To Tartarus or Bust {Saturn}

The darkness that enveloped the brunette suddenly gave way to light as Felicity trampled out of a shadow within a city. She was still in California, she knew that because it wasn't that an exhausting of a shadow trip. Granted, she had just come from the Wal-Mart across the street. Felicity needed out of the camp attire she was in, and she needed to grab some rations, medical supplies, a water bottle, advil, and extra clothes. Her backpack had gained some weight since her departure from Camp Jupiter, but it was necessary. She leaned against the wall of the building she was next to. Maybe if she brought Metal Bird with her he could have at least done surveillance for her, but he was too showy and Felicity had abandoned him in the forge. More than likely the metal contraption had already received the necessary memory wipe she requested Ed to do. Still she felt a bit bad about abandoning her friend like that.

Though, she also felt bad for lying to Remus about her reason for leaving camp. Her mom having cancer? Nope, her mother was perfectly healthy, well as far as Felicity knew. She hadn't received a letter in a year. Maybe her mom finally gave up pretending to have another daughter. It was probably best that Felicity just faded out of that family. She wasn't wanted there anyways. Her mom was happily married with two kids Felicity had never seen. Felicity was just a mistake. Oh well, mistake or not Felicity was at least needed by one person, or at least she thinks she is. That one person being the titan Saturn. He was the reason Felicity had left camp and was where she was. Speaking of which, where exactly was Felicity?

She stood straight and decided to walk down the sidewalk and examine her surroundings, plus she needed to get the slight dizziness she acquired from the sudden shadow travel, stealing, from Walmart. As she continued walking she eyed a tourist trap. More than likely that would be selling stuff with the name of the city embedded on it. As she walked into the touristy store she made a slight wince at the overly cheerful music blaring through the speakers and the ginormous amount of people that had entered into the store. She walked to nearest self. "Los Angeles?" Felicity muttered to herself. Suddenly she was pushed aside by a group of teenage boys who wanted to check out the objects in front of her. Out of reflex Felicity reached to her side, but then she noticed her sword wasn't there. She had left it in an alley before she went into the Wal-Mart. She let out a soft curse in Latin before marching out of the store and backtracking to the alley she first started out in in Los Angeles.

Once she reached the alley she smiled at the sheathed Stygian iron sword and the metal dagger laying side by side, covered slightly by a piece of newspaper. It was risky to just leave it, but Felicity was doing it for the mortals sake. She didn't want to give them a heart attack. Plus, she wasn't worried about them getting stolen. Her father, Pluto, had watched over the wielding of her dark sword and had added a special asset to it where anyone who touched it and wasn't Felicity would be attacked by the sword. She picked up the sword and fasted it to her side and rolled her pants up slightly to strap the dagger onto her leg and rolled the pant leg back over it. Then she leaned against the alleys side, a bit frustrated. "Here I am, all prepared and I don't even know where the heck I'm going. Care to help any Saturn? Can you even hear me?" Felicity called out to nothing before letting out a sigh. She had done some prior studying but had gotten barely anything except that he was locked in Tartarus. Okay, was it even possible for her to get to Tartarus? Also, what did Los Angeles have to do with anything? She didn't specify a place to go but her gut just told her to stop where she did when she had left camp, the place being Los Angeles. Perhaps there was some door or place that could help her out here. Or maybe she was just called to this town, either way it was a bit weird.

Los Angeles. Not his cup of tea, but an interesting place. A place swarming with mortals and monsters alike. And its fair share of gods. Basically the whole underworld gang was centered in this crummy little mortal infestation. In a recording studio for pete’s sake. When he got his body back, he would put them all to shame. Orthys would rise again in all its splendor and glory and he would be there to take its throne. And the more annoying of the gods, such as the big-ego three could take turns holding up the sky for Atlas. Poor guy needed a break after all. He was likely the second worst punishment any Titan got. The first being, of course, in his opinion, his own. Not that he was biased, but come on. Being chopped into little pieces with your own weapon and then tossed into the worst pit of hell? He was pretty sure that counted as Unpleasant.

He thought back to his previous ‘champions’ of the cause of his return. That Adolf boy had been promising, but too caught up in world politics to play his cards right. He was too obsessed with getting at the other demigods of his time to understand that he had been chosen for a much more important task. And to be honest, the other demigods should have been recruited, not fought against. But ah well. Give a man power and there was no telling what he would do with it. Especially not a demigod. And then there was that Luke boy. Slightly more promising, especially considering Saturn actually got to walk around in that instance, but not so anymore. The idiot boy had gone soft and scared and taken his own life in a feat that Saturn had to hand to him was quite something. Not in a good way though, at least not for Saturn. It had sent him back to that stupid pit. And lost him his weapon, which he wasn’t happy about either.

But now he had a new champion. Or rather, several. But the first to join his new team was Felicity, daughter of Pluto, and one of the people in a position of authority in Camp Jupiter. Not bad. Not bad at all. And much more enthusiastic than that idiot Luke had been. Luke had taken months, no years – stupid mortal time – to fully commit. Foolish boy. Felicity, however, was doing swimmingly. Perhaps he should have entrusted females with this stuff sooner. He’d have to change his method though. He was not going to possess a female body. That was just not right. But Felicity had offered to find his body, so it appeared that was not necessary this time.

Speaking of Felicity and her mission, it would appear she was already on it. So he turned his attention to following the familiar trace that was her mind. Which was especially easy now that she was here in Los Angeles nearer to him. Hence why it was so easy to pick out when she addressed him. Either that or she must have taken up talking to rubbish bins, in which case Rhia would have to make a backup plan for this. But he gave his granddaughter the benefit of the doubt and entered into her thoughts with an incorporeal smile. This was going just as planned. “I am here. I will always listen when you call. And of course I will help. I take it you’ve noticed your surroundings already. But perhaps not the significance. The main entrance to the Underworld is here. Located in a recording studio on seventh street in the Hollywood part of town. That’s the main entrance. You’ll find his annoying guard there though. So if you have a better plan for breaking in, go for it.” This was just going too well. Albeit he might lose the girl in the encounter if they both weren’t careful, but it could still be done. It would be a real shame to lose this faithful follower. She had a great mind and a good head on her shoulders and was devoted enough to do just about anything to boot.

The daughter of Pluto wouldn't have been surprised if some innocent passerby thought she had gone insane as she called out to nothing. It was just that Felicity didn't know how else to get Saturns attention, unless she were to fall asleep but it was the middle of the day and Felicity was currently occupying an alleyway. Far from the slight comfort she had in the barracks back at Camp Jupiter. Therefore sleep was not an option at the current moment. Luckily for Felicity she didn't have to question the sleep method because soon enough Saturns voice entered her mind. She smirked slightly. She was always happy to talk to Saturn, probably because he was charismatic and seemed to always say the right things at the right moments.

As Felicity listened intently to Saturn she began to understand why she felt the sudden urge to stop here. It would make sense for the daughter of the god of the Underworld to feel a slight attraction to the place. Granted, Felicity had never really gone into the Underworld. She had no reason to in the past. Pluto had never come to see her, at least not until recently, and she didn't want to impose on him by suddenly appearing in his kingdom, especially not during the fall or winter months when his hippie wife was there. It seriously ticked Felicity off that she never got to know about her maternal side of the family because Pluto decided to be a bit frisky and knock up another mortal. It had taken seventeen years for Felicity to even meet the guy, and he didn't leave a great welcoming impression on her either. Verbally attacking her friends for no apparent reason other than him disliking them was awfully low. Felicity didn't even want to claim relation to him, but she still did partially so she could reap the privileges that she could gain from it. For instance the sword and the fact of knowing she was welcome to visit the Underworld at any time.

"Main entrance to the Underworld..." Felicity mumbled as a grin formed on her face. Why take the main entrance when you can just enter using a far better and less full of dead people way. "I can easily shadow travel into there. No breaking in necessary. Lets just say that right now I am a well-liked daughter who can visit the Underworld at any time because her daddy loves her." Felicity said a bit jokingly. Though, she was allowed to enter the Underworld no problem. Now was the time to take advantage of it.

Though, she had never been there before so she would have to aim for the one place she knew she could shadow travel to pretty easily, Plutos palace. The good thing was was that only the dead guarded the palace, or so it was told in the books, and they had to listen to Felicity just as much as they had to listen to her dad. Felicity fidgeted a little. "I can aim for Plutos palace, but after that I have no idea where I'm going. The books said that your body was probably in Tartarus but..." Felicity knit her eyebrows nervously. "Can I even survive going into Tartarus?" Felicity finished. She didn't want to appear weak to Saturn but she couldn't help but worry about that one fact. He should know she was fully committed to serving him and bring about his body, but she didn't want to kill herself doing it, well not if she couldn't even retrieve the body. If she died getting the body then she would be glad to know she at least accomplished that, but still she was hoping to help out more after. So if there was anyone who should know the survival chances of a field trip to Tartarus it should be the Titan who has been currently calling the place home.

He was so close. With Felicity, he really had a shot at this. Ignore the petty mistakes of the past. No, scratch that. Take the mistakes from the past and learn from them. Felicity was much more devoted than those other pushovers had been. And a big three demigod, which was always a bonus. Especially as what he needed – that was to say, himself – was in the underworld. How very convenient. So he played his usual role of fly on the wall as he tried to take in her surroundings through her own thoughts. Yes, someone coming up on her would be rather unfortunate, she was right. Though it likely wouldn’t amount to anything. There were plenty of homeless people around here who she could be mistaken for, and easily marked off as a crackpot. He decided not to comment on that one, seeing as she hadn’t actually said it. Best to give her the illusion that he wasn’t that far in her head. But the fact of the matter was, he had to be in order to pull this off. This task was not going to be easy.

He could feel the dawning of realization coming over her as he spoke. She was a bright girl, so there was no reason it shouldn’t. This place was hardwired into the usual modern demigod descendent of Pluto or Hades or whatever he felt like going by. He’d had to help Luke out a good deal more because the idiot boy was a child of the even more of an idiot Mercury. Or Hermes rather. Whatever. It was giving him a headache just thinking about the differences. Yes, even Saturn was not one to evade being torn between the two civilizations and his two identities. Kronos, the kinder one, and Saturn, the rougher one. But he did rather like being Roman better. And the Romans in general. At least they had the sense to celebrate all he had done for them in their golden age, even if the gods didn’t like it. Actually, the gods not liking it was kind of a bonus.

“Indeed, a good place to start I’d say.” He could sense her thoughts but decided not to do anything until she said so. It was important to keep her a little oblivious after all. “Well then, I will let you lead the way. You seem to have a good idea about you. And also the favor of the king of the place, that must come in handy.” The favor of Pluto? The whole idea seemed odd, but vaguely doable. And he trusted her to be honest. “Then I will guide you. All you need to do is get in. You shouldn’t even have to approach the pit very much. I wouldn’t have you do that. It’s far too dangerous. But the denizens of the pit will listen to you. I will speak to them.” Which was easy enough as he was already there. So for a moment he broke the contact to ‘speak’ with the spirits of the monsters and other terrible things in the pit and inform them of their visitor and to help her or suffer his wrath. That was usually a good threat, in this place. As they were all immaterial beings in here, his threats were substantial. A moment later, he was figuratively back at Felicity’s side. “They have agreed to help you. When you are ready, my dear. And if I have not said it yet, than your actions here are greatly appreciated. You will be kept safe, you have my word. Let the monsters do the work. They will be at your command. Most of them side with me.” She seemed the type who could command monsters after all. She had done it with an army of undead last summer. Now was the question of if she was mentally ready for the challenge. How far did her loyalty go?

Felicity nodded a bit. She was still a bit timid about going into the Underworld. It would be her first time and she wasn't sure what to expect. Sure, Felicity probably could have gone down at any moment after she was claimed by Pluto but she had opted not to. Felicity figured that since it was a place meant to be seen and inhabited by the dead then there was no reason for a living person to intrude on the deadly existence. Therefore Felicity had opted to remain in the world of the living, that is, until now. She raised an eyebrow slightly as Saturn said he would talk to them. It made since, most monsters were in Tartarus and she supposed they would fear the Titan who ate his own kids, who wouldn't? Well, Felicity didn't fear him, which may be a bit stupid on her part. She just didn't have any reason to fear him, and hopefully wouldn't have one either. Still, she couldn't help but be a tad cautious when she spoke to him. She didn't want to say anything out of place to him and end up turned into something horrible like a slug.

Once Saturns voice entered her head again she listened intently. "Sounds fair then. I'll just shadow travel on down then." Felicity said with a bit of a relieved voice. She wouldn't have to go inside the pit of Tartarus, that was good, and she was going to have monsters work for her. The thought made her smile. After all these years of having to fight them off they would actually have to listen to her. The thought was pretty great. Felicity checked both sides of the alley. It seemed pretty clear at the moment, which would help her out. True, the mist would help to but she preferred to not test just how much the mist actually hid. She willed the feeling in her gut to have the closest shadows envelope her. Once she was surrounded in the darkness she started running.

After a good solid minute the overbearing darkness was gone and not so dark, darkness was around. It was obvious she was in a palace though. The place was huge. She stood within a hallway near a window. Felicity walked over to the window and just looked, amazed. So this was the Underworld. To the right of her version was what seemed to be a paradise. Felicity figured that had to be the Isle of the Blest or Elysium. Straight in her path of vision was a pavilion, probably where the dead were judged. Just above that Felicity could barely see a gate with a humongous dog guarding it. "So that's Cereberus." Felicity muttered out loud. Finally she looked to the left. There was a big field and then at the corner was a dark pit. That pit had to be Tartarus, and the good news was, it didn't seem that far from Plutos palace. "So thats where you're at. Seems, well, uncomfortable." Felicity said as she pulled herself away from the window and started walking down the hallway, down a set of stairs and just guessing her way until she got to a door.

Any ghosts or skeletons, or other forms of dead, she passed simply gave her a courtly nod and left her alone. This was good, as long as she didn't run into her father she was good. She pushed on the door she found and stepped her foot out onto the soil of the Underworld. Sure, there was a bit of anxiety in her at the thought of being here, but this would be worth it in the end. At least, it should. Felicity would be really disappointed if this ended up being for nothing. As she walked a few steps away from the palace she turned and walked backwards as she stared at the palace. It was huge, and dark colored. She knit her eyebrows together. It looked an awful lot like the picture of Olympus she saw in the books. "I guess this is his way of making his own Olympus." Felicity stated as she started heading closer to the pit of Tartarus, walking facing straight now.

As she got closer to Tartarus it got darker, and Felicity would admit, a bit scarier. She was Roman, this was just darkness, no big deal. Then she could hear the sounds of the monsters living in the pit. She stopped a moment, frozen in fear. No, she was better than this. Remus probably wouldn't stop. He was a son of Mars, Felicity was a daughter of Pluto, she shouldn't be scared of something a son of Mars wouldn't blink twice at. So, she kept walking, even if it was freaking her out a bit. It would probably pass, plus Saturn said most of the monsters would listen to her. But, how many was most? Felicity kept walking, the darkness kept getting darker. Once she determined she must be near the edge of the pit she stopped and cleared her voice to make sure her voice wouldn't squeak. "Um, now what?" Felicity asked, not sure what exactly were the basic instruction for raising a titan.

Saturn kept a close eye on her thoughts even as he spoke to the denizens of the pit. No harm in multitasking. She didn’t fear him, huh? Good to know. That was important. Everyone else could fear all they wanted. Some more than others he did hope. But having her fear him would be a bad thing. Too much fear was a bad thing. Just enough fear to breed respect was perfect and that seemed to be just what she had. Though he had to smile to himself, sight unseen, at her idea of him turning her into a slug. Such a silly thing. He knew the gods enjoyed such petty games with mortals. But Saturn was not a god. He was a Titan. The Titan. He played his games at a higher level. Those who disrespected him were not turned into fuzzy or slimy little creatures. They were brutally murdered.

“Yes, I will meet you on the other side then.” Meanwhile he let her go about her fun little business of shadow travel and sunk, for the most part save that small connection, into his own thoughts. To be walking again. He would need better tactics than last time. No stepping stone. Too risky, as Luke had proven. No, it would take all his willpower, and a lot of Felicity’s as well, but he would get his body back. His true form. Back in the day, he could level a town just by visiting it in his true form. That was true power. The gods knew nothing of that. Too busy sitting back and playing with lighting and water and whatever the heck else they did that was useless. He would put an end to that. There were Titans enough to rule the realm easily. Just as they once did. That day would come. This time he wouldn’t fail. Felicity would not fail. He would ensure it.

Which meant he needed to get back to helping her out. “Yes, you would be correct.” He didn’t know why he was bothering to respond to her comment about a stupid dog, but he did. To humor her maybe. Moving on. He chuckled at her summary of his current home. “Yes, it’s certainly no paradise. That’s why I want to keep you as far from it as I can.” Act concerned. That was always a good trick. Trust was a funny thing. So easy to create with some people, like miss Felicity. So easy to break too, which meant he needed to be on his guard. So he resumed watching her trip through the castle with some amount of interest. That was one place he’d never seen. Olympus was better, he had to admit. Half destroying it last summer had been quite the enjoyable time. But all the same, it was an interesting place. One that he would soon have under Mors’ control and, indirectly, his own. All he needed was his body back, and the scythe would be nice too. Which reminded him. “Felicity, may I inquire something?”

As she drew closer to the pit, he could feel her presence stronger and stronger. She was afraid. Good, she should be. This place was nothing to sneeze at, as the mortals said. He figured it would be best not to comment on her fear for security reasons. Best she didn’t know he could tell. And besides, she was working through it. Not that he didn’t already expect that from her. She was strong. If anyone could pull this off, she could. All she needed was determination, and she obviously had that. Perfect. “Be careful,” he warned. “Tartarus has been known to try and suck people down.” Take that boy Percy and his friends for instance. Life would have been a thousand times easier if that one had worked. But anyway. He paused for a moment , letting her question echo down the pit. That would get the monsters’ attention. And that it did. Some grew louder, other quieted to listen. Perfect. With a snap of his own will, they all fell silent to listen. “Felicity, this may sound simple, but it’s of the utmost importance if you wish to control any of the being down here. But you must be careful not to be overheard by any prying ears on the higher part of the Underworld. You father, for instance, would not be pleased, I imagine. But I need you to state your name, allegiance, and intention for all of Tartarus to hear. They are listening. But listen well, you need to mean it. Here, emotion and thought are the key. Nothing is material down here, so that is all we have. You have to mean it. Put all your willpower into it. With your strength, you could will some of these monsters back to the surface even. Though be careful, it will take its toll on you. And not all of them are so easily controlled.”

It comforted Felicity a little bit that Saturn seemed concerned about her. The number of people who were probably ever worried about her she could list on her hand and none of them included family members. Well, maybe it did now because Saturn technically was her grandfather. Gotta love those godly family trees. It still surprised her when she thought about it. Perhaps even more than when she found out who her dad was. A god was one thing, but a Titan? Granted, everyone at camp probably was related to a Titan too but to be their granddaughter? That was a direct link, no greats or twice removed things going on. She didn't know why but just that fact made her feel more connected to the Titan. Maybe that was why she got along with him, or perhaps it was because he was such a smooth talker. Either way, whatever it was was working. An inquiry? Was she doing something wrong? Had she forgotten to pick something up or something? "Of course you can." Felicity responded as she continued her trek towards the pit that held Saturn deep within.

Suck people down? Well, that didn't help the nervousness Felicity was experiencing. She slightly nodded her head, too afraid to let her voice answer for her. Of course, Saturn couldn't see her shake her head. Just the thought of being sucked down there, it was scary. It already looked scary being above the pit, imagine being in it. All the monsters and gods know what. Just being where she was would probably scar Felicity with nightmares for a while.

Once Saturn spoke again she listened intently, from the tone of Saturns voice Felicity could tell it was important, heck, he even just said it was important. She glanced around the darkness of the Underworld, it seemed quiet at the moment, but you could never be sure when someone might appear. Besides, she doubted her arrival went unnoticed by her father but maybe she would be able to avoid him during her time down here. It would be lucky if Pluto had decided to do one of his trips outside of the Underworld for whatever reason. Then she wouldn't even have to worry about him. Though, there was Mors. But, would Mors even go by Tartarus, Felicity hoped not.

Name, allegiance, and purpose? Was that all? Well Saturn said it had to be said with meaning, otherwise the monsters would probably eat her. Okay, so he didn't say the second part but that was pretty much what Felicity believed. Obviously it was going to take more than a simple "Hi, I'm Felicity, working for Saturn and I'm here to put his body back together." No, that way would probably just cause a fit of laughter among all of Tartarus. If she did it good she could control the monsters, of course Saturn said it would take a toll on her, but didn't everything regarding any power? Her powers took a toll on her so why should this be any different? At least if she got a headache she was smart and got Advil at the Wal-Mart in Los Angeles. Now it was just sitting in her backpack waiting for a migraine to happen, or some other form of pain.

"Right, understandable. I'll be careful of any priers up here and if a monster decides I look tasty enough to eat then I guess I'll have to feed them my sword." Felicity said, more to herself. She did have a good amount of swordsmanship so she wasn't too worried about defending herself, but everyone had their limits and Felicity wasn't about to test that. Besides, what was needed right now was not violence but eloquence. She took a deep breath and walked to the edge of the pit. Something inside of her wanted her to jump, it was as if it was pulling her. This must have been what Saturn meant. Felicity stayed focused on her current task and opted to ignore the feeling. She got herself into the right mind set of determination to help Saturn and her self confidence in herself. She wan't going to let this pit, or the beings inside it, scare her.

"Beings of Tartarus I'm Felicity Weingarten, daughter of Pluto. However, my allegiance is the rightful ruler of all, Saturn the Titan. The very Titan that I have come to help him acquire his body. If any of you are willing to help, good on it. If you think I'm too tasty then I guess I'll have to kill you. Got it? Good." Felicity stated. It wasn't the most impressive introduction ever but it got the point across. Besides, Felicity wasn't one for speeches, she more about being blunt, especially in this situation. Of course, after she had said that she felt a slight sense of regret in her stomach. It was official, she had turned against the legion. If it wasn't for her dating the Praetor she would probably be killed when the legion heard of this. Yet, there was no turning back. She had stated her allegiance, it was to Saturn, everything else came second now, and Felicity didn't regret it all. The only thing that went through her mind was that Remus was not going to be happy.

This was too perfect. How he had stumbled upon such a brilliant and cruel little mind as Felicity, he almost tallied up as good luck. Almost. He was a little too prideful to make it not sound like it had been an intentional choice. He had been watching Felicity for a while, admittedly. First of all, she was a child of the big three, and Pluto in particular. Call him biased, but he always saw a good deal more promise in Pluto’s children. The father might be useless, but his children usually had enough pent up emotions to feel an army for a year. And Felicity was no exception. The girl hated the gods from the off. For what reason, he wasn’t sure, and left that one to her. But it was refreshing. He barely had to lift an incorporeal finger to get her to follow him. There were bound to be some challenges once things got more serious, but for now it was smooth sailing.

And here they were, in the Underworld. Or rather, here she was, but he just referred to it as we as he was basically with her mentally. It was all a bit vague and confusing, so best not to think about it too hard. He smiled to himself as she responded to his question. He could sense her worry. No, she had done nothing wrong though. In fact, she was performing beautifully. Better than anyone he’d ever worked with before. It was all coming together. Except a few loose ends. “I believe you mentioned before something about helping with a weapon. I understand if you are busy. You are already doing a great deal for me. However, I thought it worth asking about.” It would take a lot of her time, really. And he had several other people who might be able to try it as well, so if she didn’t have time, that was understandable.

She was right to be nervous. It bred caution. And in a place like this, one could never have too much caution. And he was right. She stated herself that she would be careful. Good, good. And her confidence, too, would pay off. He smiled. “Something I would not put past you. And if they do not obey you, then they have earned being turned to dust.” Felicity was a capable fighter from what he’d seen and heard of her. If anyone could lead an army of monsters, it was probably her. He fell silent and listened as she made what he believed to be a nicely to the point little introduction. She did have a way with words. He waited several minutes after she finished. “Well put. They should obey you now, though if they don’t, then as we said before, dust to dust. Now you will need to enlist their help in gathering the pieces down here. I would not ask you to do such a thing yourself.” Yes, this was going beautifully.

Oh so that was what the inquiry was. Saturn was curious about his weapon. Felicity pondered for a minute. Yes, she remembered him saying something about it and her being all too eager to help him, yet again. Truthfully, she wouldn't mind helping him out it was just the fact she had no idea how to go about that bit. Sure, this was going to be a taxing task but at least she was somewhat aware of what she was doing here. I mean, she had done some research. Go to Tartarus, raise Saturn, done. Okay, so she was missing a few key facts like how to raise Saturn exactly, hopefully he knew. Either way she was motivated to this task. Even if the place was giving her the creeps. It would take her awhile to be back to her normal self after all this. But sure, once she stopped having nightmares about this place she didn't see the problem in ruining her mental health even more on a dangerous task for Saturn. After all, most of the camp thought a straight jacket should be issued for the insane Felicity Weingarten.

"Yeah, I remember. Maybe once you are raised completely I can find your weapon. However, the main priority is to get you walking about, wouldn't you agree?" Felicity said. She hoped that Saturn didn't take that the wrong way and think Felicity weak for not wanting to take on both tasks at the same time. Then again, if a weapon was needed for him to be raised completely then she supposed she could grab it for him. After all, Remus gave her two weeks. Felicity could do a lot for Saturn in two weeks. Especially since the only break she would really need was a couple for food and sleep. Other than that she would be ready to do just about anything.

After a few moments of silence, during which Felicity tried to keep her breathing under control and her nerves from bouncing about, Saturn finally spoke. She let out a shaky sigh of relief. Good, the monsters will help her out, or she will kill them. Sounds about right. She nodded a bit. At least she herself didn't have to go into the pit, that would scar her for life no doubt. Now, to get those monsters to gather the pieces. What exactly would they be looking for? A random leg here, an arm there? Maybe they will understand because Felicity had almost no clue. She swallowed, hoping to add moisture to her dry throat. Really, where was all this nervousness coming from? She was in the Underworld, home of her father. She should feel at ease. Or was it the pit? Or was it the fact that deep down inside she knew this was wrong.

Felicity ignored that feeling. No, this was the right thing. She had to get rid of the gods. No one deserved the childhood of a demigod. It was her fathers fault that her mom got knocked up with Felicity and then her mothers family disowned her. Because of Pluto Felicity never got to meet her maternal side, granted, it was sorta Felicitys fault too. And she knew that, every time her mom talked about her side of the family Felicity could feel the regret in her mothers eyes. The slight regret that Felicity was born, the regret that she shared that moment with Pluto. Felicity always tried to see the brighter sides though and ignored her mothers look of regret. Even when nobody wanted to be her friend. Everyone said there was something off about her. Even when she could never understand what the teachers were saying in school. Even when her mom finally gave up on her and focused all her attention on her new love. Felicity saw a chance at a better life with going to Camp Jupiter. She was excited when Lupa said she was able to go. True, life at the legion wasn't a walk in the park, but it was better than constantly being ignored. At least people understood a little bit. Then there was the incident that ruined any chance of fitting in, that incident last summer where, out of fatigue and stress, Felicity lost control just for a moment. People started to hate her again. Only a handful of people remained. Okay, things were still going good. Things got even better when Remus and her started dating. Gods, that was one of the more perfect things in her life. Then her life came crashing down on her when she first met her father, Pluto. She always had some fantasy daydream that maybe he wasn't as bad as what the books said. Yet, he was. Their first encounter and Pluto attacked her friends. That was the last straw, all the feelings from the past, that she tried so hard to look past and see the brighter sides of life, rushed forward. Her hate for all the gods, their patheticness at how they treat their children. Just everything about them. Now, they were going to get what they deserved, even if it meant Felicity wasn't going to have anyone there for her anymore. As long as the Gods are done with she would be happy. "Monsters of Tartarus, go and find the pieces of Saturn. Put him back together. Let him walk again so that he can defeat our common enemy, the gods."

She had a point that he couldn’t argue. It wasn’t like he expected her to just drop everything and change her course of action entirely, after all. She was doing her job nicely, so Saturn wasn’t about to complain. Perhaps he could get one of the other people who followed him to focus on his weapon, to give Felicity a break. He knew from experience it was best not to push a servant too hard. Spread the workload. At least he had plenty of people this time around to spread it between.

He paid extra attention to her emotions. Nervousness stuck out like a sore thumb. Which was fine by him. If she wasn’t nervous, she was an idiot, and he didn’t need any idiots on his team. But there was determination in there too. She hated the gods to such a beautifully disastrous extent that it made him swell with pride in his granddaughter. She made Hitler and Castellan look like five year olds, thinking that the most important thing was whether they got peanut butter and jelly or lunchables for their packed lunches. Felicity was in the right mindset though. She knew the goal and she went for it without hesitation. The only issue he could find in her was that bothersome thing about her being in love or some rubbish. If he didn’t play things carefully, it would be his downfall. There was always a weak point though. Always an Achille’s heel. Hers was easy enough to deal with. He simply promised that the useless lump of a boy would come to no harm and that was the end of it.

He was ignoring her thoughts by now, not really caring to hear about her silly childhood fantasies about meeting her dad. Though the part where they were dashed to the ground was interesting. Way to go, son. Turn them against you and bring them to me, just like you did the lovely young Felicity. You had your chance. Now it’s mine. And I’d say grandpa is doing a much better job. Felicity really was a joy to be around, in a weird, maniacal, twisted way. She seemed to soak up every fluffy happy word he had to say. She so desperately wanted and needed someone to support her that when someone came around to do just that, she was immediately hooked. Like his words were a drug or something. It was wonderful. So young, not quite innocent, but so easily bent to be even less innocent. Stabbing a child on purpose. The girl was a dream. She had no problem with lying and being cruel. And Saturn had no problem with manipulating her. Not that it took much. She seemed to want what he wanted, so all it took was encouragement and direction. Too sweet.

Saturn listened as she ordered the monsters to do her bidding, to help him back to his body. Just one little thing to finish it off. “Felicity. There is another thing. The gods have been making quite known their intentions to retrieve an old relic of power they do not even know. It cannot be allowed into their hands. But brought to me, it would speed the process of my return a hundredfold. I need it. And I need you to get it. I know not who will be chosen for the gods’ quest yet, as no one does, but I need you to ensure that it does not get to the gods. This could be the tipping point between our success and failure. Do you understand? Past that, you are free to go back to your camp.” She had no further business here. The monsters would do their jobs without her watching over them.

Felicity listened intently. An old relic? Why do the gods want it? There was a quest coming up? How the heck was she suppose to handle this? Maybe luck will draw a hand for her and land her on the quest. That way it would be better to handle the situation and ensure the object got to Saturn. She has yet to fail him now so why would she start? This cause, the one to revive Saturn and help bring about a new age, one better for demigods, was something she fully supported. She wouldn't back out now. No, she wouldn't let herself. Heck, she also so no reason why she would have the need to back out anyways.

"Don't worry. I won't fail you. I'll get you the relic. Like I would let the gods have something they actually want." Felicity scuffed at that idea. Whether or not she was going on this quest she would try her hardest to ensure it landed anywhere but with the gods. If the relic could do so much for Saturn, just imagine what the gods would use it for. It wasn't something Felicity was eager to find about it, therefore she would make sure she won't have to find out about it. First, she needed information about this relic though, and the quest, once the time came around to it. She supposed she could always ask Remus, but she would hate to seem like she knew too much about something that has yet to happen. Therefore, when the time is right she will play her cards well. Hopefully she will get her desired result.

"I'll get you that relic. I promise. I suppose I'll head back to camp now and wait for any more word for you." Felicity said as she turned her back to the pit and started to walk away from it, the pull and desire of wanting to jump into the deadly pit starting to disappear. She could actually feel herself shaking, had she been shaking the entire time? It was possible. With all the fear and adrenaline that was pumping throughout her system it wouldn't come off as a surprise. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. Depending on how much time had passed in the mortal world she might have to do something exciting, or relaxing, before she arrived back at camp. Hopefully to get rid of all the horrors Tartarus brought upon her. At least she completed her task. Saturn was rising. A new dawn was upon them.
