For someone like Josh, feeling what he was feeling in that moment was weird and unknown. He was used to flirt, none of the things that he said to the girls were real, well maybe the ones where he told them that they were pretty, but not the ones where he told them that he really liked them, not the ones where he replied at their questions about if he loved them, in an affirmative way. But now when he looked at Rhia, all the things that he had said, all what he had felt was real and was perfect!

Usually if he were hanging out with Rhia, he wouldn't have cared if he was all covered in mud and sweat, in fact he had done it like that thousands of times before. but that day was special, that day she had been braver than he would have ever been and had poured her heart to him. thank the gods he felt the same, he would have hated himself if he would have hurt her in such way. but the gods were wise, well most of them, so they knew Rhia and Josh needed to be together to be their other halves.

When she agreed that he needed a shower, he smiled widely and nodded. "let me go and get a quick shower, ok? I'll be back in 15 minutes." he winked at her and kissed her sweet lips once more. He felt the warmth, her perfume, a stripe of hair rubbing his cheek. He smiled and then pulled back. "don't go away ok?" he smiled and then ran to the camp, he ran at Mercury's children's speed, he didn't want her to wait for him longer than 15 minutes and even that rate of time was too much!

He got inot the baths and got a quick shower, then he got dressed there, he didn't put on the common uniform of the legion, he was on a date with the most beautiful girl in camp, so he wanted her to be proud of the guy that was going to be with her! He put on some cologne, that he had never used, his step mom gave it to him on his last birthday, but he didn't think he would ever wear it! He walked out and less than 15 minutes later he was walking to the Lake.

"Well...?" he smiled at Rhia and winked. "I think that now this humble thief is ready to walk along New Rome with the most beautiful charmed witch, my witch." he said and then shurgged getting some blush on his cheeks again, his heart beating fast and his mind telling him that he was the luckiest guy o Earth. "where would you like to go?"

Josh stole another quick kiss before leaving Rhiannon standing at the lake, a little ball of fluffy white fur stood near by. A snort escaped his muzzle as he rolled his eyes, and walked back up to the girl who was still in the same exact place with the same goofy looking smile on her face. The fox bumped into her leg nearly knocking her down before leaving. When she called he simply turned to give a shake of his head and a smirk. It was as if he were laughing at how ridiculous the two had been, saying they were not good enough for each other. Rhiannon's feet were planted, as Inek left her alone to wait for her new boyfriend to come back.

Rhiannon watched as he ran just as fast as he could to the showers, she could not help but laugh. He really did seem the most excited she had ever seen him. Covering her mouth as she laughed, her fingers lingered over her lips even after as the memory of her first kiss persisted in her mind. The lips she had watched often in an attempt to get languages better had rested on her own, the simple thought kept blood in her face. She wondered if he could help teach her any more languages, or if she'd not be able to concentrate as she once had.

The wind tousled her hair, and the warm sun shone down on her sleeveless shoulders. Her skin was still a bit pale no matter the time she spent outside working on her shield and sword techniques. The scars from her attempt at two weapon fighting were healed up pretty nicely, and it had been a surprise to some of the medics that they were so shallow. It had looked almost as if she got in a sight with a shredder and lost, but none were deep at all. They all healed quickly, and left nothing for scars after the medical campers got done with her.

Her poor heart made her think time had been both cut short, and drawn out far too long. She smiled as she saw Josh walking back toward her, a cute, awkward little smile. She was sure he had been as quick as possible in his change, but it seemed like it had been forever, yet it also seemed like he only just left. Rhiannon had no idea what to think about her sense of time, other than it was way off. Her heart skipped in side her chest, and butterflies churned her stomach as she watched Josh walk up to her. She had been used to him wearing normal clothes once in a while, but it seemed he had also dressed up. When he got close enough, and the wind caught it just right she could smell something sweet from him. It was nowhere near the same stuff she had on, but much more manly but still sweet. It suited him, and the red rose of her blood blossomed across her face. “You look good Josh, really good.”

She took his hand in hers and played with his fingers. “I'm just happy being with you, did you want to walk around and just...I guess look to see if there was.....anything?” she looked up into his mischievous blue eyes, they seem so playful and happy today though. His eyes where not normally the things that betrayed him, but today must have been something special.

As soon as josh walked back, he could feel how his heart was beating fast inside his chest, He looked down just to check that it hadn't ripped his skin and muscle and it hadn't fell to the ground rolling to where rhia was waiting for him. He smiled when he saw his heart was still inside, he could not just feel it but see it moving his chest, but well, as long as it stood inside, everything would be just fine. He smiled at her and looked at her again. She looked so beautiful in that dress! how could he have been so blind! He looked the real love outside and he got it right in front of his eyes.

He knew why, he had never wanted to put her in any risk, he wanted so much better for her, but knowing that she really loved him, had made him very happy. he knew that maybe his life didn't worth a penny, yet he would try to be a better man, for her. he got closer to her and a soft warm breeze ruffled his still wet hair and her beautiful curls. "well thank you...* he half bowed at her and then smiled widely. She told him she would be happy only being with him, so he nodded and smiled widely.

"ok, then..." he thought for a moment and looked at the City, it was close to where they were. Maybe Rhia would love to see the real rome, but that would put her in risk, taking her out would mean creatures after them, he could handle that, but then what if someone knew about that in the Camp, she would be in troubles then. Zidane would understand, but Remus... robo Remus would really get upset... well as close as that Automat could feel something. He breathed deeply and smiled.

"Well, I've heard there is a very good Pizza restaurant in New Rome, we could go there and have some... I promise I'll pay for it, this time." he winks at her and starts walking with her hand in his. People looked at them, some campers giggled and pointed at them. Josh glared at them and decided he would take something from their trunks that night. or maybe put some peroxide in their shampoo bottles... who knew. Then he looked at Rhia and smiled once more.

Rhiannon attempted to still the flutter of her heart, tried being the operative word here. His hair was still damp, and unlike normal he didn't just smell of soap. She wondered if guys had a type of perfume also, they had to since Josh smelled of of moss and citrus. It was not strong, but very subtle and seemed so manly on him. She knew of cologne, who in camp had not smelled the overly zealous campers with cologne, but Josh's scent was not displeasing like the cologne had been. Her fingers laced through his, the warmth of his skin directly against hers. It enveloped her hand, the soft force of his knuckles pressing against her fingers. She searched for every sensation, trying to commit it to her memory permanently. This moment she felt like she had conquered a deadly fear, something even scarier than the monsters she fought. It was a new found, not quite respect but something close to it, for Venus and her children.

“Haha, always have food on your mind I see. Sounds good, I haven't been able to eat much the past couple days.” she had been nervous before, the centurions and praetors had made sure to instill a slight fear early on. She was not immune, but she was rebellious enough to try and not care. The past week, after she had made the final decision to tell Josh her feelings, she felt a kind of nerve wracking emotion she had never felt before. It was not quite fear, though it could probably be described as that. It was gone, completely gone, to be replaced by a new stomach fluttering emotion. Exaltation. It showed in her face, a goofy smile and the inability to take her eyes off him. No one else mattered at this moment. She had to look ahead, had to make sure she did not trip or bump into anything. She already felt like a fool because she could not stop smiling, nothing needed to be added on.

Familiar sound of giggling girls fell on deaf ears, Rhiannon had learned long ago not to bother with such people. The only person who's laughter she cared about in this moment was Josh's. She didn't want him to think her a fool, but other than that it was not her problem for acting like an idiot. For a moment it seemed as if Josh cared, the annoyance flashed like lightning in his eyes. His eyes turned back towards her, and that smile of his returned to his face. Rhiannon blushed when her eyes met his, and her smile crept back across her face again. It had fallen for a moment with the look in Josh's eyes, but now he was looking at her again. “Don't worry about it, we're going to be goofy. It's inevitable.”

Josh didn't mind to act goofy, he mided that people around them that acted like that more than half of their lives, were now critizicing them! what if they were acting like that? they had all the right! He then looked at Rhia and smiled at her. "I know... " smiles and held her hand, he lifted a bit and kissed it gently. He didn't care how much people talked about them, he had never cared about the rumors, he wouldn't start in that moment, unless it hurt Rhia. "ok, Miss Warlow, please come with me to the Piazza, the new place" he said and starting walking with Rhia.

He looked from time to time at her, as if he was just mesmerized by her or maybe as if he thought that it was a dream and feared that she would vanish in a moment and the face of his centurion just popped in front of him Yelling at him, telling him how much of a dissappointment he was not only for the fifth cohort, but also to the Camp! But it wasn't that, it was the truth. Rhia was there with him in that moment!! he could remember the moments they had spent together. Since they were kids, always together at first not really liking each other's company, then being best friends and sometimes even partners in crime.

"Definetely I'll make some good offerings to some gods... I must thank them for rhia's love and company..." He thought as they walked together. New Rome was a beautiful city, but that day it was a special gleam all over it, as if it was reflecting the magnificence of Olympys itself or maybe it was just that for Josh that day everything looked much better and brighter. "you'll see this place is supossed to be the best in New Rome, Pizzas and all kind of real roman food." he smiled and then looked at her.

She was right, he always thought of food, it was something he couldn't really change, but what maybe she didn't know what that even before they realize about their feelings, he always thought of her before anything, even before food and mischief. and in that moment he wasn't really thinking about food, but the chance to spend some time with her away from all the camper mood, spending some time together as a real couple, not just as friends but much more than that, friends in a different level, a level that he would respect over all things.

they walked down a street and at the end of it they saw the new place. Piazza. "well we're here..." smiled and walked with her into the nice restaurant. Several demigods were working in there, specially some Baccus sons and daughters. Soon they got a place by a window, where the wind would blow gently and make that warm day much more pleasent.

She could not help but be acutely aware of every time Josh's eyes came to rest on her. Blood would rush to her cheeks, causing them to become a rosy pink color. It only accented her make up, it seemed as if the Venus kids who did her make up say this coming. It seemed like they knew she would not be able to keep the red from her cheeks and kept any blush to a minimum. Rhiannon had no idea she would be this happy today, that she would be able to walk hand in hand with Josh through New Rome. It certainly never occurred to her that she would even want to have this kind of happiness. She had come to the legion casting aside all human contact. She hated them, distrusted them, and it had gotten her into plenty of trouble the first couple years. Josh was one of the people she had disliked, at least at first. She could not trust people, not after she had seen the so called friends she had leave her. Josh was a goof ball, and she never really noticed when she actually started to care when he got hurt. She didn't notice when was it she started to warn him, and scold him when he got into trouble. It could not be traced back to any one incident, it was something that happened over time. It took a long time, and she actually learned to trust him. She let him have her back in the battle only a few years ago, something she did not trust to many people. Even Zidane she could trust a bit, that she could remember clearly why.

It had to do with that terrible fight again. The battle that snuffed out so many lives, these two crazy Mercury boys put so much on the line to save the other campers. It was there that Rhiannon realized you have only see a person for who they really are, and can find who you really are, in a battle like that. When your life depends on it. She didn't like what she saw in a lot of people, including herself. She didn't want to save people, didn't want others to risk their lives to save people. Yet she did. Without a second thought she would move her shield, or her sword, to protect those around her. It left her open at times, and she got some injuries. How many of them still ended up getting themselves killed despite her body moving involuntarily? Rhiannon's mind had fallen into a sad place, and her heart had slowed as it grew cold. It was stupid to try and protect people if they can't protect themselves.

Her grip tightened slightly and she looked up into Josh's eyes. He was here, he could protect himself better than any one she knew. He just had a problem protecting other people. It was bound to get himself killed one day with that idiotic belief, but he wouldn't be the same without it. Rhiannon loved that part about him, and it was what made her trust him so much in the first place. She smiled up at him “Lead the way.” She didn't care about the past or the future right now, Josh was here with her. She knew he would be here with her as long as he was allowed, and she would do the same.

“Roman food? That should be interesting, but isn't pizza an American thing? Or are they making the real thing started in Italy? What kinds of Roman food? Do you mean Italian food, or legitimate what they served in Rome back when it was...well...the most powerful.” Rhiannon was asking questions out of nervousness. She didn't know much of what to do, so she was slightly trying to fill in what she felt needed to be. It wasn't silent, no where near because of the always bustling streets, but she felt like it was only the two of them. The loud people near by meant nothing to her, and she hardly noticed them at all.
