New Rome was as it always was. Beautiful, magnificent and... boring! People in there were romans, yes! but almos all of them had forgotten what was to be a warrior, all of them liked more the politics, or studied a lot, or went to concerts, but they put the warrior in them well kept in the safety of the back of their minds and souls. They deserve to do that, they had already spent their 10 years of service in the camp, some of them had survived amazing battles and wars, so they deserved some time of peace. Still it wasn't good that they had such peaceful lives... was it?

One of those people was a young woman, her name was Vivian López. Demigoddess that had finished her years of service, she lived in New Rome and studied at the Academy. She lived an almost normal life, peaceful and she trained from time to time only to get some steam off her head. But she liked the peaceful life she had. Even her frozen heart was being melted little by little by Levi's amazing and romantic actions. Life was good to her in that moment, it seemed tat the gods were blessing her in that moment, but you never knew when they could curse you again.

That day she put on some common jeans and a nice blue blouse, also some combat boots which contrasted the delicate blouse she was wearing. Fashion had never been her strong skill. but she had never cared about it before. She walked down the street where her apartment was located. She was going to the Camp's forest, she needed to find an old friend there. He was a shy faun, but he had one of the most amazing and beautiful music in the whole camp. She had an idea for a song, she wasn't a musician at all, but she wanted to give Levi a cool gift, so she thought a song would be a good one and Tumnus was the right faun to ask for help in those matters.

She saw the Pomerian Line and Terminus standing right there. she had left her sword at home, she didn't want him to take it away from her and it wasn't good to have your sword on New Rome's streets. She kept walking and before she had to be inspected by Terminus, she saw that her friend, Tumnus had just crossed the Line. She smiled widely and waved at the faun. "Tumnus!" she yelled at him and smiled again walking to where he was.

Tumnus had on his normal red scarf and nothing else. Now don't be alarmed, he is a faun so his little butt and lower half is covered with a good amount of fur to be able to pass as shaggy pants. His black hooves were polished too. He was a decent looking faun if you had to ask. Today he was meeting one of his few friends. That was weird enough in itself. He was such a shy and timid faun, most people just ignored him. Plus it didn't help that most of his brothers were flirty useless fauns. He was one of the very few exceptions. Perhaps that's why he had such a gorgeous fiance. He loved his little Sakura. She was a gorgeous tree, one of the rarest in America too. Who would have planted a cherry blossom tree in camp anyways? It was out of the element of camp, yet there was one and Tumnus had won her heart. He was one lucky faun.

Anyways, today he was heading into the demigod camp. He was scared and some people have noticed as they stepped into the little pebbles he had been dropping. He hated demigods, they were all mean to him. Well, not all. One of the few demigod friends he had was Vivian. It helped that she wasn't in the legion anymore. He didn't have to worry about her charging with her cohort at him. Perhaps that's why they got along so well. Or she caught him at a good time and thus a friendship was born.

As Tumnus finished getting expected by Terminus, which wasn't hard considering he was only wearing his signature red scarf. Not many places that were comfortable to hide any weapons. It didn't take long for him to get the all clear to go. However he had to get his lute case checked. After the check he was free to go. He smiled and nodded politely at the statue. Right after he crossed he heard a familiar voice. Of course the sound of anyone screaming his name made him tense up. However, once he recognized the voice he became less tense. He smiled at his approaching friend. "Vi-Vivian. I thought we were meeting in..." Tumnus gulped. "The forest." he whispered, his voice covered in fear.

When Vivian looked at her old friend, she couldn't stop smiling. He was one of the last friends that she had in that place. Not that she didn't know people in new rome and in the camp, it was just that her true friends died back in the Mt.Othrys battle. From the time she was a camper, only tumnus is alive and still her friend, which she finds perfect! She felt she didn't need other friends, she wasn't looking on replacing her old ones. Tumnus knew her, knew her pain after she lost Maya and Gaia in that war, when Felicity's army of corpses finished Michael. Making it short, Tumnus knew her even in her worst moments.

"I know, I'm just late, or too early, I don't know..." she said as she smiled at him. He was right, they had agreed to meet in the forest, but it seemed that fate wanted them to meet there. vivian didn't mater as long as she could talk to her old firiend. Tumnus almost hadn't changed since the last time she saw him. Same shy satyr, she smiled and then shook slowly her head. "I see you haven't changed a bit." she said and kissed his cheek. Maybe not many would have done that, but she wasn't shy and she would show her caring and love to her friends at any moment. She only wished that Sakura didn't get jealous at that action, after all she wasn't interested on him that way, she loved Tumnus as a friend, even maybe as a brother in some ways.

"I'm so glad you could make it!" She said already walking to the forest boarder. "tell me, how have you been? how are things between you and Sakura?" she asked and smiled at him, she loved to know everything about her few friends, she loved that they had good lives, love in them, luck if it was possible too. She looked at him and waited for his replies, she was all talkative and he was really shy, so sometimes she tend to overwhelm him with her rambling talking. Terminus started yelling at a tall guy about trying to sneak a pair of daggers into New Rome, also told him that he had tried in other occasions and that he wouldn't be able to succeed, so he wshould stop doing it. vivian looked back at Terminus and smiled widely at him.

Tumnus smiled a bit. "I-I think early?" He said as he glanced up at the sky. It was hard to tell where the sun was at the moment, there were too many clouds. Maybe they were late with meeting up. He honestly couldn't tell the time with the weather being the way it was. He shuffled his hooves nervously. Tumnus just smiled like a goof. "If I change I might lose you as a friend." He said with a bright red blush covering his furry face at the kiss.

Tumnus wasn't one to have much attention, especially from a demigod. Most demigods just ignored him because they thought he was arrogant and flirty like most of the fauns that wandered around camp and New Rome. However, he was the complete opposite. That didn't stop people from beating him up sometimes though. Luckily ever since he met Sakura his life had made a turn towards the better. Now demigods even come to hear him play in the forum. It was a lovely feeling. He just hoped he didn't actually make a mistake and suddenly become that target for bullies again. He didn't like it. All it did was make him drop goat pellets everywhere, which the demigods didn't appreciate either.

"Well I promised and fauns never go back on their promise." Tumnus said shaking his head nervously. "I've been swell." Tumnus said with a smile. In truth he had. He had been practicing his music more and trying to talk to people more. Then again, the social urge came from Sakura constantly telling him he needed to so that whenever they have their wedding they can actually have guests. It was a comedic thought. Sakura wanted a big extravagant wedding with a lot of decorations. However, after all that work it would be semi humorous if there was no one to attend. He wouldn't do that to his lovely cherry blossom though. "Ah, my lovely little cherry blossom. She is trying to get me to talk to more people. She said I was becoming anti-social. She almost didn't believe me when I told her that I was meeting up with a friend today." Tumnus said as he remembered the scene that had happened not too long ago.

Vivian smiled at Tumnus, he was early that day, he was right. but she loved it that way, then they could start working on the song she had in mind for Levi. She walked with him a few more steps and then looked back at him, when he said that if he changed, maybe she wouldn't be his friend anymore. She sighed and then shook her head. "I don't think that could happen, you would have to give a 180 degrees change and still I would try to find a way to keep your friendship, I really love you as one of my best friends tumnus."

Then they kept walking, the forest was quiet that day, the weather was cool but not enough to make you wear a sweater, just enough to make a walk through the woods to be pleasent. Vivian looked up to the sky and looked how the light passed through the leaves and the branches. "they seem to make some constelations too, right?" she pointed up to the branches above them. Then She looked back to the road and smiled. It wasn't common to see Vivian to be really happy, she always seemed to be happy, but who could look deep into her soul, like a faun friend, would know that she felt sad all the time, remembering to the one she loved and lost in the war under Felicity's hands.

But that day, she was trully happy, she really felt the joy of being alive in her heart and it was because of Levi Faollan. That man had brought a sparkle of hope and love into Vivian's life. Maybe she didn't even know what was going on in her heart, that it was finally getting melted by Levi's actions. But what she knew was that she felt happy when she was around him or if she even just thought abut him. That day, in the forest with her friend, she really felt happy, with Levi in her mind and heart.

She looked at Tumnus when he talked again. "I know, I know you would never break a promise, and that is why I trust you with my life" she smiled and then heard him talk about Cherry Blossom. She was a beautiful Nymph. "Well maybe she is right, there are some good people in the camp, they would never hurt you" she said and kept walking. "send my greeting to her, please" she smiled and then looked around, they were deep in the forest. "Tumnus, I need your help with a song, it is a gift, and I want it to be perfect!"

The bad thing about being a faun was that every time you walked you sounded like a goat walking. Perhaps that was because of the hooves. Tumnus was no exception to the rule. As he walked with Vivian his hooves clopped. At the sound of a sigh Tumnus glanced at his friend. His faun face again being em blazed by the color of blush. "Y-y-y-your too nice to me." The faun stammered. "I do enjoy being your friend though. You are not as mean as all the other demigods." Tumnus said with a shy smile.

Tumnus was thinking as they walked. He had brought with him some tin cans in his little rucksack which also held his flute case. When would the best time be to snack on them? Oh, did Vivian bring a snack? Tumnus was about to ask her that question when she asked him a question. He glanced up at the forest branches. In a way she was right. Although, instead of dots in the sky the branches lines were visible. He enjoyed seeing nature this way. It was a faun thing. Perhaps that was another reason he and the demigod beside him got along so well. "You think just like a faun when it come to nature." Tumnus said with a smile. He pointed towards a grouping of branches. "That one looks like a horse!" He exclaimed. To the naked eye it probably looked like a mess of branches. However, to one in tune with nature they could see the shapes etched in the branches lines.

Tumnus gave a wide grin to Vivian. It was nice to have someone trust in him. Almost no one in the faun community really trusted him or admired him. So having someone was a genuine plus. However, his smile faded into a frown. "Maybe, but I dont know. Sakura has the ability to get along with anyone. Demigods love nymphs, they wouldn't hurt them. They think it is sport to harm fauns. Especially scared ones like me. Plus they are all really powerful. Like that one girl you told me about." He said in reference to Felicity. He knew what heartache Vivian had to endure at that girls hands. Tumnus was shocked to hear that someone was capable of so many murders.

At the mention of a song his eyes lit up. "Ah, well you came to the right person. Though, I must ask. To whom is this a gift to?" Tumnus asked with a teasing smile. He had heard from Sakura that Vivian was seen recently attending the Valentines Day dance with a boy. One that seemed really mean. Of course, Tumnus could just be biased because he was taught that having so many tattoos was a sign of evil. Though, if Vivian trusted herself to be with someone like that then the guy couldn't be all that bad, right?

The forest was so calm, so in peace... maybe it was the only place like that in the camp and in New Rome. being romans they were always in a fight, training, never had a moment to have peace, never felt the right to calm down either, not even when they finished with their service, a really low number tried for a second round of service, only the most brave ones or the ones that didn't have anything left in their life but the camp. There were others that rather go outside and deal with the world out there, and their chances of surviving, must of them were also brave. but the mayority was the ones that stayed in New Rome, tried to live normal lives, but there you weren't allowed to forget that you were Roman and that you must be tough and ready to fight at any moment. so enjoying that moment in the forest was the closest thing to Elysium but still alive.

Vivian smiled when she heard Tumnus hooves, they seem to be high heels, the first and last time she wore something like that was on Valentine's Ball. She still had nice sweet memories from that day. then tumnus said he was glad she was his friend, that he wasn't that bad to him. "Hey!... do you mean I'm bad? at least a little bit?!" she asked in a teassing tone, she didn't really mean to be angry or upset, she was jokig, she knew what he meant and she was proud to be his friend too. They kept walking and he made her one of the best compliments that a faun could make, well at least in Vivian's mind. He told her she had talked like a faun. She smiled at him and nodded. "thank you, i really try to keep nature inside me, I try to work a bit for nature too, so Faun's job isn't that hard."

As a child she traveled a lot on the bike with her father, she saw tons of beautiful places, places that needed to be guarded by not only natural forces but also mortals and demigods. She looked at the point where Tumnus talked about the horse and smiled widely. "now that you mention it... yes. I thought at the beginning that it looked like a goat" she winked at him. They kept walking, but when he mentioned Felicity, vivian stopped and frowned, her smile was lost and she clenched her fists. It wasn't that she was still... in love with Michael, she had accepted his death and now her heart was Levi's, but she still remembered Michael with a warm feeling. Felicity would pay for her crimes, someday... Furies couldn't leave her out of theirs sight, they just couldn't! even if she was daughter of the all mighty Pluto.

"She is... well you remember what I told you about her... But don't worry about her, and she ever hurts you, you just have to tell me... no matter she's daughter of Lord Pluto... she will learn to respect life." she said in a serious and upset tone. Then she sighed and smiled at him again. He had asked who the song was to and her feelings were just shown up wth a wide smile and a slight blush on her tan cheeks. "well... I think Lady Venus or maybe Lord Cupid are allowing me with another chance to love. To defeat this curse and finally be happy with a wonderful man..." she shrugged and giggled. "His name is Levi Faollan, he's son of Lady Venus and grandson of Lord Apollo. He's tough but inside, he's so sweet, such a gentleman!" She said and you could see the happiness in her eyes. "He loves music, and I was thinking that maybe a perfect gift could be a song..." she bit her lower lip. "what do you think?"
