To say that the world was at peace right now was stupid. Erich knew it. There were all sorts of things that were going on right under the demi-gods noses. Things were bubling and brewing, much like the top skim off a cauldron. Not that Erich was a fan of standing over hot cauldrons while trouble was brewing and wringing his hands and cackling like some sort of maniac. No, he left being completely crazy to his sister. That was her job. His job was to be the stable one. Sure he skived off practice at times because he wanted to read, or sleep, mostly sleep. Being awake was so hard sometimes. Erich had come to the conclusion that it was because his magic worked the best when he was awake at night. So whenever he had a really big spell he had been working on, or some project that was mostly completed by moonlight, he skipped training and slept for most of the day. But Erich had been wanting to do something fun lately. Not that he wasn't above summoning something odd to terrorize the girls locker room. Or the showers for the venus girls in his cohort. But he had something different in mind for the day. He wanted to go on an adventure. And he wanted to take someone special too. Mikayla. Gods was she so beautiful. If Erich was a poetic man, he'd compare her eyes to the ocean, but that was just tactless. And quite boorish.
He had seen his Familiar, Arden the hawk, with a note to take to Mikayla. He had hoped that she had gotten it. Erich had taken up residence at the meeting point that was requested in the note. While it was warm here, or warmer than what Erich was used to, the place he had in mind, well it was someplace different. Much more different than Camp Jupiter or New Rome. It was a place like no other in Erich's opinion. The beauty was something that Erich was incapable of describing. HE had always thought of this place to be like a painting from the pages of a fairy tale, a place lost in time that was untouched by the modern world. Of course, Erich was kidding himself. Sometimes you could only take so much of this whole Renaissance thing before you missed the modern world. Not that technology liked him anyways. It always seemed to go wrong at the worst times around him. Erich reviewed his pack, hoping that he had gotten everything he needed. A few reagents to get back, his staff, his rod, Arden, Money, his journals, and two pairs of boots, gloves, and heavy jackets. "Oh Arden I forgot the hats, can you go find them? The usual spot." The hawk chirped at him before taking off.
Erich leaned against the tree, waiting of Arden and Mika to come. Hopefully she would come, otherwise he would look quite foolish standing there with all of this stuff.
