Joshua Being an Idiot [ICC Game: Ed/Josh/Remus/Felicity]

**SUMMARY: A desperate Joshua teleports himself to Mount Orthys to talk to Rhia. Instead of finding Rhia, he runs into Ed. Remus, who has noticed Joshua's absence, gets him (Josh) back to The Legion with help from Felicity**

**Warning: FEELS. Idk what happened, but InnerEd decided to come out

Notes: Sorry, it's kinda on the long side.

So, without further ado, I present "Joshua Being An Idiot"

Ed: *walking down one of the corridors of Orthys after waking up from one of Rhia's knock out spells*

Josh: *Josh was desperate, he needed to talk to Rhia, to explain to her what had happened, that he never betrayed her! So he decided to teleport there, he still looked like a homless. a several day beard, messy hair and lines under his eyes. so he just did it. Teleported inside the castle. Blood running from his nose and a migraine to kill a common man. He didn't see Edmund standing there.*

Ed: *turns a corner and then freezes* Rogers. *looks down the corridor* What the HELL *takes out his sword* Are YOU doing HERE?!

Josh: *listens to his name and turns with his daggers in hand, but when he saw it was Edmund, he put them back into the stealth and then shook his head* Not so loud, ok? awful hang over. *he was lying, but... well he had always been a liar, right?*

Ed: I don't CARE. What are you doing here? *walks up to him* You look like crap.

Josh: *frown at the loud voice* shhh... you're going to wake up the ghosts of this place! *smiles and then looks at him* I came to look for rhiannon.

Ed: *rolls eyes* No such thing as them. Yeah? Good luck with that. You'll probably die within ten minutes

Josh: *looks at him* wanna know if I came here alone or with the whole army? *smirks* I'm alone Edmund... if this was an attack, you all would be dead.

Ed: *rolls eyes* Right. I would expect nothing less.

Josh: Edmund... what the hell do you expect of being here with the Titan?

Ed: Bringing the legion down, seeing everyone dead

Josh: I can't believe that from you... not the guy who was with me in the quest!

Ed: Learn to. People change.

Josh: people doesn't really change... they only think they must to

Ed: Maybe you've just been decieved the entire time.

Josh: it would be very difficult to deceive a son of Mercury don't you think?

Ed: It's possible though

Josh: yes... but not you. you think you have been hidding that well... you are like a crystal with some ash over it, you just need to rub a bit and you'll find the truth behind it.

Ed: *rolls eyes* Your choice. You're the one who'll be getting hurt in the end

Josh: I already got hurt Edmund... remember? *smiles* come on Edmund, tell me how much you hate me, how much you'd like to see all the people in camp reduced to ashes?

Ed: I'd consider it a victory. I don't exepct to live long enough to see it though. So I'm doing my part to make it become a reality

Josh: *rolls his eyes and laughs* same argument than my witch... if you don't expect to live enough to see it, how would you be sure it will be all what they had promised you to be?

Ed: *smirks* My restless spirit will find a way

Josh: you all know it is a mirage... you know it is something that won't be true, you're just too angry to accept it. *breathes deeply* I still believe in you and her, even in the maniac of Robinson... I do believe in you guys.

Ed: Your sentiment is getting the better of you. It's not ME who's in denial. Its YOU.

Josh: I'm not in denial... I know you'll kill me if you face me in war... I just know that you'll regret it after it... killing me, killing Lyn... killing Felicity... gods... even my brother Ethan. you're not an animal Ed, you're not a bad person either.

Ed: *just looks at him coldly* If you want to believe that, go right ahead. I'll just end up proving you wrong in the end.

Josh: if you kill me, you won't proove more than I already think.

Ed: But I won't regret it.

Josh: Who knows... *smiles* you seemed really worried when Lyn got injured in the quest... and when I got wounded.

Ed: That was then. This is now.

Josh: you say you simply stopped carying for those you cared about? as if WE had betrayed you?

Ed: I never said I cared

Josh: no one gets that upset about someone if doesn't care.

Ed: Things changed

Josh: why? what happened that you felt that the only way for you was betraying those who had cared for you and that... at least in a small degree, you also cared for.

Ed: *glares at him* The quest happened.

Josh: the quest? we all 5 were in there, only you left... what happened to YOU after the quest? we even talked by the Tiber. what happened?

Ed: *smirks slightly* Nothing, and everything.

Josh: Help me understand. because I was already there, where you are... and I wouldn't be there again, I know HE is fooling you all... so why?

Ed: Well, you're not me. The quest. The gods. Why didn't you stay on this side? Not like you haven't fooled anyone lately

Josh: The quest... the gods!!! it is easy to blame other for our misery... *knowing he blamed Saturn and Rhia for his* I didn't stay there, because I know Saturn won't keep those promises, he will enslave each human, and each god. Free will would be a fainting memory. And if I fooled people... was only to get as much info as I could from him and his army to help rome to survive.

Ed: And how do you know? You're probably not going to live long enough to see it either. *scoffs* Sure

Josh: *snorts* maybe I won't, I know that. Still I'll work for it with my last breath.

Ed: *curt nod* You were always hard headed *smirks*

Josh: *snorts* yeah... Mercury kid. Still you are hard headed too.

Ed: Always will be I suppose *shrugs*

Josh: then I think you have some hope... Saturn couldn't get through that skull.

Ed: Right

Josh: Edmund... we have never been friends, yet... I would want you to come back safely... you and *Rhia*

Ed: *just looks at him* I don't understand.... people like you....

Josh: *half smiled* you mean cool people? *smirks half joking *

Ed: *half scoffs* Those too.

Josh: what you don't get about me?

Ed: Not just you.... Lyn, and...and Nova, and Ronan.... Tessa, Clare.... freaking Charlie, even. Why... why would you want me back?

Josh: because you are loyal... you are true to your actions even when your words doesn't agree with them. I saw your eyes when I was wounded... you were trully worried, scared... not because the blood or maybe my death... you were concerned about me, about Lyn's arm. We want You Edmund, YOU back.

Ed: *just looks at him, mimicking the way Felicity looks when she's confused, and just blinks*

Josh: *looks at him knowing felicity and that face* Edmund... come back. *hoping he would do it*

Ed: *looks at josh for a moment, his face almost looking sad for a moment before its back to its statue-ness* No. I can't.

Josh: *josh's face looked sad, almost as if his should had been shattered.* why not?

Ed: *opens mouth slightly and the shuts it and averts his eyes* I don't want to leave.

Josh: you don't want to leave ... his side or... ours? *was confused* we can work something out... you don't have to be alone Edmund. In war I would rather have you by my side than some of my cohort.

Ed: *shrugs* Yeah, I do. [have to be alone] *shakes head* Nah, you don't need me.

Josh: why do you want to be alone? *smiles* yes I do. (Want him by his side)

Ed: Easier. *looks at him* ......right.

Josh: what Worth's in life is never easy.

Ed: *shrugs* not much for me, anway

Josh: *frowns* really? So nothing in your life was worth working hard for?

Ed: *hesitates for a second and then shakes his head*

Josh: *sighs* well... I think you worth it. *he had even given his life for him to prove it.*

Ed: Wouldn't be the first time you're wrong

Josh: I know you are. So as my witch and even Robinson.

Ed: Right...

Josh: I only give my life for someone who worth it.

Ed: Then save it. You're not a cat

Josh: I am trying here.

Ed: Too bad it's going to waste

Josh: why do you want to die Edmund?

Ed: More of an acceptance than a want

Josh: but why!? Why are you sacrificing yourself!?

Ed: Same reason as you. I believe in a cause

Josh: Saturn's? Come on Ed! It is utopia! And it isn't possible! Not with him.

Ed: *shrugs* See any other way of stopping the gods?

Josh: why instead of stopping them, we make them learn to live with us. To be what they are, our parents. Ed we have an opportunity.

Ed: We can't make them learn to live with us. They've already proven that they come crying to us when its their lives in danger. Well I'm not falling prey to that again.

Josh: that might change. And... humans pray to them all the time... why can't they come to us when they need our help?

Ed: You said yourself. Change is minimal. They have eternities to live. It's not like they're going stop what's been working for eons. Fat lot of helped they've proven to be

Josh: so... the answer is to become them? And push them into tartarus? Like they did to their father? Hasn't been much of a solution either, right? What do you think he will do to those against him?

Ed: Only way to get rid of them. *looks at him calmly* What they deserve.

Josh: he will kill us all... torture us first until we die. You really think, we deserve that?

Ed: Yes.

Josh: well me... yes I do... for all eternity. But... nova, lance, Lyn? They don't deserve that.

Ed: Who's to say they don't?

Josh: why would they deserve a life of torture and painful death? Only for being overly cute and care for?

Ed: Yes.

Josh: is that the world you are sacrificing for? A world where kindness, carefir and love are down seen? *breathes deeply* what kind of world would it be, if kids and teens couldn't have love, couldn't have kindness?

Ed: *inhales and just looks at him*

Josh: answer Edmund... someone with... *didn't mention the fact that he already knew about his sister meg* the likes of making such amazing things for others, like the bird and the planes, mustn't want that world.

Ed: It's the world he's going to try to help create though

Josh: He will bring a world of slavery, if anyone wanted more than it was supposed to have or be... He will crush that being. Innovation will disappear... your kind and mine will be gone... the phylosophers, everyone against him.

Ed: Won't be my problem anymore

Josh: so that's the plan? Burn the world and then leave by the easy road... leaving others to deal with your mess?

Ed: That's the gist of it, yeah *shrugs* Everything burns. Everything has its time and everything dies.

Josh: you are a builder... why to turn into a... destroyer? You could help us build a real world... some place that we really enjoy. Why bring hell when you can bring heaven?

Ed: *shakes head* I've always been a destroyer

Josh: *pulls out a beautiful dagger* Rhia gave me this... you made it, she asked you to do it... *remembering burned his soul* you are a builder. Your past only helps you to learn then in the future you can be better. You doesn't need to be a destroyer.

Ed: *just looked at it* Something that can destroy that's masked in good artsianship.

Josh: or save lives. I used this to fight monsters in the quest... to save some kids in a town near camp... to save, not to destroy.

Ed: Depends on the wielder then

Josh: yes. Come back, help us. Help me. I do need someone like you. Your creations are amazing. Help me save lives. Help me space the innocence of kids like Lyn, like Nova... *-like Meg's- he thought and looked at him*

Ed: I'm not coming back. You just have to accept that

Josh: you know... some at camp had asked me why I risked my life for you... for a traitor... *breathes in* well I reply that you are a good team mate And much better than many at camp. That I would risk my life for yours any time... that won't change even if you are with Him. But I don't think your sister would like to see you there. *and he wasn't talking about Nova*

Ed: I don't have a sister

Josh: you used to.

Ed: *looks at him and half opens his mouth before looking away* How long've you known?

Josh: *didn't smirk or smile, it wasn't pleasant to make someone remember lost people* since before the quest.

Ed: Knew I should've tried harder

Josh: tried what?

Ed: *looks at him and opens his mouth before hesitating* To.... get the files destroyed.

Josh: if you hadn't done that I wouldn't have read them. *shrugs* someone needs to have the record of the people in camp. But I never said a word... you know that. meg would hate to see you there all alone and trying to annihilate the world.

Ed: Exactly. *looks away for a moment, as if contemplating* I barely remember her anymore. *shakes his head and shrugs* She's irrelevant to this. Or to anything.

Josh: irrelevant... then why you kept making planes for her?

Ed: I stopped plane making a while ago

Josh: you blame the gods for her death... but now you are willing to let other girls like her die in worst ways she did. Girls that love you almost as much as she did. Lyn and Nova. Let's not speak about felicity that her memory was triggered by you, not even her boyfriend. Ronan blames himself for your departure. I blame myself too. I should have stopped Rhia... then the relic would be in camp and you... would be there too.

Edmund: Out of all those points, you got none correct

Josh: none? Yeah... sure.

Ed: None. *bites lip slightly and opens mouth, hesitating* Meg's death... that was my fault. Gods have nothing to do with it. ...... Felicity remember me.... before Remus. That... that shouldn't of happened. I never meant to get between them if I did. You and Ronan. *swallows* ... you, you guys shouldn't blame yourself because this isn't your fault, you couldn't have done anything. And all of you, You don't need me.

Josh: *listens to the teen and looks into his eyes, then nods and breathes deeply* we all make mistakes that hurt or kill those who we love... but we must go on. Remus is working to be back with her so you didn't do a thing but to help her remember. And Ronan... I don't know his reasons, but mine are... valid. I should have stopped her... but I love her too much. My fault. And you... thank the gods you still have free will to be with Saturn.

Ed: Even if you could've gotten the relic back. I would've left.

Josh: with no Saturn... you wouldn't have to be a traitor.

Ed: *smirks* I would've started my own movement then

Josh: *smiles* I could have been a soy there. *sighs* Edmund... please think about it... (going back) I promise I'll do everything in my power to keep Sade Lyn and Nova, even felicity if she let's me. *smiles* no matter what you choose, I will keep them safe.

Ed: I don't need to give any thought to it, Rogers. My mind's made up. I'm staying here. *just gives a curt nod* They're none of my concern. You'll all be going up against me at one point or another.

Josh: told you... I would keep my life to keep you safe... and i'all try to keep that too.

Ed: *rolls eyes* No way of convincing you that it'd be a waste on me, is there, Rogers?

Josh: no... no way on that. You are a good member of the legion... no matter what you say.

Ed: Even when I go against it, everyone, and everything it stands for?

Josh: yes... I would hate a blind minion of the legion. You are unique and amazing team mate because of your singular way of thinking.

Ed: .....you've inhaled too much smoke

Josh: not that much. I'll still try to save you.

Ed: Its Definitely started to mess with your brain

Josh: I could say that same about you. Maybe it is the smoke in your brain which made you leave.

Ed: Or lack of *shrugs*

Josh: lack of brain? Yeah also that. *smiles and shakes his head* I know you're no messenger, but... could you tell rhiannon... that I miss her?

Ed: She's not going to believe you

Josh: I know... but I must try. I do love her... but... I won't put you in that position.

Ed: Go find yourself denarii and a rainbow

Josh: *smiles* maybe I will... or I could just sneak into your camp.

Ed: *looks at him a moment and then shrugs* (sarcastic) Or that

Josh: you wouldn't mind me visiting, right?

Ed: ..... *narrows his eyes slightly* Not at all. Thought you were finished causing people misery, but whatever.

Josh: *smiles* me? aww... I thought my presence was all joy!

Ed: *rolls eyes* Certainly not to me, Rogers. Besides... I could just *takes out his Hello Kitty keychain* kill You. Causing even more misery *smirks*

Josh: wow... where is the calm Edmund? now I'm really shivering! *smiles* relax Edmund... I told you, I won't kill you neither Rhiannon, nor robinson or the fear Kid.

Ed: And I told you, death isn't my problem. *looks at him deadpan* But I never said anything about not killing you.

Josh: then try... I really need to find her.

Ed: Pity. She's caused dibs on you. So it's you who have the death wish now?

Josh: I have a death wish since she left... *smiles saddly* but that doesn't mean I will die that easily.

Ed: *raises eyebrows slightly* So that's why you started smoking again then, is it?

Josh: *snorts and smiles* smart... right? I would keep fighting and training and working for the camp and bring youe morons back safely... till the snoke killed me. *the chemicals in the cigarrette makes his teleportations awful. nose bleed, blood shot eyes, high blood pressure, he could even have a brain damage*

Ed: ....... brilliant. Try to bring lost causes back to camp, not even considering the possibility that we may want to stay here. And have Ethan and Lyn lose another brother. And have the legion lose another person who probably had others looking out for him and who'll miss him. Win Win. Good job. Spectacular Rogers. Really, Freaking fantastic.

Josh: *sighs* Edmund, I don't care if you hate the gods, or what other reason you have. but I don't want you all to end up dead. *smiles at those names* Well Lyn misses you, it wasn't nice for her to lose you, to know that you considered a waste of your time and then to know that her father had died. *snorts* look, maybe it would end up in my death... but... four to some more lives saved even if I lose mine? I see a win win there.

Ed: *looks at him, blinking and then partially opening his mouth before shutting it, then looks away before glaring at him* Yeah? And who, pray tell, well you be saving if you die? Even if you did die. No guarantee that anyone would be saved. *deadpan* You won't be around to see the results.

Josh: Well, then Rhia you and me... should be on the same psychiatric ward! because you two doesn't expect to survive to see the results of your actions either! At least I will lose my life to save others... not to destroy all of what I knew and all of those that I cared for or that cared for me.

Ed: *rolls eyes* I think that would imply that caring went on before hand.

Josh: *shrugs* Listen, I guess you won't mind my death, Rhiannon... she would love it, I don't care what Robinson and the kid think about it. Lyn... Ethan... Remus... They will understand it. so why do you care? I would only be a fallen enemy.

Ed: I don't. *looks at the wall* well, if you want to find Rhiannon, better start looking. This place is gigantic. *plops down and starts drawing*

Josh: *frowns* like that... just... you'll do blueprints and let me pass? this is maybe something like you did for Felicity?

Ed: *snorts* No, I went to stab Weingarten in front of her boy friend. What this? *looks at drawing* No, this isn't for you. I'm just drawing *rolls eyes*

Josh: *looks around then back*you could have killed her and him, and yet both are fine at camp. *smiles* oh, don't worry... Son of Mercury, I know where I am and where to go.

Ed: *rolls eyes and continues drawing*

Josh: ok... then... "no" thank you... see you later. *he said and started jogging down the hall.*

Ed: *as Joshua walks away* Cinny. // Cinny: *shoots a traquiliser with a sleeping draft in it at Josh's leg*

Josh: what the... *feels the dart and looks at Edmund* agh... I hate these things!... *fall onto his knees feeling drowsy, but his high metabolism is keeping him awake*

Ed: *dead pan look and has Cinny shoot a second one into him*

Remus: *meanwhile looking and asking around camp for Josh with no luck*

Josh: *falling asleep*

Ed: *walks over to where he's falling asleep and rolls eyes* Idiot. One more won't kill him, Cinny. Gods knows we're going to be in for it when he wakes up. *shoots another one into him*

Felicity: *lounging in Remus's chair in the principia because ..... bored and waiting for him to get back*

Remus: *gets back to the principia troubled and is met by Aurum and a note, frowns and reads it* S--t. That idiot. *goes to his desk and finally notices Felicity (hey, he's distracted!)* Oh, hey, sorry.

Felicity: *was watching him, sits up* It's okay. *stands and walks over to him, trying to peek at the note* What's wrong now?

Remus: It would appear Josh went after Rhia... he's at Orthys. Whoever our spy there is, spotted him and is trying to take care of it.

Felicity: *playful smirk* Can I go get him? I'm bored. Plus, sounds like it could be fun.

Remus: You would consider this fun. Just promise me you'll come back. *kisses her cheek*

Ed: *makes sure Josh is asleep and then hauls him to the nearest closet and shuts the door* Friggin idiot. *turns around and slips into the next room; getting Cinny to sweep for Rhia*

Felicity: I'll try. Still got that map of the place? I might need to borrow it. Even if it is illegible for the most part.

Remus: *gets the map* here. *Aurum starts acting up again* Wait... *goes and gets a paper from the dog* Here, you'll need this too. And Felicity? Good luck...

Felicity: *looks at him* I'll be back. *takes the map and the paper, runs into a shadow and exits in Hallway B, middle level. Stands and looks at the paper, map, then down the hallway*

Ed: *having Cinny sweep every few seconds to make sure Josh isn't moving; puts him on mute*

Josh: *ten minutes Josh starts mumbling incoherencies about Rhia, about him, about people he knew*

Felicity: *walks down the hallway and spies the closet, looks at it before opening the door*

Remus: *sitting back in his chair worrying*

Josh: *frowns and opens his eyes slowly* what the...?

Ed: *stumbles out of the room was in, blinking and rubbing his head before looking around and spotting* Weingarten. What the HELL are you doing here?!

Felicity: *spots Ed and smirks* See, I was in the neighborhood but it was a bit chilly so I figured I'd sneak in and grab a coat out of the closet. *grabs Josh by the wrist and pulls him out* This one will work. Demigod pelt, PETA would not approve.

Ed: Damn, we really need better security. You keep getting in. *rubs the back of his head and then scowls* Not that coat. I need to deliver that coat to Rhiannon.

Josh: *migrain 100% top, but frowned at Felicity* you shouldn't be here! how the hell you knew I was... here. *looked at Edmund with a frown, then listened to Rhia's name* Felicity leave me here, I'll be fine.

Felicity: *rolls eyes at Josh* Like hell you will be. Besides, Rhia doesn't deserve a coat like this. Not after the way she abused the last one. *starts to pull Josh towards a shadow*

Ed: *goes to grab at Josh* Well at least I won't have to listen to him babble all the way there. Took me three darts to shut him up. Would've had him to her if I hadn't gotten jumped.

Josh: *looks at Felicity and nods* I'll go with you only because you're risking your life here! *looks back at Ed and gave him a -I know who you are now- look* three darts?! you could have killed a demigod with that! *smirks* tell her I passed by...

Felicity: *rolls eyes and goes to kick Ed back when he makes the grab to Josh* C'mon lover boy. *pulls Josh into the shadow*

Ed: *gets kicked back, looks at the place where they disappeared for a moment and then shuts eyes, turns around and leaves*

Felicity: *enters the Principia and lets go of Josh* THe idiot is back.

Josh: Me? I had everything under control! I knew what I was doing! *looking at her*

Remus: *stands up* thank the gods you're both safe. Josh way were you thinking?

Felicity: Right, thats why you were knocked out and shoved into a closet. *rolls eyes* He was just doing what I would do if you were Rhia.

Josh: *looks at Remus* Man it's driving me crazy! I must talk to her! *at Felicity* minor detail! I would have seen her! then I would just pop back here!

Remus: and what if she tried to hurt you and you couldn't get away? Last time I talked to her, she wasn't in her right mind at all.

Felicity: If you want to see her, at least don't go alone. *shrugs* That way someone can at least attempt to bring your corpse back.

Josh: *rubs his temples* I can handle her... she's not that fast. *looks at Felicity, still missing his best friend in her* I won't risk the life of others just because I am heart broken.

Felicity: *sighs and looks at Josh* You wouldn't be risking anyones life. If this is something you really want to do, just be smart about it. *gives him a look that says " come and talk to me next time" *

Remus: she's right. Just be careful, josh. If nothing else.

Josh: Remus, Felicity... I do apreciate it... but I can't risk your lives. -mine is already doomed, so it's ok-

Felicity: *glares at Josh* You're stubborn.

Remus: well then you can't risk yours. That's that.

Josh: *sighs* then give me job so I can get my mind in that. *looks at Felicity* Mars blood.

Felicity: Remus isn't that stubborn. *sighs* I have an idea for a job he can do.

Remus: what's that, felicity?

Josh: *frowns at Felicity. He was already a scout so... what would be a job for him?*

Felicity: Well, I don't have anyone to train with now and I don't want to lose my skills, especially with the impending war. Josh can be my trainer? He's great with weapons, plus, you're always busy so you can't do it.

Remus: *nods* what do you say, josh?

Josh: *smiles and breathes deeply* ok... we could even train your shadow traveling against my teleporting, with battle skills.

Felicity: *smiles* Sounds great. What do you say, Remus? Sound good?

Remus: sounds good to me.

Josh: guys... *looks at them* thank you.

Felicity: No problem. Just make sure you don't skip out on training. *heads towards the door of the Principia* You know where to find me. *leaves*

Josh: see ya! *smiles and shakes his head*

Remus: *sits back and sighs when she leaves* or if you feel like skipping, I'll trade you spots. I feel like I hardly see her anymore... *takes a deep breath* but enough of that. You have a new job to get on with. Welcome back.

Josh: *looks back at him* well, then we can train her both. *smiles* I think I won't be ging there for a while... they will have some guards there now.

Remus: *nods* sure. *still a bit off, but smiles* good to hear. I don't want to lose you, my friend.

Josh: *odd... Joshua had never had friends before, but Rhia. but looking at Remus, he knew he was his best friend. The praetor and the Thief... well that was a title for a good novel maybe.* Thank you, my friend. you won't... not soon at least. *smiles*

Remus: *smirk* good. Let's keep it that way a nice long time.
