With the sun at its official peak in the sky, there was no more perfect time for Jameson to venture out into the beautiful world. Technically he had already been out and about but training hardly counted. In fact, it hardly counted for anything anymore. He had been around long enough that he was easily the oldest person still participating in training. This essentially meant that there was nothing new for him to learn because he had already learned every last bit of it. Perhaps he would have been able to pick up on some new techniques had his fellow campers been a little more experienced but he couldn't expect that from them. Not everyone stuck around as long as he did and they had plenty of reason for it. Roundabout idea back to the training. It was much too early in the morning, and for someone his age, it was getting almost too taxing. Heck, the only reason he was still able to manage it was because he was even more optimistic and enthusiastic than the next demigod. Jamie had an almost endless supply of energy and that allowed him to still take part in the daily exercises and training of the Camp-but he had a feeling that before he turned thirty, his back would no longer permit such action. A shame because what did they really expect him to do in New Rome? Nothing too fun, obviously.[/size]
Not that Camp was always a bundle of joy but it provided him with more entertainment, if only because he was surrounded by overdramatic, hormonal teenagers. Which was actually quite hilarious though it sometimes did leave him on the outs. After all, what eighteen year old wanted to gossip with the twenty-seven year old? Not too many of them, that was for certain-though he usually did manage to coax information and a friendly chat out of the Venus girls if he took enough time flirting with the eldest ones. He wouldn't call it taking advantage of them really, because the ladies were flirtatious with every semi-attractive male that glanced their way and thus they didn't actually expect anything besides maybe some attention.
Running his fingers through his messy hair, Jamie clumsily stumbled out of his barracks, narrowly tripping over his own long legs. He managed to avoid knocking into some Ares kid or another...or maybe he was Ceres...or Vulcan...He honestly had no clue because he had long since given up trying to be familiar with each and every new, younger camper. The ones who made a point to be friendly with him, he knew, of course, but other than that..it was a half and half chance as to whether or not he would recognize them. Let alone know their name.
With his guitar slung over his back, the man found his way to his intended destination-that being a big tree that towered over furthest bend of the Little Tiber. It wasn't really intelligent or logical for him to climb up the tree, especially with his guitar on his back, but he started scrambling up the tree, getting ten or so feet up before he settled on a limb of the tree that veered off level to the side. He could already tell that if he should fall then his back would never forgive him, but the view was worth it for the moment. Swinging his guitar around to the front of him, he began fiddling with chords and short melodies-never landing on a song, per say, because he wasn't focused enough at the moment to play anything. Though should he want to, he even could have sang along given that there was no one around to see him-at least no one that he could see. Considering that idea, he gave a shot, strumming a few chords of an Ed Sheeran song and singing, in a rather off-key but clearly enthusiastic manner. He only made a verse or two though before his voice cracked as he attempted to match a moderately high note. Oh, how charming. Clearing his throat, he chuckled quietly to himself as he wiggled back and forth on the tree, trying to determine a comfortable position. Maybe one which wouldn't have stray branches or bark that dug into his side.
