The breakfast had been good, common camping food, but enough to fill a Mercury's son. After cleaning the metalic dishes the demigods in the quest started checking the schedule for that day, they needed to hurry if they wanted to get back to camp with the Relic in time, before it was too late to stop the forces of the Titan. But things have been going kind of slow, which even with all their effort had been slow. that morning Felicity looked tired and even more edgy than usual, Ethan had been doing the night shift, so he needed some sleep. Edmund was... well Edmund. Lyn hyper as always but around Edmund. Josh... Joshua was with his mind in two things in that moment. He was planning their day as a quest team, but he also knew that next day it would be Rhia's Birthday and it will be the first time in all the time he knew her that he wasn't going to be there with her.

He was writing in fine latin on a note book all what they would need later. Food and some more wood, but his mind kept going to where Rhia could be in that moment. He sighed and lifted his sight, he looked at the other campers and decided to do something, stupid and reckless, something that could put the mission in risk at some point, but he knew that for him what was more important in that moment was to give Rhia something good for her birthday. He put his notes inside his messenger sack and was debating on telling the others anything about what he was going to do, even a lie about it. Maybe telling Ethan, but he was asleep in that moment. ok Felicity, he would leave Felicity as second in charge, with the orders of stay there until he was back.

But then decided to tell them that he was just going to check the perimeter and then he would go really fast to the town and get something for Rhia. He got up and told them he was going to check the perimeter, to stay there. Then he just walked away, with his messenger sack hanging from his shoulder in a crossed way.

The sun was more than just an alarm clock to Lyndis, for her entire life she was up at the crack of dawn if not before, and getting ready for the day. This quest was no different, in fact she was always waking up shortly before the sun came over the horizon. Starting a fire was almost second nature to her, and roasting something over the flames was easy to do. Nothing was really off limits for eating, not like when she was in New Rome and she couldn't eat many of the things because the grease and fat in it made her sick to the stomach. This was natural things from the world around her, deer was great if they could get it, but rabbits and snakes were good too. There was also the fact this was such a small group of people eating. She was glad she had gotten a small bag of rice, because it was filling and easy to make. She had a few ingredients to cook with in case they didn't find much, though it seemed like it wasn't always necessary. She kinda wished it was more like her home with her family, but it was some strange in between of that and New Rome. She had been in New Rome long enough to get a little used to it though. The weird schedule and habits of the people there, and she dreaded going back to live in those stone buildings.

Josh was wandering off to look around the perimeter, he couldn't possibly do that alone! That was the thought going through her mind anyway, and with a word to Edmund she left before he could reply. Not that he stopped her from leaving most of the time, but it was good to let your friends know where you were going and who you where going to be with. Especially when you were outside of a safe place with lots of people around. She knew better than to go places completely alone, even if she didn't think she would ever get attacked or hurt. He had his bag with him, so she picked hers up taking it with her. It was lighter now than when they first started the quest, the things she had been using inside of it as time went by. She fell behind, but she was trotting after him. Her soft shoes making little to no sound against the grass and dirt under her feet. It was natural to her to walk that way, she had tracked and snuck up on creatures until she was allowed to ride on horses with her dad. There was also the lots of practice she got while trying to sneak out of the valley and into the world outside of New Rome. That never went well for her.

Josh was trying to remember the kind of stores that they had seen since they got to England. Several places, several people. He knew that the place where he should go to buy her present must be the closer one to the place where the others were, just in case they needed his help. "maybe the one that was near that gas station..." he was remembering the places when he felt that special feeling in the mouth of his stomach, that something was following him. He frowned at the feeling and stopped walking. He hoped to listen to the footsteps or something, but there was nothing, so he was suspicious but kept walking.

"no... the gas station in kind of far, I could get there and back, but..." and thee it was again, the same kind of feeling, he breathed deeply and kept walking. If it was a monster he was going to lead it away from the others, then he would only need to teleport back and warn them. that wouldn't be that difficult, his head would hurt, but well, a killer headache wasn't enough to stop him from saving the others. Then he turned in a mercury's speed spin and looked back, and there she was, the little super lucky charm that the gods sent to the quest.

"Lyn?... what are you doing here?" he asked as he looked at the little girl with her sack on her side and her sweet little rounded face looking at him.

Station? Her little head tilted back and forth on her shoulders. It wasn't hard to hear someone talking to themselves when there was only the two of them out here. Her soft shoes made no noise on the soft ground, the type of shoes she had always worn out and about. Easy to move in, and comfortable. They fit around her feet and had a flexible sole to them, which made them ideal for sneaking around. She wasn't aware of it in the slightest, because these were simply the kinds of shoes she always wore. Station. She was still stuck on that word. Her memory catching it and tossing it back and forth trying to remember. She felt like it might have been something back in town, but Josh wasn't going back there. They were just going on a little patrol around the camp. He talked about it being far away. Was he leaving? Going to get things? That's no good. Lyndis picked up her trot, to a small run to catch up better. That was when Josh spun around and she stopped in her tracks. Looking up at him with big curious brown eyes. Then a smile flashed across her face, teeth and all because she had no idea how to smile other wise.

"What do you mean? I'm coming with you! You can't go by yourself remember?" her little cheeks puffed up from her wide smile. Josh was someone else she didn't mind spending time with, though she wished she got to spend more time as a team with Ed. Just her and Ed, though it was normally just Ed and Felicity. Josh and Ethan were nice, but she wanted to be on a team with just her and Ed too. Sometimes she felt jealous of Felicity. It was okay, maybe when they got back to camp she could spend more time with Ed. "Why are you talking about a Station? Where are we going? Aren't we just going to look around the camp?"

It was really weird for Josh to be followed like that, usually he was the one who followed others around, he was the sneaky one and well, he wasn't used to be the one followed. when he looked at Lyn standing right there he didn't know what to think or say. For some seconds his brain which usually had a supersonic train of thought, got froze. But they had been seconds that for josh were more like... hours. When he finally could join 1 and 1 again, he breathed deeply and shook his head at the little girl.

"come on Lyn, be reasonable, I told you to stay put back at camp, not to follow me..." He started talking but as he was listening to his own words, he knew they were bad argument with a kid that for the blessing of her mother, she was always with good luck. Then he thought on other startegy to send her back. "I wanted you to stay wth them, they might need your luck more than I could need it, Lyn." he said and then he felt his words were more accurate, but at the same time also less tight to the truth.

He knew that if Lyn was Lance, he would have known that behind his truthful words, he also behold some real lies. but maybe Lyn wouldn't notice his lies in his words. Then he tilted his head and shook his head. he walked closer to her, grabbed her by the shoulders and made her turn on her axis. "We? there is no We Lyn, you should go and wait in camp with Ed." he said hoping lyn listened to him.

With a big silly smile across her face she looked up at Josh. Completely trusting him and expecting to go wherever he was going. Even if he did seem a little out of it. She tilted her head to the side watching him as he thought. It wasn't for very long, but normally Josh always replied to her almost instantly, it was a bit weird to just be looking at him like this. Maybe Edmund she would sit there looking up at him, waiting for his answer, because Ed always gave the best answers. The word that came from Josh's mouth though made her frown a little. "You can't go alone. You can't!" she said putting stress on the words 'alone' and 'can't' so he'd defiantly know this was not just her being nosy. Which she was, she liked to know what was going on with everyone all the time. Not this time though. She couldn't let her team mate go off on his own. "No, no, no it's a thing! You can't go places alone! Buddy system, always buddy system!" she was bouncing a little as she spoke. Enthusiastic about this system of going with a buddy wherever you went.

She felt his big hands on her thin shoulders as he scooted her around to face the camp again. She looked up at him, her big brown eyes questioning why he turned her that way. Surely he understood by now right? She wasn't going to let him go anywhere alone. She tugged out of his grasp to face him again, a pout on her face. "I'm going! You need a chaperone and I'm coming with you! Yes it is we because we're part of a team and no ones goes off alone! Not ever!" That was Lyndis, stubborn little Lyndis. She might not understand much about the world, didn't even know that there were bad people, and honestly part of her didn't believe bad things where going to happen to them. She had however always learned to go to places in a buddy system, at least when on a mission. She knew she was supposed to have a buddy even around camp, but still she'd sneak off to try and escape a lot. Rules where there to keep you safe, and she wanted Josh to be safe.

Josh looked at Lyn and wanted to tell her to leave his side, to go back to be with the others, but even when he was a hothead most of the time and he would scream and yell at others or simply push them away, he knew that wouldn't work with the little daughter of Fortuna and it would probably hurt her feelings, which he wouldn't like to do at all. Lyn was a sweet girl that cared about everyone, so beinng harsh at her wouldn't help anyone and he didn't need a sad little girl in the quest, in fact if he thought just as the team leader, they needed her good luck. If he thought just as himself, well, he would keep the girl as far as he could from the quest and any harm possible, but he knew it wasn't possible, so... he sighed and shook his head slowly, still looking at her.

"buddy system?" he smiled and for a moment he remembered when his mother told him about the buddy system, school told them about it too. he had no friends so, well... he never really learned about the buddy system, but looking at her he smiled again and nodded. "you're right... no one alone..." but he knew it would be dangerous to take her with him, but better with him than alone, he could teleport them away i case of danger. "ok, come with me, but you won't get away from my side, no matter what you see or what you hear, always by my side, ok Lyn?" he asked knowing that asking that to a ten year old girl was a lot! but he knew she would understand why he was asking her that. "I'm not really going to what I said... I want to go to a local antiques store I recently saw." He smiled at her.
