Felicity looked at him sadly as if there was nothing that could be done to potential rememdey the situation they were in. How could they? This was a goddess they were talking about, they were nothing compared to them. They took whatever they wanted without caring about who it would impact, most immortal were like that, from what she had meant. True, there was the few number she did get along really well with, Apollo being one. She would like to think Orcus, but part of her was wary that the only reason they ended up becoming so close was because she was technically married to him. She looked down at his hand holding hers as he talked. Then, her eyes narrowed.

To say it was her would be a lie. It was Laverna. Could you blame her? The young idiot son of Mars had just insulted her after all. This Laverna woman.. that was no way to address a goddess, especially not in her presence. She took her hand back quickly. "Yes well, what if I don't want you to fight back. Haven't I waited long enough after all? What, you're hmmm. twenty something? You have plenty of time to find someone else. Orcus has waited hundreds of your twenty years to be with his special someone. I knew that the quality of Romans have diminished over the years but I thought there were still some willing to help the gods. Seems I was wrong, shame. After all, from her memories it seemed that you were the devoted one to the gods, actually was the cause of some little disagreement about Saturn?" Laverna, who has managed to take contol of the situation at the moment, let out a small laugh and gave a smirk that seemed too out of place on Felicitys face. With the two of them in a constant battle like this inside of Felicity it was just a matter of time to see who would come out on top.

That sad look in her eyes killed him. He wanted to just hold her, comfort her, somehow make everything alright. It was his job to protect her. A job he did willingly. He loved her. He needed her. He held her hand like it was glass; like he didn’t want to break it by holding too tightly. But also with the mindset that you could break glass if it fell from your grip. He wasn’t going to let her break.

The n there was that moment. He saw the click. The change. It was startling to say the least. It happened so fast. She narrowed her eyes and pulled her hand free and suddenly he could see it in her eyes that he was the enemy. That, had Laverna been in full goddess shape, he would be smited right now. Pile of ash. At first, he was hesitant. How do you deal with your fiancé who is also a goddess, just not all the time? Oh, and the goddess is married and doesn’t like you. All in all, it was confusing. Then she spoke.

It was basically like she’s smacked him in the face. Multiple times. His fists clenched at his sides as he listened to her snide remarks. “You dare question my loyalty to the gods?” His eyes glistened with threat. “Since I’m obviously not talking to Felicity Weingarten at the moment, I bid you think real, real hard. Look in her memory. I’ve gotten royally pissed in her presence a few times. I’m not proud of it, but it happened. Now I want you to look at those instances real careful, okay? You sure you want to deal with that? Because you know I won’t hurt you, seeing as that would do physical harm to me fiancé. But ooooh, I could make your husband’s life a twisted burning hell. Now don’t get me wrong, I like the guy. Considered him a friend. But seeing as you’re willing to stoop that low, well, quid pro quo, dearie. I’m honoring a goddess. Her name is Nemesis. Perhaps you know her. Mess up my happy ending, and I will mess up yours. Quid. Pro. Quo. I might have time to find happiness, but I don’t want it if it isn’t Felicity. So I’ll take out all my Mars-born rage on this new endeavor. How? Oh, I’ll find a way. I always find a way. Just ask Felicity. I’m very resourceful. And like I said, Nemesis needs honoring too. So what’s it going to be? Have your precious god wait a touch longer, or have him writhing in mental agony until I draw my last breath? Oh, and while he’s living with his wife now, I’ll be sure to inform him that it was you who chose that unpleasantness for him. Poor guy. Sees nothing but punishment and burning in Hell all the time, only to learn his own wife doesn’t want him to have any reprieve.” He let out a long breath. “Poor guy.”
