Sam was in a good mood today. She was off work today and still had fresh in her mind the last date with Terry, when he’d not so accidentally put on a scary movie and not so accidentally gotten her scared to the point where she ended up staying the night with him. No, not that sort of staying the night. They had agreed they would avoid that for a while at least. It was just like when she’d stayed at his place for a handful of nights after he lost his brother in the war to help him with his nightmares and depression, only this time it had been her who hadn’t wanted to turn the lights out. But having Terry there had helped a lot. Which brought her to where she was now. She’d stayed over at his place several times now, so it was high time she repaid him, and she intended to do that within the next week at the latest. Invite him over for a nice home cooked dinner. Maybe a movie if he wanted it. She wasn’t overly creative in guessing what to do for him, she had to admit. Fixing him her best recipes was the best she could come up with. But it was the thought that counted, right?
Anyway, said best recipes required a trip to the local grocers. So she’d bundled up against the fresh new Autumn weather and set out. It wasn’t quite hat or scarf or mittens weather just yet, but a light jacket was starting to be needed. Today was right about sixty degrees. Not too hot, not too cold, but she preferred it around seventy, so yes, it was jacket weather for her. She stopped by Terry’s coffee shop – why not give business to one of the places that you worked for, right? – and got a pumpkin spice latte for the adventure to get into the Autumn spirit. So now, latte in hand and waiting to cool, she set off through the forum, not in any particular hurry, but rather just enjoying the day itself. She would get to the grocers in due time.
