it.

"Possibly." Jason said with a slight smile still on his face. Honestly, he woudln't mind doing both but he didn't want her to get int trouble for staying out too late. He would have felt bad. As Clare headed to her barracks Jason jogged to his and stripped out of his suit and into his swim trunks followed by a pair of sandals. He grabbed a towel as he headed out the barracks and to the lake.

He arrived there a few minutes before Clare, which wored otu for him. He had dashed from the event to his barracks and then to the lake. Thanks to this heavy dinner he was a little winded. He was able to calm his breathing to a normal pace when he saw her appear. Any hope of lowering his heart rate was dmiminshed. She looked awmazing, not to say she didn't look amazing before either, this caused his heart rate to go back to racing, much like it had been doing while he was running. Actually, Clare looked better not all dolled up for some formal event. She had that natural beauty about her and she seemed more carefree than she was when she was wearing heels. Jason smiled at her. "Hey again." Jasom managed to get out. Needless to say his tongue was caught. It was easier to be more carefree at the event because there had been more people there. Now it was just him and Clare. It had been awhile since he had been this nervous, hopefully his acting skills would cover it up okay.
