The days were the warmest they could be in Alaska, with highs in the sixty's lows in the fifties. Warm summer sun shone for what seemed like forever, sinking below the horizon for only a few hours a day this time of year. Still, Jupiter had awoken Amelia early in the morning to see the night sky. As he god of storms he had made it unusually sunny for the short period they would be in the arctic circle. The cruise ship taking them close to numerous widlife during the day, but at night they were out on the ocean. Neptune could kiss his white hairy backside if he had something to say about the god of the skies being on an ocean vessel. This was to be a treat for Amelia, the mother of his child. Sun shone on her to keep her warm during most of the day, clouds covered the sky to shadow their window from the rays while they slept. It would be a short vacation, but they both needed it.
To be frightfully honest, Amelia wasn't just another girl Jupiter happened to have a child with. He'd had his fair share of those in the past, but this woman, this marvelous woman had a way of making him feel comfortable. When he first met her he spoke of his personal life, his love life and some of the problems that went with it. She was a stranger, she didn't even know his name until the next time they met. When she was with Gabriel. Prick. Being related to that rocks for brains bother of his was not at all in the boys favor. Though he couldn't think of anyone really suited for Amelia, other than himself. Even at that she needed someone to be with her always. She was a great friend. Juno was the love of his life, stern and strong as a queen should be. There were times though he just needed to feel loved, and for the Fates sake don't tell that to Mars. He had enough trouble with that idiot as it, even if they did have each others back in the war. They were comrades in arms, that didn't mean they liked each other.
“So what do you think?” His breath hot in the cool night air. Tonight he made the lights dance for her, hues of green, blue, and purple shone above. The northern lights. Reflecting off the water and surrounding them in their ribbon of color. “I know they're not as beautiful as you, but out here it's kinda breath taking.” He'd even taken her to the top of the ship, holding her close so she wouldn't get cold. The last thing he needed was a pregnant woman catching the flu. Soft knit blanket wrapped snuggly around them, something he had picked up at the last port the ship stopped at. He had taken her away from camp with no notice, no bag, nothing. Anything she needed, or wanted he got for her in the shops. Then they would retire to the confiscated room, the kings suite of course, he had found empty. The king of the gods had little time to make reservations, walk in and take the rooms if no one was using them. Evict people if they were. He had stopped the elevator on the Eiffel Tower to spend some time with Amelia. A little over a month ago, which it probably where the little one came from.
