Christmas, Hanuka, Saturnalia, Yule... there are a lot of holidays that people celebrate in December. each of those were from different religions, and even when in Camp Jupiter the people there was roman and they respected the gods knowing they were real, lots of the demigods living there grew up till their 10 years of life inmerse in the different religions, so they tended to celebrate those holidays along with the ones in Camp, more like great taditions and customes than real beliefs in those, because they knew the real gods and that they were children of them.

One of those demigods was a daughter of Vulcan and also granddaughter of Bellona. Her mother taught her the truth of the gods since she was very young. So when she was a kid she never celebrated Christmas as other people did. She celebrated more Saturnalia. The feasts, the gifts, the dances, all of that with her mom, and when they went to her mom's reunions at her work, she knew how to behave and never to mention the gods. But now in Camp, she felt free to celebrate it the way she did at home with her mom.

So she decided that she would decorate the cohorts main areas with wreaths, mistletoes, a big christmas tree all decorated, the ornaments on the walls and also on the doorways. Her robots were helping her around, the huge problem was the tree, because she was too short and not that strong to carry a huge tree like that, but her brother helped her even when he didn't know what a Christmas tree was, he helped her. After that she started decorating it, all night long. She wanted people to wake up with that surprise, that little bit of happiness. She always felt better on Christmas time.

"Yes!... finally I got it finish!" she smiled looking around. everything had even little led lights that worked with a small solar battery that lasted more or less two weeks without charging it again. "Good!, now everything is ready!" She even put her gifts under the tree, maybe others would put their presents under it too. "Now I only have to ask Ronan, Jason and Lance to come so I can give them their presents." sighs, then listens some steps coming closer...

Bright-Eyed and awake, that was Alex on Christmas Morning. He'd been hoping his mother would send him something, or even his father. He longed for a Magical sword, something that would truly prove him as one of the better sons of Mars and better fighters at camp. Of course, he got nothing, as usual. Camp ran on a different religion, but every year more kids still celebreated Christmas.

The barracks was quiet when Alex had woken up, he rolled around in his bed a bit, refusing to wake up due to the date, but eventually his impulsiveness demanded he wake up and work out. It took him a while, but he rubbed his eyes and eventually sat up in bed, nothing was different and it seemed that most campers were still in bed too. It was still early in the morning, which was acceptable, but he saw that the beds of some fellow Sons of Mars were empty. "Oh shi-". They must have already started training, he whipped his covers off and found his tunic.

Alex slid his armour on, he'd got an early morning work-out and then Battle Simulation in the late morning. He warmed up next to his bunk and attached his scabbard to his armour, he wouldn't run with his shield this morning, but he would come back to collect it, so he laid it carefully on his bunk and made his way for the door into the lounge area, passing through it he dropped his gloves and raised his eyebrows. "Er.. Okay. We're now the festive barracks?" he spoke seemingly to himself.

Wreaths and Tinsel were placed carefully around the rest area of the Barracks, a couple were kissing beneath some mistletoe too, until interrupted by what seemed like a Mechanical Reindeer set that had decided it was sick of working Christmas Day. Alex realized then, his hand was on the hilt of his Gladius, he relaxed and let go, glad it was still in the Scabbard. He wondered who put the decorations up, it was strange to know that someone had snuck into the barracks, they could've stolen his sword!

He sped outside, avoiding the hilarious mechanical mini-reindeer set that had seemingly malfunctioned and was determined to destroy one of the Wreaths on the wall. He made his way to the big christmas tree in the yard, spotting the culprit he was looking for. He didn't know her name, but she was young, Robots scurried around her, performing tasks and duties and making the Tree even brighter with the LED Lights. Alex sighed and approached, he had a softer spot for Younger Campers. Hey, you know having fun is banned in the main areas, right? He spoke, grinning straight at the young girl.

Nova had just finished to decorate everything when she heard footsteps and not just that, but also the deep voice of a male who didn't sound very happy with what she just did to the Barracks. She turned on her heels, very slowly, she feared to see the angry face of the male that had spoken to her. She looked up at him and then she recognized him as a son of Lord Mars, she had seen him in the forge sometimes, but she never dealt with his orders and requests, it was ronan or Edmund who did it. She always stood behind her tall desk and worked there, or before that she ran to hide behind Ronan. Not very roman action, but she was only ten and still kind of scared of everyone. Now at her almost 13 years old, she wasn't that scary little girl anymore... not really.

"it is not forbiden..." she said in a low, but firm voice. Maybe it wasn't the most intelligent thing to do, that Mars son was way taller than her 4 feet 3 inches height. he was more muscular than she was, and maybe he would be able to destroy her robots fast, in case she decided to run away from him and her robots would stay back to protect her, as a mental note she decided to make a bigger robot to protect her just in case she really needed help against other demigod. It wouldn't be safe for her if he decided to hurt her. but she thought she was safe in the barracks, a scream of her high pitched voice and more than half barracks would be up. so he wouldn't hurt her there, or maybe he really didn't want to hurt her, only... well maybe only didn't like the celebrations.

"as long as we don't miss our practices and leave the barracks as they were before the ornaments, it is ok to have a bit of fun in here." She said then changed her serious face to a gentle soft smile, she wanted everyone to have fun and enjoy the holidays, to feel that they were part of a huge family! So for that she needed to be more reasonable and understanding. "but, you are welcome to celebrate too, to have fun and also get a gift or give a gift if you have someone special to give something to." She smiled and then hold out a small tray with some biscuits.

The Young Girl seemed to process a lot of things quickly, her eyes darted around as she spoke in reply "It is not forbidden". There wasn't a long pause, but pause enough to make Alex think, she was sizing him up. She was threatened, something he felt bad about. He tried moving to a more relaxing stance, that wasn't so threatening. His hand left his sword hilt, which was its natural place now and he stood, leaning on a nearby table, he wasn't here to scare the girl, just make her feel comfortable.

"as long as we don't miss our practises and leave the barracks as they were before the ornaments, it is ok to have a bit of fun in here" That's when she smiled softly, Alex could do nothing but smile straight back at her and laugh as she finished her next sentence. "Well, I suppose I can let you off this once, but only if you grow a sense of humour." He walked over to the tree and put a bauble back on that had tumbled off. He gladly accepted a biscuit off the tray and munched on it, looking around at the Campers who were beginning to awaken and leave their barracks. They seemed quite confused at first, the decorations inside their barracks were strange enough, but a full Christmas tree and decorations in the main yard too was something that struck them.

Alex finished his biscuit and spoke "I don't really do the gift-giving thing, there's not much I can give anyone I s'pose. Oh, also, one of the Reindeer contraptions in my barracks has acquired an unhealthy taste for Christmas decorations. Might be some kinda wiring thingy that you kids do in your forge. I dunno." He scratched his head and munched on another biscuit, nodding to some of the Campers who had come out to start the day and ended up gathering around the tree. Hopefully they would be as welcoming and would enjoy the festivities as he did, but there were some campers who took a stern view on celebrations that were technically not of their Gods or more specifically, their godly parents. Alex decided in that moment, he was now the Guard of the Tree and Nova, this was her attempt at making people happy and lighten the mood, nobody was going to be stopping that, especially not with Alex ready and waiting.

She didn't want this tall strong man to know that she was scared of him, that she knew that the odds weren't in her favor, she knew it very well! but she didn't want him to know that, she didn't want him to have the that leverage on her. so she stood there quiet looking at him and his hand on his sowrd. But then his facial expression changed, it became a bit softer, expressions that weren't telling her that he would make her smashed kid in a second. Then other thing that helped was that he moved his hand away from his sword. That made her feel a bit more comfortable with him and his attitude.

She smiled a bit at his words and then looked at her robots, all of them of the size of a barbie doll. "it's ok, don't worry... he is a nice guy." the little robots went back to work on what they were working before alex came to view. Nova smiled at them and then looked at him again. "well... usually I'm in the forge all the time, so I don't know very well how to identify when someone is just joking or if they are talking for real..." she smiled at him with that sweet smile of hers that got little holes on her cheeks. Then she walked closer to him, her 4'4" height didn't help at all, she was for sure half his height, still, now she was a bit more confident of being at his presence.

"Well... that is the beauty of this day! you give from the heart, it doesn't have to be expenssive or elaborated, a small single thing can make happy to other person, if it is given from the bottom of your heart!" She smiled a bit more at him and listened about the reindeer in his cohort, she twisted her lips in a cute way and then looked at two of the dolls. "Flavius, Callia, go there and check the reindeer, tell me what is wrong with it, I'll fix it in a minute." The male and female doll walked to the cohort.

She saw how the campers were looking at the decorations and it was nice to see that most of them liked them. but also saw others that looked at them with upset looks, she started chewing her inner cheek, as always as she was nervous about something. "by the way..." she said and smiled at him. "I'm Nova Silverwood, daughter of Vulcan."
