Skylar had taken another job for the government without telling Avetis. She needed to tell him she supposed. The thought was she would tell him at the same time she told him about what she did to Evelyn. The torture she had put the girl through. Ultimately it would break their ties, possibly mean her death. She wanted to put Avetis plans into play before dying. He had given her entertainment, though ever so slight. She had told him when they first met he had her loyalty so long as he did that. So long as she could have emotions, though they were miniscule. She didn't care about dying, yet another thing to not care about. She wanted to complete her promise though. Contracts and promises where all she had in this world without emotions. Even those contracts she could break easily, lies where nothing to her. That was what she would do to the government. She had enough information, soon she would have proof. She would give them to Avetis and tell him the whole truth. What he did with her from there was up to him. Perhaps kill her, perhaps use her until she died. Demand she undo the conditioning she had Evelyn undergo, which was impossible.
She called in for the air lift to take the monster back to base. It was for testing, since items couldn't be collected from the creatures by mortal hands. They could still try weapons on them. Determined to figure out ways to kill these monsters without the help of demigods, or legacies. Skylar hadn't heard of such a way, though it was a good idea to have a back up plan such as that. They wanted the back up plan in order to justify charging into Camp Jupiter with guns blazing. She planned to visit it in the near future. To break in during the Halloween party she had gotten wind of. Perhaps she had been wanting to see for herself the lay out of this place that Avetis and Eve had found to be a home for years of their lives. They were perhaps the closest thing to family she had. Sometimes she could recognize the faint affection she had for them. Most of the time though she felt nothing but the cold steel that was her heart now. She could accurately find what made a human human though. Without those hurtful emotions, fear, disappointment. It was the ability to think, to rationalize, to know who you were and what you were. Technically Liam was not a human by her own definition. Anyone who thought they were a monster was such. Monster or animal, since they did not recognize themselves as rational humans.
Her shoes clicked on the pavement as she made her way to the hotel she was staying at. A restaurant in the ground floor was the perfect place to sit and recover. Her body was tired from fighting the creature, and it's friends. Unfortunately she was only able to successfully capture one, the others had to die for her to remain uninjured. If she had incurred injury Avetis would ask questions, or presumably be upset at the inability of her to do other missions. She ordered a pitcher of purified water, drinking any other water in South America was a terrible idea.
