Free. Her weapon, her shield, her best friends; not here. Not with her. She never before felt this vulnerable. This broken. That's the type of freedom she was given. Saturn had taken her from the camp dungeons and brought her to this fortress of black marble. Alone. She had wanted it this way right? Since the beginning, she wanted to be alone. The heavy weight on her chest threatened to push all air from her lungs. She never wanted to be alone. She never wanted to push everyone away. She wanted friends. She wanted people to trust. She wanted so much, but always pushed it away. She wanted someone to save her. She wanted someone to stop her. Tears threatened to fall, burning her eyes as she started laughing. First it was low, sounding something near sobbing, but it got more high pitched and a bit unnerving as time went on. Standing in the black marble halls, empty for now, she laughed. Laughed at herself, laughed at how foolish she was. No one wanted her as a friend, no one was going to save her. Slowly her laughter dies down. She had to do everything for herself. Everything. She always made it work some how. The only time she ever got help was when she was seriously about to die. How stupid, they should just let her. That woman who stopped the man from shooting her, Saturn who broke her out before she was put to death. Which was where that interrogation was obviously going. A deep breath and she began to speak clearly in latin, her words echoing off the empty walls, the statues of Titans looming over her as she healed her wounds. When she was done she moved and cracked, popping her bones into their more desirable places. Sleeping on a cold stone floor was not the best thing ever. No weapons. Right, she'd have to remedy that. Exploring the building might let her come across some kind of armory, they were bound to have one of those right? Sure, Rhiannon the girl who could get lost anywhere was going to explore a large palace of Titan glory. Brilliant. She walked straight down the hall, poking her head in here and there to see what she could find. Broken walls, torn rooms. Right, only a month ago this place had been rubble after all. Looking out through a broken wall she could see the mountain side, looking down, she realized she was maybe on the second floor. Poking her head out of the actual wall she looked around more. Looking up, to the side, wherever. Down the hall there looked to be some kind of tower, probably with stairs going up so she could over look everything. Sounded like a good plan. Rhiannon hated her plan. She hated stairs, and at a high altitude. This sucked, thin air, long stairs. She didn't give up, it was a good work out for her now burning leg muscles. She'd start running up and down these stupid stairs until it didn't hurt so much anymore. Also when her lungs stopped struggling so bad for the oxygen they were used to at a lower altitude. Throwing open the door at the top she took in a deep breath of fresh mountain air. It smelled so much better than that at camp, like pine and mountain flowers. Breathing heavily she made her way to the wall edge, sitting on one of the lower outcroppings. Letting out a bit of painful noise as she rubbed her legs. |
