Finally war was over... finally people in New Rome and in camp Jupiter can start counting their losses... Checking around the real damage. People thought that the real damage would be the ruins, the crumbled buildings or the damaged walls... They were so wrong!! The real damage was the loss if people. Days had passed and some had still found corpses under ruins or by the boarder lines. Most of them were traitors while they were alive, but once were campers, once were innocent kids, now they were fuel for more and more pyries.

The infirmary's morgue was full of corpses, thank god for the few khione kids that were in camp, thanks to them campers had been abke to give proper pyries to each of the bodies and not to burn them all in a common one. That would have been really sad an depressing. No matter what some people thought, they had still been human beings.
"please, go and talk to praetor Stone about using the north side if the fields of mars to burn the rest of the bodies, we need to finish now so also the living can have a closure and their souls can heal too." she told to an apollo legacy then he left to find Remus.

After that, Lilith went to check on the patients, she checked Ethan first as always, she was glad that he was recovering so fast! Maye it was his Mercury high methabolism. Then she went to check on Nova and Ronan, both hyperactive, she knew she would have to let Ronan go soon, she only wanted him to be in better condition, so maybe in a couple of days. Nova was a different case but she trust she could go out by next week, it was good Ronan was in the same room and that also Lance went to visit her daily.

Then she checked on some others too, Ashby was in there too, Charlie, several people of the other cohorts too. It was good that Lilith was so organized with the patients and paper work, maybe the only thing she was organized in life with. then as always she went to the room of her best friend, Tessa Yates. She had to share room with Rhiannon Warlow... well, Rogers, so confusing at some points. the traitor was in that room to and at first she worried for her friend, but after some days, she saw that the greater danger for Tessa wasn't her room mate but herself.

She couldn't just stay on bed, she wanted to go out, to work, to check on the patients, to be productive and active, well... that wasn't possible in that moment, she was still pretty injured, even when Apollo stabilized her in the field, her body still had to heal from so many wounds and injuries, and most of them were life threatening, so... she had to obbey. Gunnar had been so helpful and so sweet with her. He had visited her daily, checking on her, even almost tying her to bed so she couldn't get off bed. she was glad and thankful for him to be around... and that he didn't get injure at all.

Lilith opened the door and looked at the beds. She looked at Tessa and at Rhiannon. Rhiannon was asleep with Joshua at her side like always. He was reading a book, she nodded at him and then checked on Rhia, she was healing well. she adjusted the bed and the vitamins she was giving her through the IV, it was still a secret, but Rhia was pregnant and she needed those more than ever. Then she walked to tessa's bed and smiled at her. "hey... how do you feel today?" she asked as she checked the monitors and the notes that Kyle had done during the night. They had split the day and he covered the night as Lilith covered the day, so there was always a 'chief' in charge at all hours.

Tessa was not what you might call a model patient. She was found out of her bed again last night, trying to organize some papers. Moving some of the equipment so people wouldn't run into it later. She hadn't torn open her stitches, but below her skin she had stayed bleeding again. Large bruises had opened up on her shoulders by morning. Kyle forced her back to bed, threatening to heal her with his life force if she didn't comply. She was only up and about for half an hour or so. It was really painful, to be so useless. She hasn't given up though. She'd do what she felt she needed to do, and that was all there was to it. Despite the physical pain she had to endure with every move, like a thousand needles in her chest. Her own sense of touch more acute than most, it wasn't pleasant when she was so badly injured. Broken ribs, broken arm, cut muscles and lungs, over worked muscles from war. Bruises everywhere. Some because of how determined she was, perhaps all from his determined she was. It just depended on the day, during war or outside of it.

The war, she left her cohort for the last few days. How pathetic. She left her medics, and her cohort. After she had begged Lord Apollo and Lady Bellona for their aid in protecting the people in her care. She failed them. She let Ryan die. Let his sister die. Cadence, she was asked by Apollo to watch her. Of course. Lilith and Cadence where more important than she was. But she could change that! If she could just work! Apollo would be proud of her, his granddaughter that could survive such vicious attacks and bounce back stronger. Perhaps even Lord Mars would be glad to call her a Roman. Remus and Jason would feel affirmed in their choice to make her a centurion, to head the medical teams. As she was now she couldn't make anyone proud.

She smiled at Lilith and eyed the chart, knowing her little excursion from last night would be on there. "I'm feeling great.... um.... I even went for a little..... walk. Nothing strenuous....." In all honesty she shouldn't have even been walking yet. She kept making it worse, reversing some of the healing every time she got out of bed. She was just too stubborn.

Lilith read the profile carefully and saw Kyle's handwriting, it was a new entrance, so she put more attention onto it. In there Kyle described how Tessa was found walking around in the halls. Lilith's eyes got a bit sadder as she read that, she couldn't undestand why Tessa couldn't simply stay in bed for a while and rest, she needed to rest if she wanted to get better, or their visit to the underworld left her such an amazing impression that she wanted to go there faster? couldn't she understand that she was needed and loved?

Lilith looked up from the chart to Tessa's eyes and then after a slight sigh she put the profile at the front of the bed and then walked back closer to Tessa's side. "Tessa, you know you must not leave your bed... you know it better than I do... why can't you understand that?" she said in a firm tone, firm but sad. Tessa was Lilith's only real friend, the only one that hadn't seen only a weak useless legacy of Mors, but a potential medic, just like Jason. Maybe Lilith was selfish and wanted to keep her alive because of that, and also because of Gunnar. Lilith knew how Gunnar was so strong, how he always seemed to never be moved, but Tessa was maybe one of the last pieces of his human side, and Lilith wasn't going to let him lose her.

She put the stethoscope on her chest and listened for a moment then slid it down Tessa's back and listened. her lungs were the same, maybe even a bit worse than last morning. Then she checked on the wounds that were on Tessa's shoulders and frowned. "I'm not playing here Tessa, we're friends, cousins, I love you as a sister, but here and now I'm your medic... your little walk from last night opened some of the stitches, and I'm sure your smashed ribs got moved too... so if you have a death wish or something, let me tell you that I don't care. my job is to save your life and I'm going to do it even if you don't want to."

Sighed and then went to write some stuff in the profile, she was telling kyle about the damage, she was also allowing him to keep Tessa tie to the bed if it was necessary. "Gunnar brought some duct tape last morning... maybe we can use it..." she thought and then looked at Tessa again. "Tessa to go back to work, you need to rest first... ok?" in that moment her voice turned into Lilith's soft sweet voice, not the firm one she used as a medic.

She understood. Better than anyone she understood what she should be doing, but she couldn't. Sit still ad rest. Don't move too much, a little bit was good, but walking around was completely out of the question. Perhaps for a minute she could be up, but if she had a patient with the same injuries she knew she'd tell them not to be out of bed at all. Weeks of bed rest, then a bit of moving would be allowed. Walking around for a half hour would be no problem after a couple weeks of rest. If she would rest. A hypocrite. She knew what she was, but something ate away inside of her when she didn't do anything. A pain gnawing at the inside of her chest. Pain worse than the injuries she had already gotten. The words floating in her mind. Worthless Useless Weak Where had those words first been spoken to her? She'd heard them before. So often before they were ingrained in her mind, a permanent description of her being. She always strained against it, always wanted to be the opposite. Prove whomever said those words wrong. She wanted to be useful. Wanted people to pay attention to her. Wanted to be loved and cared about. She could only be loved if she worked hard for it, at least that's what she thought of herself. 'No one will love me if I don't work hard. I'll be forgotten again. I'll be a burden again' She looked away from Lilith as she spoke her berating words. Like a child caught doing what they knew they weren't supposed to, sometimes Tessa had the most expressive face. All her emotions could be read from it when she wasn't trying to cover up with her acting. A guard she let down around Gunnar, Lilith, and Jason. Though she never noticed herself. It was the same habit, she could laugh easily around them but because she tried to pay attention to her own actions other wise she hardly laughed around other people. Perhaps when it was needed, but mostly she would just smile. There was no smile, or laughing, just stubbornness. She was still thinking about ways to make herself useful. “None of my stitches reopened. I made sure.” she said quietly. “Just some bruising.” Which was a form of internal bleeding, but it didn't sound as bad. Tessa wanted to make it sound light as possible, though Lilith undoubtedly knew what was happening with her injuries almost as well as she did. “My ribs are going to move a little bit, people walk around with broken ribs all the time.” Though moving the equipment did probably make them worse. Luckily Kyle hadn't seen her doing that though. “I am resting. I'm here instead of cohort practice. It was only a few minutes out of the day I walked around a bit. I stayed in bed the rest of the day, and even got six hours of sleep. Isn't that enough?” Simple answer was no, and even Tessa knew that the moment she started talking. Still she was too hard headed for her own good, and it might lead her to an early grave one day.
