Saturn smiled, a look that would make Caesar pee himself. He lifted his arms and looked at his hands, flexing his fingers. Real fingers. Ah, it was good to be back. He straightened his suit jacket and looked around at the ruins. They wouldn’t be ruins for long if he had a say in it. His grand palace home here on Mount Tamalpais would be back to its former glory within the year, looking as though nothing had ever dared disturb it. And no one would dare disturb it again.
Molten gold eyes scanned the horizon where the sun was setting, lighting the Pacific Ocean on fire. It was beautiful, he mused. He hadn’t seen the sunset in… well, two years. But it felt like too long. And it was too long. But that was soon to be amended. Ah, a revenge sweeter than nectar. It would be his. And soon. Those Olympians wouldn’t know what hit them. His foolish children and the ones who sided with them would perish. Turn to him or perish. There were no other options. Servitude or death. It would be spectacular. The throne, his again. The world, his. Perfect.
He walked along what used to be a grand corridor, enjoying the sound of his own footfalls. They sounded real. Because he was real. Never to grace Tartarus again. He would not be defeated again. The Olympians, on the other hand, would have no such luck. They would all fall to the might of Saturn. Some of them he would give the chance to join him, but the first generation Olympians, his children, would stand no chance. He looked forward to their demises. It would be his crowning moment. When his army of mortals, demigods, monsters, and every creature with two cents in their brain who sided with him, would overcome Olympus and the armies that still dared oppose him. He would soon have his day. Very, very soon.
