Silenna looked out from standing position in front of the Caldecott Tunnel. Silenna was dressed in a simple silver tank top and silver camouflage  pants. Her expression was cold and unflinching, being the daughter of Jupiter her stance was one of a leader. It also came from  when she was a child over 260 years ago when she was middle eastern princess. Her stepfather had raised her to rule her country and to be a just leader. However since she was female she would not be respected and needed to marry a man. Silenna looked out and knew the monsters could attack at any moments. Her service to Diana taught her that San Francisco was more dangerous than New York in terms of Monsters. However Silenna also knew of Greek demigods and how if the two camps met it would be civil war. Silenna knew for her sisters whom served Artemis, it was dangerous for them because of the Romans. Silenna kept this secret and swore she would not speak of the other camp's existance except those who knew. 

Today, she was at camp Jupiter and she didn't like it much for the camp was run by males and her times with the hunters had taught Silenna that many, if not all men were pigs. Her father was the worst example out there. Silenna was doing Guard duty to escape the camp wit out breaking Diana's orders to be stationed there til further notice. Her companion golden eagle was high above her enjoying the freedom to fly around and not caged up. Silenna kept an eye out and was not happy because she felt like Elias did from time to time. The air was cool and it was obviously winter time. Silenna didn't like that war was coming again and she recognized the signs. Monsters attacked more and well rumors spread of Saturn being fully back but not having seen him in person.

Silenna could only assume it was the fault of the pig headed male gods not keeping a promise to claim kids. The gods didn't care except Diana, the goddess was the hunter's adopted mother. They were a family when mom was gone the sisters looked out for each other. Silenna would not be surprised if it was a male that was behind this whole mess. When would women learn that men were arrogant, cocky, and imbeciles. Plus in Silenna's mind love didn't exist so why put up with males at all.

Guard duty, not that she liked it, but it was necessary matter. Charlie knew that she had to do this to protect the people in the camp. Every leader had to make sure that they were willing to do the most menial tasks that they asked their soldiers to do, otherwise you wern't very effective as a leader. So to the end, she would woman up, put her big girl boots on and stand out in that damned tunnel for a couple of hours. She slipped on her leather jacket before putting her armor on over it. A little tight, but she would deal with it for the time being. It was cold and the last thing she needed was to catch a little cold because of stupidity and stubbornness. Her sword was on her hip, her shield at her back and her pilum in hand, it was time to trek out and woman up to do her duty to camp. Charlie would protect her home till her dying breath and anyone that wanted to argue otherwise, that was on them. Hell it was their death.

She treked down the tunnel, spotting her guard companion. Damned it all, she should have checked that roster before agreeing to it. Okay maybe she shouldn't be that harsh. The hunters were well respected and they had tons of experience and had seen things that Charlie could only dream of experiencing. After she had first met the hunters when she was fourteen, she almost wished that she hadn't fallen in love, but that was over and done with. The hunters were a valuable asset. Even they could agree with protecting one's home. Or at least Charlie hoped that they could understand something like that. Charlie took up her position and nodded at the hunter. “Morning.” She stated as she turned her eyes to the cars wizzing by. Charlie's mind drifted to Mors as she watched the traffic, moving her head to the side as someoen tossed a cup of still half full coffee in the direction of her and the hunters. Charlie's eye twitched. “Gross and disgusting.....” She said, her lip curling as it splashed on her boots. She sniffed her nose. “ugh and three day coffee at that. Bastard.” She griped as she tightened her grip on her pilum. Damned liberals, there were times when Charlie wanted nothing more than to gut and hang out people to dry for their treatment of soldiers and their families.

Silenna watched while Imbecile after imbecilic man made some obscene Gesture or blew her a kiss which she promptly ignored. It seemed the men of this Era were more pig headed than the last. Silenna was greatly relieved when her guard partner had shown up. "Morning. Not much to report,Imbeciles as usual." Silenna gave her brief account of the morning's activity before mentally calling for eagle whom promptly landed on her arm. Elias gave a small screech when the man threw a coffee cup. Coffee, was not a beverage she grew up drinking but knew of it. She knocked her bow and wanted to shoot the man for littering but let her eagle mentally use tons of curse words about  destroying his beautiful homeland. "Watch the language Elias. Others might not hear you but I do." Silenna scolded her cussing bird before turning her attention back to her guard partner. "Glad to see my partner is competent woman and a leader for one. I do recognize you from years past. I know of you, but never introduced myself. My name is Silenna." The hunter introduced herself. She did recognize her companion but having spent time in the wild she didn't know this girl much. However rumors had it this girl was in love and probably would not understand Silenna's stance on men were pigs and love did not exist. In her mind love was fictional and she was to marry someone  decades ago that she never loved but her parents picked out.  However she could agree that times were geting bad and camp would need defending and Silenna would volunteer for the job because it meant getting away for a bit without breaking her lady's commands.


Silenna smiled slightly for she may not agree with the whole in love portion of this girl's life but at least they agreed that camp needed defending. She just knew that this girl didn't know of the Greek demigods whom also needed help. If Saturrn was back it meant Kronos was too for they were the same titan. It also meant that he wouldn't spare the other camp. She hoped to olympus that the greek Hunters could survive long enough for back up to come. "Yes, most of the male drivers are proving especially bad today, As pointed out by my oh so colorful mouthed bird. I am a daughter of Jupiter in case you wondered. I hope you are up for the challenges we might face. You have no idea the horrors out there, and better be ready to attack at a moment's notice." Silenna commented in a somewhat bossy tone but her leadership qualities kicking from growing up in a palace and being daughter to the king of the gods. This could prove to be a good time after all.

Charlie found it rather hard to not throw her spear right through that idiot driver's back tire. She wasn't about to let her anger get the best of her, again. That last stunt that Edmund pulled was enough to make her want to swear off men entirely. It also ended up with her in anger management therapy. She wasn't the person with anger issues, people needed to stop prosperously pissing her off. The world was wrought with stupidity and there was just nothing she could do to stem the flow. But something did take her eye, a beautiful bird landing on the arm of the girl who was to be her partner while doing guard duty. "Such a beautiful creature. I've never seen anything like it before...." Everything about the bird was amazing. To a degree, Charlie was jealous of it. It had freedom, beauty and deadly ability. Something that Charlie had found to be lacking in things around camp. Well with the exception of weapons, but that was just her Mars-ness talking. Everything about weapons were both beautiful and deadly. "It's nice to meet you Silenna, I'm Charlie." She offered the hunter a grin from the underside of her helmet. probably not easily seen underneath the bronze helm but still the offer of peace between two worlds was there.

"Challenges? I'm up for just about anything." Charlie stated with confidence. She couldn't help but tighten the grip of her sword. A gift from her father for coming of age. For a good long time, Charlie had given up on trying to get her father's love and acceptance, Mars had made it plenty clear that Remus is and will always be one of his favorites. It had surprised her that he would even give her a second look. "Daughter of Jupiter huh? Sounds cool." She said, her eyes darting over the cars that were wizzing by. The cars themselves wern't the problem. No it was what was lurking amongst them that could prove to be a huge challenge. There were hellhounds that could look like trucks or even monsters that could drive, an attack wasn't too far off the beaten path. Being just outside the boarders, patrolling and keeping the perimeter was something that was just as important as drilling. Charlie could bet that she could hear the cheers of her cohort to find that she was elsewhere serving her civic duty to the camp and town. Though she highly doubted that Ashby would let up just because his co-centurion was doing guard duty. "Seems to be just another boring morning, though here lately, things could go sour pretty fast." Charlie stated, letting out a breath of warm air, slowly watching it curl in a white strand against the cold air.

Silenna kept a steady eye on the road for her time with the hunters was be ready anytime to strike for you never always knew who was a monster and who was not until it was usually too late. Elias was still cursing which the hunter ignored because he was just cranky. Silenna turned and smiled facing Charlie pointing her still towards the street for the bird could temporarily keep an eye on things if it would focus. When Charlie spoke of the bird a smile came across her regal lips as she absentmindedly put her bow down to stroke him. "Yes, Elias here is my hunting companion. I could understand him speaking mentally thanks to a certain pig of a father that i have. I didn't need Diana's blessing to communicate with others but I can communica e with the wolves in our pack too." Silenna spoke finishing up the petting and going back to Guard duty. She didn't want to just ignore her post. Lady Diana would be mad because it was not fitting for a hunter to ignore her post.

"It is a joy to see competent woman in charge of a cohort. Men are so incompetent and they seem to be the easiest to have go to Saturn's side. I bet you anything it was a male who set this all in motion. i am glad you are up to a challenge Charlie. It is a pity you love a man, for i think you could make a fine hunter.You could join our ranks and join me among the hunt. However right now we might have bigger problems. I fear we might have company soon." Silenna knocked her bow pulled back and let an arrow soar. Elias had alerted her that two  Hellhounds were barreling towards them. "CHARLIE GET READY! WE HAVE COMPANY TWO OF THEM! THE SIZE OF TRUCKS! I SWEAR THIS BE EITHER SATURN'S DOING OR JUST COUPLE OF ROGUE HOUNDS COMING TO EAT US!" Silenna bellowd. Her aura shone and it seemed like she was in her element and that Jupiter's leadership qualities were shining through her. Silenna peer through on coming traffic waiting for their new unwanted company to arrive. The sounds were quiet except some slowed down traffic.  Silenna heard it faint in the distance the growling and trees rustling.

Silenna looked at her companion for she was nervous. The hunter couldn't afford to have her partner mauled, Even if she did fall for a man. Every young girl deserved to live. Silenna hoped to olympus shee would live too.As a child of Jupiter she could cause a thunderstorm but then would be of no use to anyone for a day or two. She would be easy prey for the next attack and couldn't afford that. This was turning out to be a guard duty turned sour.

"Sounds like being a hunter has some really cool perks." Charlie said. Not that she could give up loving the god that she did. Mors was a special person to her. There was once or twice that she had considered being a hunter, but it was after she had fallen in love with someone. There were many forms of love, yes, but the romantic sort was a kind all to it's own. The hunters didn't approve of love, but Charlie had to assume they were on the side of the gods. It was kind of rediculous for a hunter to not be on the side of the gods, and now that she thought about it, it was a stupid thought. The hunters were good women, they were tough and strong and had knowledge beyond anything that Charlie could hope to learn in her life time. It was a blessing to have them in camp and to be standing beside one right now. Oh the amount of techniques she could learn from them if she could just spend the time with them. "I'm sure that Elias makes a wonderful friend." Charlie said with a smile. Having a pet was such a wonderful thing, though the beautiful bird could hardly be considered a pet. He was more of a companion and a friend then a pet.

"Thanks." Charlie said with a smile. "I would have joined the hunt, but before I knew anything about them, I loved someone." The compliment was nice, and while she would have loved to be a hunter, She wouldn't have traded anything for it. She loved her cohort, Edmund included, and she would sacrifice herself for the good of the camp. Charlie didn't need to hear the warning of the hunter to know that something was out there. Her skin prickled and her battle instincts started to kick in. Her eyes narrowed and her hand immediately went to her sword. It was a gift from her father, a wicked looking jagged blade, black as night and wrapped in a black leather around the hilt. It was nothing special, no magical powers or aura of fear or lightening or anything like that. A Child of Mars didn't need anything special about a weapon for it to be more than deadly.

Charlie didn't think twice, she knew what she was doing, well somewhat. With sword in hand and shield in the other, Charlie charged forward. She was armed to the teeth and ready to keep this camp safe. It would seem that bounding hounds were ready to do some damage. "Nine o'clock!" She shouted, calling to her companion that a hellhound was coming up on her left. She slammed into the furry beast with a ferocious yell. The gaping maw snapped at her shield, the smell of the breath was horrendous. Charlie almost gagged as the spittle dripped into the other side of the shield. "I'd like to know who these were sent by, they need to do better than that!" She shouted.
