Soon after the huge army left the Mt.Othrys and only when no sound was heard, when the vibration on the ground, originated by the march of the army that rhia was leading. His heart ache when he thought of her, but he know that sitting there and cry for her would do nothing. So he had to get out of there and then he would be able to do something for her.
He opened his eyes and looked at the bars, then he got up silently, maybe only his friend Gunnar would have been able to listen to his steps and the movement that the cot had when he got up from. then he walked to the bars and squatted right in front of the lock. He put a hand on it and could sense the way the lock had been reinforced.
"you know me too well Rhia... but you lost the past months of my learnings." he smirked and took the lockpicks that she had missed locating in his clothes. He opened the small wallet and smiled when he saw that he still had the special lockpick that Trivia gave him long ago to save Rhia. He shook his head and breathed deeply. "Thank you Lady Trivia." He thought as he started working on the lock.
After already 10 hours of working on the lock, Josh got a cramp on the back of his hand, so he had to stop and move it, stretch it and crack it. He breathed deeply and then continued working, hard on it. It was very difficult but he wasn't going to let that stop him. and after other two hours give it or take, he finally opened it. "finally..." He whispered and then opened the door and walked to Neptune's cell.
There he saw only one guard, Josh smirked and then ran at it. it was just a small drakanae, so it wouldn't be a problem. He attacked it and it attacked him back. They fought for some minutes and Josh managed to use the special lockpick to stab the monster through the heart. It vanished and He looked at Neptune inside the cell. "Lord Neptune, I'm Joshua Rogers and I'm here to free you." Smiles at the god. He had blood running fown his face from a cut on his brow and some other cuts on arms and chest.
To put it lightly, Saturn was otherwise occupied. However, the titan wasn't stupid enough to think that Neptune was safe. Or at least he hoped that his paternal grandfather wasn't that dense. However, enter one Joshua Rogers. To say that Mercury was proud of his son was like saying that Apollo pulled the chariot of the sun across the sky. But he was going to go through his plan while the battle was in motion. It was something that could turn the tide against them to have his Uncle here. And he would be taking along someone who needed some experience. Lance Shade. His grandson had taken quite a shine to the boy Gunnar, his best friend's grandson. Maybe it was this that made Lance blossom. But they would be running communications throughout the battle. Communications were vital and could be the difference between life and death.
Mercury put a few things in a knapsack while he could still hear the din of battle going on in the distance. It was some supple leather armor that Josh would need after they got done doing what they were doing. HE took a few things and placed them into the knapsack as well. Daggers, some lock picks, water, nectar, ambrosia, a first aid kit, things that josh would need. He had already packed a similar bag for lance and was quite ready to get started. Now to find the boy. "You're in charge till I get back. if you need me for an emergency, call me." Mercury said as he tossed a prisim and a handful of denarii to give him a call if he was needed. "I'm going to find lance and we'll be back." Mercury said as he popped away, looking for his grandson. He traveled through the airwaves quickly, trying to find his grandson. Lance was a good person and that's why he picked him. Josh had a part in this whether or not he was willing to admit. He had been placed there by the fates for a reason.
There was a bit of armor over him, light leather that allowed him to move as he wished, but Lance did not wear the typical Roman armor. He was a messenger, and even though he had only just started running messages in the war he'd come across a few close calls. He couldn't stop to deal with them, but could call them out for others to deal with. In his short time dashing to and fro he found staying where the creatures where, while dangerous, was a good way to get rid of a few stupid monsters. He didn't have to attack them either, just run through letting a few see him. They'd try to attack him, and instead strike one of their ally’s. The monsters didn't have as much discipline as the Romans, and at times would start infighting for such a thing. From up here Lance could sometimes catch sight of Nova, to make sure she was okay. He hated how close she was to the front lines, but she was a good fighter. Her chakrams tore through arrows and creatures alike, but Lance couldn't give her the attention he wanted at the moment. Dashing behind enemy lines to get them to attack each other was difficult enough.
He was a little short of breath when he arrived, but pushed through the pain in his chest to give the message. Quickly he drank from his water bottle, listening to the message he was given. He was glad his father had him learn how to have something similar to a photographic memory. The words he could remember exactly, along with the person who said them. Heck he could even remember the facial expressions if you wanted him to. This time there was a surprise visit though, from Mercury himself. Lance hadn't seen him until he was there, which he supposed was a rather normal thing. He had gotten better at sensing people that were there, since Josh and Gunnar liked to test him so much, but Mercury was always a different story. “Gramp's, hi.”
"come on stupid lock... I know you have over a thousand ways of combining your parts to be open, but I have done nearly half of them!..."
Those were the words in the mind of a desperated demigod in the bottom of the dungeons in Mt.Othrys. He had been working over 10 hours on the lock that kept closed the door of the god of the seas' cell. It had been once a normal lock but with magic it had been transformed into a multiple locks lock. so you had to open each of them in an specific order to get it open, if not it would lock itself again and you would have to start all over again. That happened to Josh only an hour after he started working on that lock, so he had to start again.
He looked into the cell and half smiled at Neptune. then looked back at the lock and after breathing deeply, he started working on it again. his fingers were already red and with blisters, he had broken 3 lockpicks and he was using the fourth one, he only had 5 of them so he was starting to get worried, only a little bit. He had already done the first half, but it was the easier part. From that moment on, he would have to be very careful, a bad turn, awrong lock, would ruin all of his work till that moment.. "ok... you're gonna get opened either you want it or not. " he thought as he opened the next lock. "only half the way now..." Smiled at Neptune and then continued working.
