“Don't worry Lilith, would there really be demi-gods of Mors if he wasn't a good guy sometimes?” Lance said with a small smile. He wasn't sure why Lilith was so concerned about her grandfather, or why she thought he was evil. He felt something was off, and somewhere he felt like she may be misinterpreting something. He shrugged it off, not wanting to bother anyone with weird thoughts and feelings.
Lance wobbled under the pressure of a hand on his head, his head tottering as his hair was ruffled back and forth. He was not exactly the kind to have any kind of solid grounding, but he almost never fell. He supposed that his strength was weak but he had pretty good balance. Lance listened to the man in front of him describe the training that would be involved, and he smiled. Not the kind of flirty happy smile he normally gave, or the confused smile, this was one of determination. He was going to try his hardest, and achieve results. That was the look on his face, and one could see the Mercury like mischievous nature that came with a challenge.
“Let me use my fists, I....well I can train with knives, but....well...I might not always have weapons. There...there is also maybe my weapon is knocked away. So....so I should...um...be able to adapt it....later.” Lance said attempting to voice his concerns, and thoughts without them being too jumbled. It was sometimes an annoying thing when the mind worked quicker than the mouth, and simply moved on. He looked up at Levi when he called Lance a friend and his happy go lucky smile spread from ear to ear. He had a friend. “Th...then you can talk to me. I might not always....be...well...helpful, bu...but talking sometimes help.” he said hoping he could be leaned on just a little, Lance was always eager to help anyone and everyone. He was going to have to take Levi up on the offer to hang out, maybe next time he had spare time when not doing drills or learning latin he would be able to do something normal.
Sitting on the ground next to Levi, Lance stared up into the tree. As Levi suggested he took a deep breath of cool fresh air. The cold of winter slowing giving way to a warm spring, even the flowers had begun to bloom. Lance was pretty sure it was going to frost again, but who was he to tell nature or the gods when flowers needed to bloom? “S..sorry. I'll try.” he said blushing, it wasn't exactly helping his confidence when even other people gave him advise, but it was nice to know Levi cared. Lance was happy that despite his lack of communication with the people around, he had been right to believe they had goodness in them.
Lance smiled at Lilith, he was going to have two training buddies and it seemed like Levi was going to be more of a teacher than a training buddy. It seemed about right. “We'll be in your care then Levi.” Lance said, managing to utter an entire sentence without stuttering or other wise messing up his speech.
