It was an interesting thing for Emmeline Daneel to find herself bored within the confines of Camp Jupiter. There was always something to do or someone to harass excessively, and yet...The opposite seemed to be true on this very afternoon. Or that wasn't entirely true, she supposed, there was just nothing that she wanted to do nor no one in particular that she wanted to harass to that extent. Most were in something of a grumpy mood and if she cared to bother them then she had to be ready to deal with the fact that they would likely rather shut her up with a sword as opposed to just flat-out telling her to shut up. Not that she didn't think she could handle such hostility with a bit of humorous flair, but she wasn't interested in it for the time being because it was too nice a day to waste on the angrier legionnaires-the majority then, she mused. It was also nice of a day to waste guarding the tunnel when she could be elsewhere, but that had been her job up until oh about fifteen minutes ago. Thank the gods too because her fellow guard had been about as entertaining and interesting as the dirt stuck to the bottom of her shoe. No offense meant, of course..Okay, perhaps a little offense meant, because it was their own fault that they lacked any semblance of a personality. Don't get her wrong though and assume that she just hadn't tried hard enough to pull a little conversation from them because oh how she had tried. She'd even pick-pocketed something from them while they weren't paying attention and then proceeded to taunt them about it, playfully of course, but still to no avail. Eventually the girl had just given up, but not before secretly sending up a little prayer to whichever god would listen that she wouldn't get stuck with someone so dull next time.
Running her fingers through her messy mane of red hair, Em departed silently from the tunnel, finally. It wasn't like it had been days or anything, but it had certainly felt like it when the sun was out and she had the opportunity to bask in it without wearing armor or just sitting under it scuffing her shoes in the dirt, because there really was no point in guarding the tunnel at that very moment. The only thing the camp was in danger of at that particular time, she would say, was an utter and complete lack of fun...Fortunately after a few moments, it occurred to her the perfect way to fix such a matter. She didn't need to bother anyone if there was someone whom she knew would willingly participate in her antics. Who better than her little baby nephew, after all? Ethan, unlike most, was always pleased to see her around the Camp so if she could manage to scrape him up from somewhere then all of her problems were likely solved. She just had to avoid getting dragged into anything boring or tedious before she could find him. People always seemed to want to drag her to the obstacle course, for example...Which was fun, no doubt, but more often than not she came back from it bruised and muddy and even bloody-something which she just wasn't feeling today, shockingly enough. Normally she wouldn't mind because it was a good enough way to burn off a bit of energy, but her nose had finally realigned itself from the last time she had accidentally bashed it in on that course and she wasn't ready to go back to the infirmary quite yet.
So far she had discreetly checked the barracks, the baths, and she was just on her way to the armory when it occurred to her that Ethan was probably least likely to be there. If anything, he was probably making out with his girlfriend somewhere. Ha. Ha. Em was still almost offended that someone had the nerve to date her innocent little nephew, but she could take that up with him later, she decided as she changed directions and headed for the Little Tiber instead-finding exactly who she wanted within just a moment. Well that wasn't too hard once she reached the river, she nodded her head slightly as a grin spread across her lips. "Are you avoiding me? Because you were way harder to find than I thought you'd be." Em quipped, coming up next to him beside the little river, bringing an arm up and propping it lazily on his shoulder as though his sole purpose was to be her arm rest. What else would it be anyways? "Did you know...that everyone else in this camp is not half as fascinating as we are? 'Cause let me tell you, they're not." Or at least that was her opinion after talking to a few people on her way here and finding not one that really kept her interest long enough for a legitimate conversation.
