There were a few things that she didn’t quite understand, Charlie didn’t know what was going on exactly but she wasn’t sure that she could quite put her finger on it. Her best friend was so far in denial Egypt was suing her for citizenship. But she was happy. Charlie always swore up and down that she would have died as the crazy hell hound lady of New Rome, yelling at little legacies to get off her lawn. No now she was with someone. He was an amazing man, he was well educated and seemed to share her love of crazy and sometimes vicious pastimes. It was also nice that her love of sharp and pointy object and her particular glee of decapitations didn’t get her pushed off to the side or written off as crazy, again. Yeah she still had it out for that goof off Zidane. But she didn’t care much. She would put up with that stupid anger management class for as long as possible then skive it off. He didn’t care if she was a woman and a daughter of mars. He also didn’t seem to care that she was what other people called a warmonger or crazy. He was a god, and an older one at that. He was smart, educated, and classy, totally not who she would see herself with. She always dreamed about being with a soldier, but Mors was much more than that. Anyone else would have been terrified of death. Not her. She embraced it.
Charlie put her hair in a braid before putting on a simple tank top and pair of shorts before slipping into a pair of flipflops and heading out into the camp. She walked down the road, her mind wandering. Her cohort was probably starting to think that she was going absolutely crazy. They actually had a week night off before war games on the weekend. Being in First Cohort meant that there were certain sacrifices that had to be made. You had to be the best and nothing less than the best would suffice, nothing less would be tolerated. No she wanted to give everyone a break. She wanted to think about a few things as she passed Terminus’s inspection as she entered into New Rome. After purchasing a few pieces of fruit and some bread and cheese and a bottle of grape juice before sitting down beside the lake. It was a nice day and it was a beautiful sky and she could tell that the gods had really put a lot of work into this beautiful day. The breeze gently lifted the few tendrils that had escaped her braid it was cool and refreshing. She sat down under a tree and dipped her toes into the cooling water of the lake. Around her there were other people that had gathered with their families. She watched a cute little girl with pig tails bounce around the lake with a rubber inflatable duck around her midsection. Charlie noted that she played with the water like her friend Clare did. The little girl was probably a legacy of Neptune, it also looked like she would be a few years before she would start to serve in the legion.
She hummed to herself quietly as she broke off a piece of cheese and put it atop the bread. She almost wished she knew a Vulcan kid that wasn’t that annoying Simmons boy. Toast with cheese on it would be so tasty right about now. But the cheese on bread was just as good if not better. It was a nice snack to sit and relax, watching families play with the young children. This was the reason why Charlie fought. She didn’t want to see these families in danger and she wanted to have a place for her children to grow up if she ever had kids. Maybe one day, she would talk to Mors about it but not now, not while she was still in the legion. It was always Gods, New Rome, Legion, that’s what she was always taught. The gods before all else needed to be served. Charlie had gone to the temple of Mors earlier this morning and made an offering to him. She had sent him a Sephiroth doll that looked a lot like him. She thought that Mors would at least get a kick out of the wings and sword. He had an amazing scythe and how beautiful it was. Charlie was the only person she knew of that loved a man for the massive weapon that he carried. She hoped to see him, but as of late, her father had been making his job more than a little unbearable. Twice she had been turned into a coyote because of her dad. She didn’t care, she really cared for Mors and wished nothing but the best for him. She sighed, Charlie started to hum a quiet song as she happily splashed her feet in the water.
