The infirmary was a magic place if you asked someone like Kyle. He had always felt a special kind of admiration for the people that saved and healed the legion members. It was very easy to hurt and wound other human beings; the human body was so perfect that if a single part of it was damaged, then the whole system fell. So, injure one of them was really simple. Now, on the other hand, to safe one of them, to heal them... Well that wasn't so easy. The several people that worked in the infirmary were true heroes, they saved lives and more than only the one on the bed, they saved the ones there and the ones that loved and cared about those on beds. That was the main reason he chosed to be a medic! not only because of his father's gift, but also because of those that he could help!

He walked slowly into the infirmary, place which he hadn't been into since he had left the legion. The place perse hadn't changed at all, but he could notice that there were some new labels for some rooms, like "cinema" or other kind of new stuff. Would those changes be because of Jason? he didn't remember that Kyoto was like that, at least not when he gave him the post of Infirmary head. But now the head was a girl, so maybe that is where the changes came from. He looked around and noticed that the nurses and medics were more active, everything seemed working like a swizz clock. He smiled and kept looking around. A young blond girl greet him and he told her he needed to talk to Tessa Yates, the girl nodded and told him to wait in the waiting room. So he walked to that room and waited for the new Head of the Infirmary.

Tessa had started using the cafeteria as a small screening room every other week, the ones where First Cohort wasn't doing those two day drills. She'd show movies, mostly Disney and Pixar, so that the legionnaires could have an hour or two to just relax and watch something together. Sure they had plays at the theater in New Rome, but they weren't always suitable for ten year old’s. Tessa wants to make sure little kids got to have some kind of childhood. She couldn't make it much more than once every two weeks, it would get too busy for her to handle. She had to be here for the project itself, make sure no one was causing problems or anything. Though they seemed o be pretty mild. She had even discussed with Ryan about doing a big barbeque outside every so often. They had one so far, and it got a large number more people. Even when some simply watched the movie outside after the food was gone. Perhaps something about being in the infirmary, movie night or not, disturbed people. She'd even wheel some of the people in the infirmary to the movie nights, so they could watch and joke with their friends. It was a rather nice idea if she said so herself! Schedules, Tessa was a stickler for getting everything done in a timely manner. Paperwork had to be done correctly, though she'd give some leeway on time to get the paperwork correct the first time she preferred if it was on time and correct. The stuffed animals that she had made still lines some rooms and counter tops, ready in case someone needed it. Tessa had little problem giving them away as well, she made them herself after all. Though not just recently, over the years she's spent working in the infirmary she'd made those stuffed animals, even more than what was here. The ones she wasn't as attached to went to August, free things for him to rip open if necessary. She wasn't so sure about her Uncle, he spoke to her little and for a time she didn't speak at all. Pulling back the curtain she pointed someone out the door. “Your ankle isn't broken, it's not even swollen. I'm not giving you a note to get you out of Charlie and Chris' practices.” there was a little girl there with her face puffed out in anger. Her shoe and sock off on her left foot. She tried to argue it hurt a lot, but Tessa shook her head and picked her up off the bed setting her on the ground. “I've seen people in real pain to know enough how they react when it hurts.” The little girl stomped her other foot trying to tell Tessa it did hurt, but since she stood on that leg all by herself without wincing Tessa scooted her out the door. A blond daughter of Venus came up to her and pointed at Kyle. Tessa nodded and made her way over with a smile. “Good afternoon, I'm Tessa Yates. What can I help you with?” Her voice was a chores of beauty, naturally sweet and enticing, though her tone was kind and professional.

Kyle Lucian O´Brian Kyle waited for Tessa Yates in that room but couldn't help to look around, it was a nice, place in fact she had even ordered to change to color of the rooms and he liked that, more... more of a hospital, or maybe it had been Jason who did it. Then he tried to remember if he had done something good at all for the infirmary when he had been there as a head of infirmary. Well he allowed other campers to work in the infirmary, he wasn't the first who did it and he was sure that not the last one either. He also gave his medics some days off, he remembered that. and that son of mercury who was the one in the inventory. He was good but Kyle always had to check if he didn't take gauzes without asking for them. He was a good guy, pity he died in war. In fact when he walked into the infiramary he noticed that more than half of the people that used to work there, weren't there anymore. He remembered those who had died in war, their faces were in his mind, he remembered all of them, names, cohorts, years at service... all of them, the whole package. but he also remembered the rest of them, the ones that as far as he knew survived the war. He sighed and hoped that they were alive and happy, maybe in New rome, maybe in other place in the world... just safe, happy and alive. "please Lord Apollo, please father, take care of those who sacrifice so much here and out there for the sake of their fellow ones." he said in a very low voice, he just wanted to do it, trying to send a lost prayer to them, trying to keep those he didn't see, well. Suddenly the door was opened and he looked at the person who walked in. she was tiny, well, very short compared to him. She was beautiful, but also her eyes were firm and told him she was the boss. then she finally spoke to him and he smiled at her. her voice was beautiful, appealing as if she was going to become his best friend in the world! as if he wanted to please her. Still something in the back of his mind told him to stop with the weird ideas. "My name is Kyle O'Brian, I just came back to the legion to support rome in times of war. so... I'm here so you can tell me what can I do. I was a medic in the last war." he didn't mention he used to be in her position till after last war ended. Life and death and everything between

She recognized the name, honestly if Tessa hadn't known the former head of the infirmary before at least Jason what would she know? His name was still on a plaque in the hall way along with the rest of the previous heads of the infirmary. She worked and polished that metal surface enough times. She had never met him face to face before, he was a bit tall, not that it was hard to be taller than her. At least he wasn't the height of her Gunnar, not very many people were his height thankfully. Perhaps a few sons of Mars. "Right, I got a note in earlier today. I wasn't expecting you to show up so soon though. It's nice to meet you. If I remember we were in the same cohort in the last war too, if you've been placed back in there I'm also going to be your centurion. For now I'll see how your skills are, we've had some advancements in medicine in the past three years so it would be good to catch up on those. A few of the old machines have been replaced, mostly because they were old and breaking. Or didn't always work, I think you might know which ones I mean. What's your specialty?" she spoke clearly, and with a pleasant demeanor of someone who was once a nurse, pleasant and kind but will little lee way on interpretation. What she said was law, and she put that into her voice, or at least tried to. She'd have to remember to look up his file when they left, though it might take a little while to get him reacquainted with the infirmary. It had changed a bit in the past three years. Perhaps even the colors on the walls. If she remembered they didn't have colors on the trim before. Though she couldn't remember if that was with Jason's permission or something that just seemed right to brighten up the rooms a little. A bit of green or blue, and defiantly purple around the tops of the walls. Different colors were on different types of rooms so you could kind of figure out where you were. Purple was generally in hall ways and offices. Green lined the little meeting room they were in at the moment. Even the chairs had different colors to them. Brighter, slightly more cheerful hopefully. "I'm not sure how it was last you were in the infirmary, but I put a bit of emphasis on paperwork being done correctly the first time, and put in as soon as possible. I've got an open office, so if you see something that should be changed please feel free to let me know. If possible please go through appropriate channels. Tell the supply officer when something is low, technical operator when machines are going haywire. Ecetera."

Kyle Lucian O´Brian Kyle listened at Tessa with a lot of attention, he still thought her voice was one of the most beautiful voices he had ever heard which was nice to listen, he wanted to be nice to her, but just that, maybe his sould was still attached to Annie's or was in darkness, who knew for sure. But he didn't put a foolish face while she talked, but an interested one. Then she told him that she would also be his centurion. Well, he didn't have any kind of problem with that. He knew that there were sometimes that a woman would lead men and that a man would lead women, so he nodded at her and smiled a bit more. "Well, I'm fine with it. I used to be centurion too, but I'm glad that now I'm just a cohorter, a legionary." He hadn't told others, maybe only to robin, that after war he did never wanted a position of leadership again, he couldn't manage to lose those under his commands again, not again. When she asked about his area of expertise he had to think a bit more about it. in the past 2 years he had been practicing a lot, cardiology, pediatrics, and over all Emergency first aid in the battle field. He swore to himself and to Annie's soul that he would never let other person die on his watch, not if it was possible for him to save them. "Well, back then my expertise Area was the emergency aid, the one on the battle field. After that I've practice in cardiology and in pediatrics, but my best area is the battle field medical attention." He sumarized and hoped she didn't want him to tell her all of the cases he had dealed with, but he felt that it was his duty to tell her how he dealt with some of those. "Also, my father granted me with a power, which I use in the battle field and in the ER,..." he said and then after a small pause he continued. "when the patient is close to death and not even the fast an proper treatment will save its life, I use my power only to heal them enough to be treated and saved." After he mentioned that he felt much more calm and relaxed, at least she knew what he would do in a case like that. Then she talked to him about the paper work and the machines. "Thank gods someone changed them!! Praetors back then thought it wasn't that important, that our godly abilities would be enough to keep them safe, that machines wouldn't be more important than us. I think the male praetor was upset because his girlfriend a daughter of vulcan dumped him." He shrugged and then smiled again. "I like neat paper work too, so no problem there, and I would love to check the new machines." he said as he looked at her. Life and death and everything between
