Mars, in the long and the short of it, was furious. To start off with, he really really REALLY disliked infirmaries. They were a much needed resource and evil in his eyes. They smelled god awful, like bleach and disinfectant. Besides there were plenty of people who died in the hospital, either from malpractice or from just not being strong enough to make it, no matter which way you looked at it, Mars thought it was creepy. He would have to talk to Mr. Sunshine-shining-out-of-my-orfice to fix that. If Apollo ever got his head out of the clouds that is. But there was a really good reason for him to be here. He was here to see someone who was important to him. After all of the movement that had been going on divinely, Mars had taken a personal crusade to make sure that his people were doing alright. By his people, he meant Romans. But to be a bit more specific, he was here to see his children. Mars was abrasive and not exactly the easiest god to get along with. However he didn't know really how else to be. But after from some goading, he really needed to step in and make sure that his own children wern't suffering from him being a complete and utter fool. He had already spoken with Charlie, that was yesterday. He made it clear that no matter how harsh he was towards her, he still loved her and made her proud. After loosing Val and seeing how torn up Bellona was over it, Mars realized how precious his girls were to them and only treating them like second class people would quickly push them away even further. It would take him a long time to change if he was able to. Mars was rather set in his ways like stone.
Speaking of stone, Remus was the main reason why he was here. Mars pushed the sunglasses up around his eyes snuggly, he didn't want to create a scene for something that was going to be a private moment. He felt old and grizzled right now, so his mortal form probably looked close to what he was feeling. He passed by a mirror and a sink, no, it was his usual mortal form. Thank heavens for that. The last thing he wanted was for his Romans to see him looking haggard, Rome was only as strong as their patron. Even the new probatios could be strong if he was strong. There was a good bit that was on his shoulders and it showed. But he strode purposefully down the hallway and stopped at a door. His temper was boiling right now, he was a bit.... disappointed in his son who was praetor. But in all truth, his opponant had been quite the little cheater. She was a disgrace to the legion that she had been part of. She was lucky that he didn't automatically make her some greasy little smear on the pavement. Oh she would feel his wrath, Mars would curse her till the day she died for her mistake. Mars wasn't as vindictive as Venus or Juno could be, but he would get his revenge. No one cheated his son like that and got away with it.
Mars pushed the door open and surveyed the room. After what happened he expected there to be a bit more security. But even the most injured of his children were still strong by their own rights. At first, he turned his head, unable to look at Remus. He set his jaw and his pupils constricted. Just seeing his son like this made him sick, angry. He took in a slow deep breath, the wheels in his head turning and plotting on how best to fix this problem. He would fix it and then he would make sure that a problem like this never happened again. He swallowed hard, wondering if Remus would have even remembered what he looked like. Mars pulled a chair around and faced it backwards as he straddled it at his sons bedside. He wasn't quite sure what to say at this point. Words had never been his strong suit at all. Honeyed words were something he considered to be a weakness amongst people. If you couldn't come out and say it outright, then you didn't deserve to speak. He watched his son for a brief moment before speaking. “Remus?” His voice came out rather gravely and low. If the boy was asleep, he didn't want to wake him up. But he would keep a vigil over his son. He had done so here ever since Remus had been brought to the infirmary. Mostly it was at night when his son was asleep, but finally Mars had told Jupiter that he could go stick his lightening bolt up his podex and that Mars would do what he wanted. “Remus?” Again Mars spoke. He waited for a sign that his son had heard him.
