Everyday the number of injured grew, and the number of fighting dwindled. She was so thankful to her grandfather Apollo for being with them, to have her medics with his blessing. Fewer lives were being lost this time around, and her mind never thought it was because of her leadership. She didn't realize it was because of the specially trained medics she put all over the fields, with the expert training against first cohort without weapons to defend themselves. They had the stamina to continue working all through the day, thanks to those two and three day long drills. No matter what their normal training was, Tessa gave them a taste of what it was like to be in first and second cohort. People like Ryan not only stepped up to the plate, but he excelled at it. She was proud of him, even if he had made a small excursion to the Titan's base camp before war started. What happened to Robin was the reason she always carried medical supplies on her. Now, in the midst of war, she carried more with her.
As Tessa struck another in the leg, knocking him out cold with her bow she saw arrows fly striking a single target. Nova Silverwood. With a jolt in her chest she rushed to the girl, the littlest legionnaire in her cohort. She let loose her own arrows as she made her way across the small gap between them, that the bodies of people still fighting filled making it difficult to move through. What she didn't catch with her own shield, it's face moved to catch instead. She took good care of it, and still the mechanisms worked. She'd lost it's special function for a few hours at the end of the second day, but that was it.
Her knees struck the ground as she slid to Nova's side, it had taken her longer than she'd have liked to get there. Her main hand was already in her medical kit, she shield arm was left free to knock away and defend this place. To defend herself and the girl under her, except when a set of arrows dug deep into her back. There was little she could do about that just yet. The arrows were deep, buried almost all the way through her small body. Someone with a heavy weapon came upon her, bearing down on her shield crumpling in one blow. She could feel her arm crack under the pressure of it, and struck out with an arrow. Piercing their eye and dropping them to the ground. Pain in her right arm she dropped her bow, and continued trying to get Nova in stable condition. The girl was scared and bleeding. She tried to smile, to reassure her as her arm throbbed the pain of a break finally coming up. Worse from her hyper sensitive nervous system. Considering where the arrows where, it would be best to push them through and bandage the girl up. She propped Nova up a bit and forced her broken arm to move. Cutting the back end of the arrows off before pushing them through and wrapping the wounds, putting gauze and pressure on them to keep them from bleeding badly.
She knew what was happening around her, though the quick one behind her even those trying to defend their centurion hadn't noticed. Daggers bit deep into her shoulders. Down into her heart. She had been stationary for perhaps a minute, not long at all. Battles happened too quickly. She could feel the tug as the assailant pulled his daggers from her and jumped back and away from the fighters. Tessa fell, her heart pumped a bit of blood through her wounds for a few more seconds before it stopped and she fell. Nova was safe under her, the pressure still on her wounds, and the line of skirmish was pushing forward. Overtaking Saturn's ranks little by little. Her last thoughts were hoping someone would Take Nova to the back line.
Mors
Mors lingered near by. Miss Yates would have died in this battle at some time. It was completely inevitable, but that was the eighth life she had saved from being taken to the underworld. When he said saved, he did not mean it idly. Not something that mortals can do often. Kyle and Jason had their own counts as well. He kept the number in mind always, and he would tell them when he claimed their soul. For now, he found someone else who was in need of guidance.
