Despite the fact he was single, it wasn't going to stop him from having a good time. Sure, his date was technically not single but hey, he got to her first. First come first serve. Plus with the way she had been leading him on lately. It was driving him up the wall. The harmless flirting and teasing. Geesh, way to drive him insane. Kyle liked a good game but this one was driving him mad. He just wanted Marie all to himself but she just had to be dating that stupid spark head Chris. It irked Kyle more than anything really. It wasn't everyday you met a girl as amazing as Marie. Therefore, Kyle was going to make the most of this night.

He flipped his hat in his hands before setting it on top of his head and looked himself over in the mirror, yep, he looked like the Mad Hatter alright. If only he could have convinced Marie to be Alice, then they would be going as an obvious pair, but it probably would have raised too much speculation and neither he or Marie wanted to end up on the angry end of a son of Jupiter. Kyle had heard that it was extra crispy on that side. He like to think he had a spark with women but he didn't want to end up sparked because of a woman. It just wouldn't be fair. Not with him trying to make sure the lovely, elegant, smart Marie was trying to having a good time. Kyle could be a gentleman sometimes too. In fact, he was currently on his way to pick her up from her barracks. Once he got there he knocked on the door and waited patiently for her.

She hadn’t bought her costume yet when Kyle asked her to go with him and gods, had it been tempting to go as Alice. She tried on the costume even. But oh how that Maid Marian costume had called to her. She was convinced that it looked pretty good on her and that red simply must be her color. That and she did worry a little bit that if she matched Kyle, Chris would have a fit if he found out. So Maid Marian it was. Though speaking of Chris… she’d sort of wished he’d asked her to the party. Maybe he was too busy, or maybe he hadn’t heard about it. Either way, she didn’t want to bother him with it. Plus she didn’t feel right being the one to ask him, seeing as he was really quite the gentlemanly sort and wasn’t it traditionally the guy’s role to ask the girl out. She felt a little funny about it, but that was the tradition, wasn’t it? So she felt like she might be insulting his masculinity or something by asking him. Oy vey! It was all so confusing it was making her head hurt a little. Probably also thanks to her father’s inherited genes that made her prone to this sort of mental… well, there was no better word for it than craziness. But then Kyle had just come along in his disarming way and happened to ask her if she was going and, well, she really did want to go. So here she was. She stared at herself in the mirror and took a deep breath, the better to fight the growing anxiety. Everything was going to go fine. Chris knew full well she loved him dearly. Right? He had to. She would find him tomorrow and do something special with him to make sure he knew he was still her number one.

Another couple of deep breaths and she was pretty sure she was good to go. So she straightened her dress, adjusted her hair so it sat right, then turned in front of the mirror again. Not too bad, she thought to herself. Then came a knock at the barrack door. Could be anyone, really; a couple of girls were waiting for their dates to pick them up here, but she still hiked her dress up a bit and ran to the door before the other girls could get there and opened it. “Well, look at you! You look, well, mad as a hatter!” She grinned and took the couple of stairs down to the ground. Her heals gave her a slight aid, but she was still shorter than him. Which she kind of liked. She didn’t want to tower over a guy. That would be weird. “So, my dear Hatter, shall we be off?”

When she opened the door Kyle would be lying if he didn't find her extremely attractive. He was a guy after all. No point in denying a beauty when it was right in front of him. He smirked and tipped his hat some. "That's the whole point. Next thing you know I'll be taking you to a very merry unbirthday party." Kyle joked before offering his arm to the dame. "But yes, for now it shall just be to the Halloween party." Kyle said before leading off towards the party.

"You look great by the way. You'll turn the attention of all the guys, but I'm the lucky one getting to spend the evening with ya. First come first serve, am I right? Besides, you're with the best looking guy in camp too so it's your lucky night too." Kyle said with a bit of a tease at the end. Yes, he was overly flirtation and he had a butt load of self confidence. Heck, he could probably swim in the amount of confidence the son of Bacchus had. Plus, ya know, Marie knew how to have fun and that was something he always looked for in a girl. He was a fun loving guy who saw rules as something to be messed with. I mean heck, he was nineteen year old owning a bar. What place in the United States was that even done? Obviously New Rome. Speaking of his bar, he wondered in Marie would like to hit the place after they spent their time at the party, and upon seeing how probably lame it'll be, they can have a good time. No promises in keeping it PG. But, if she wanted to stay at the party, Kyle did have a few ideas on how to make the place less stiff. Just slide a special concoction into the punch should do it.
