The mortal world and the….immortal world. Two very different things that were on two very different paths, two paths Logan had never thought would ever intercede and here he now knew that they did. Even after almost a year and a half of knowing that there was a whole other world beyond theirs, a world filled with gods and goddesses still shocked him. His daughter was one of those things that brought the two worlds together. Now he knew the legends, every child who went to school knew the legends of the Greek and Roman Gods, now here he was knowing that they were not legends or myths at all, they were real.
Having lived in the woods in his family cabin away from all others only caused him to get antsy. Isabella needed to be with other people and around children her own age, she would need to grow and learn to fit into society. She was going to have every opportunity in the world given to her. This little girl was his daughter and he would take care of her, hopefully he could keep her out of the reaches of that Jupiter camp, Camp Jupiter, whatever it was called. It’s not like they were all required to go there, right?
Today was one of the more free and glorious days. He had taken his little one to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and the Central Park Zoo; actually they were still in the middle of the zoo. It was so vast that it would be impossible for them to finish looking around here all in one day, that would mean they’d have to come back tomorrow but that was fine. The Snow Leopard was Isabella’s favorite and he would not mind coming back tomorrow just so she could spend all day looking at it. The way she was looking at him made him make a mental note to pick up a stuffed animal as they were leaving the zoo. She was going to love it and he could tell.
As the sun moved to late afternoon he looked around and smiled as he noticed there was an ice cream cart. Now that would be a nice treat for them. Something he had read recommended that a one year old should have frozen yogurt instead, so when he reached the cart he inquired if they had some. Once answered he got them both a scoop and paid for it. Taking the cup and Isabella, he moved them to a clear patch of grass and sat down. Making sure she was settled he then gave her the frozen treat before sitting next to her and eating his own. Yup, today was going to be a good day.
