Everyone was standing in the fields of Mars. Waiting for their beloved ones to come back safely from wherever they were held the past months. Some of them had been captive, others wereout there to find them and bring them back home. but the ones that remained in camp, the ones who were waiting for news from their beloved ones, those were the ones who didn't know what to expect and the nerves of everyone got to the ceiling. Some were upset, others were decapitating some dummies in the back, as the good Romans that they were. AMong those were the Rogers.

Joshua and Rhiannon Rogers were some of the many waiting there. they had a baby boy but he was at home with Joshua's brother, Rick. Josh was standing there next to Rhia and as it was common in a son of Mercury, he wasn't just standing there waiting. He was pacing and then walking in circles around RHia, then again pacing next to her. there was even an already getting deeper hole right under him. He was also speaking to himself, reminding him that Edmund was a strong roman, so no matter what those demonic people do to him, he would be fine. Also he was worried to death for Ethan, who was in the rescue team.

"why is it taking so long to them to come back?!" he was getting to his limit, the back of his neck already started to tingle as always as he was holding back a teleportation. He had wanted to go and help them, but he hadn't done it because he had already given Rhiannon too many heart attacks by being away in a quest, then in war, then captured, he couldn't do that to her again, not again and not unless Arthur Sebastian or Rhia were in danger.

Call her a paranoid mom, but Rhiannon didn't exactly trust little Rick with a baby. He never actually grew up in her eyes, still a kid himself. Josh tried to quell her concerns a bit, but it took asking Mercury to keep an eye on the two before she was anything less than jittery about the whole thing. Edmund coming back home after torture. She knew torture first hand, knew Josh had been tortured. Now Edmund. She was only being torn apart for a week, they had been there a month each. It was really the same thing everyday, they seemed to flow together endlessly. The sleep deprivation was what had really gotten to her. Pain was nothing new, pain was normal for the legion. When they got in your head though, that was different. That's what the woman did to Josh. Still did, sending that picture. How could that blond idiot have been the same woman who tortured Josh? She acted like there was no sense in her head. It was her, Josh knew that face. For that kind of thing you didn't forget. A face, the particular foot steps of your 'friend', things like that stuck with you. Nightmares for a long time to come. If her childhood was any indication the nightmares wouldn't end for a decade at least. If ever. She kept far away from other people, nervous as her heart pounded in her chest. Anxious, her hand trembling ever so slightly. She stood there with her arms crossed so they couldn't see. Her face the mask of bitter anger it had been all of her time here. Though she shifted, back and forth, nervously. Looking around, scratching her head, nudging at a rock on the ground. Little movements that by themselves weren’t much. Over and over again on the other hand, they proved how she felt. Things she tried to not show on her face, in her voice, but that still came out. Josh was even worse off, pacing. Wearing a hole into the ground. “Josh, killing everything under you by pacing isn't going to help.” she said as she anxiously tapped her foot herself. “Because they aren't you, they aren't all Mercury kids. It'll be fine.” she tried to convince him, and herself. She was thinking the same things really. Why weren't they here yet? What was taking so long? Was someone hurt? They didn't leave anyone behind. It wasn't the Roman thing. It wasn't Ed, or Ethan's thing. They'd bring them back. Everyone.

Inside I realize that I'm the one confused. I don't know what's worth fighting for, or why I have to scream. I don't know why I instigate and say what I don't mean. I don't know how I got this way, I know it's not alright.. Tag: Ed, Josh Words: 420 OOC: yay

let's play a game: dream, hallucination, or r e a l i t y ? Edmund had never gotten sick during all of his shadow travels and teleportation. Both Felicity and Ethan had dragged him places, and all he had gotten was slightly nauseous. Never anything like this though. First time for everything, he supposed. Not that there was much to chuck up, but he did get sick to his stomach. He didn't suppose having it tinged with blood was good either, but right now, he didn't care. He was really tired and just... bleh. Then again, he didn't really have much to complain about. He hadn't been the only one to go through all of it. He was probably even one of the luckier ones. He hadn't taken account of all his injuries, although that probably would've been a good idea. Truth was, he had stopped keeping track after his second interrogation. Someone had looked at him before he had been teleported though... He wondered what the damage was. He wondered what he looked like. Probably something akin to someone run over by a bus or repeatedly slammed into a wall. Nothing anyone wanted to see on a daily basis. Good thing he didn't have a mirror. He remembered saying he was fit to stay, that he wasn't too bad, that he was fine. On automatic. No no, he really was fine. He could stand and walk and talk, but then he felt someone teleport him.  He exhaled, wincing slightly as pain radiated throughout his chest. He had to try to snap himself back together as much as he could. Had to make his nausea pass. Had to not to pass out. Had to... do what, really? He couldn't remember anymore. Don't tell them anything, right... right... Better save up energy... His body wanted out, but something in the back of his mind nagged at him, reminding him to stay conscience. Something in his mind connected that he was standing up and in a field, not in a cell. His hands were drawn together in habit, forgetting that he wasn't handcuffed.  You're a Roman, for gods sakes get it together. Rebound. Do something. Move. You could get caught.  So, he listened. He took a few wobbly steps froward, trying to ignore the shoots of pain wracking throughout his body. It felt ten-fold as bad as when Remus broke his arm. He dimly wondered if it was possible to break someone's entire skeleton. He muddled through his thoughts and came up with the conclusion that it was entirely possible to break every bone in the body, given enough time. Edmund blinked, trying to clear the blurred vision. He could hear noise, muffled and slow. Things were moving around him. People were disappearing and reappearing. He had been brought somewhere. Somewhere... where? They were taking me back to camp. I'm back at camp, right? Gods, why couldn't he remember?   My... everything hurts, can I go back to sleep? Wow. Wanting to go to sleep. Isn't that a change of tune? He blinked a few more times and the world started to come into focus. There were clusters of people. Worried faces. What are they all standing around for? I hate crowds.... Two people did catch his attention though. They were standing a bit apart from the other people. As if they had an aversion to crowds too. After a few more blinks, their features came into sharper view. Josh and Rhia his mind prompted him. Josh and Rhia.... he must be back at Camp. He forced himself to move forward, towards them, trying to ignore the multiple pains radiating through his body and head. He didn't let himself feel bask in any real excitement or relief since, a second later, he felt sick again. Pacing wasn't helping anyone, yes!! he knew that very well. But he couldn't stay like a statue all the time. First of all his bare DNA didn't allowed him to be like that, motionless. He just couldn't do that! his entire body was about to burst in a teleporting poofing vacant place, but he controled himself. He knew that Rhia was nervous too, he could tell by the nano-movements that her body did. People wouldn't notice the difference between her usual moves and the ones that betrayed her calm face and almost motionless body. He breathed deeply and looked at her, then leaned and kissed the top of her head. It was a silent reply to her words, a silent and loving way to tell her that he understood her point and that she should remember her own words too.

Suddenly shadows moved and some missing people popped out of them, then the very well known sound, by Josh, of teleportation. Other campers campre from that one. Josh looked up and didn't really noticed who had taken back to camp to whom. He only noticed the confused, hurt and emaciated faces from all those poor campers and residents of New Rome that had been abducted from their home. finally they were back and he recognized the actions, they way they looked around and tried to find the place where they lived in that new place... new for them. Even if people in Camp thought that nothing had changed, for those tortured and left in cofussion, Camp was new and different, which increased the feeling of being an outsider, someone that didn't belong to that place anymore. It was the friends and family of those lost souls, to remind them that they were still part of them.

"Rhia... look!" He said pointing at the place where most of the campers were, he looked at all of them, he suddenly noticed the slender figure of the hermit boy that he had learnt to love as much as he loved Rick or Ethan or Lance. Edmund had a place in Josh's heart a brother, nothing less than that. "Come on!" he held her hand and walked semi fast among the people in there, he slightly push some of them so Rhia didn't have to touch any of them. "Edmund!!" He pulled Rhia till they were in front of the Vulcan hermit. "Gods... you looks like something Cerberus chewed and spitted out!" teassing him but offering his arm as support.

It was impossible to hide anything from Josh, except that she loved him. Some how she could hide that and he'd believe her, which was absolutely stupid. His breath on the top of her head calmed her a little bit. Her mind stopped racing for a few moments, imagining all the scenarios that might have occurred. The memories that it drove up, putting Edmund in those situations, and fearing for him. Wanting him to come home whole, and unharmed. It was a little too much to hope for, but that's what she wished. Her mind went to the bone scraping sounds, the white hot pain. A bit of a spasm went through her, and a twitch of her lip. “He'll be okay. He'll be okay." with a soft voice she spoke more to herself than to Josh. Trying to quell the voice in her mind that told her different things. Josh's warmth beside her helped keep the voices at bay. His silent words of comfort eased her demons. Though when his body stiffened she became alert, looking for what he had seen. Her arm around his lower back, thumb against his side rubbing against the shirt. Taking her hand, Josh moved forward toward what he had seen. Edmund. Moving her feet, one in front of the other. It wasn't difficult to spot him, dazed and confused as he looked. Everyone else had a different feel about them, something even Rhiannon could tell. Though she wasn't exactly someone who was great with people, or judging what you should say to people. In fact she probably said the exact opposite of what she should most of the time. Though she got better, when she started to lie for Saturn. It wasn't something she was proud of, getting to be a better liar. Better at faking interest and personality. It helped her in this one case though, and she was happy it helped in some way. “Edmund!" her pace picked up a little bit as they got closer, even with Josh helping pull her though the crowds. Oh how she hated crowds, but this was her family. She needed to get to him, see how he was doing. Oh yeah, he looked worse for the wear. Teams of people seemed to be going around taking care of injured quickly. Ushering people to the infirmary. Not that Rhiannon cared what other people where doing at the moment, but what she did kept the nurses and doctors from immediately dragging Edmund to the infirmary. She healed him. Not exactly gently she grabbed his face in her hands. “Idiot what did you do? Mouth off to them?" Actually it seemed like exactly what he would do. What any of them would do. Stupid family, doing stupid things. It actually took a few spells for her to be satisfied. One to put the bones back in place, another to get his blood vessels to be in some what working condition again, something for the aches and pains that came from magical travel. Shadows or teleportation left headaches and nausea. She had to learn how to treat Josh when he was stupid enough to teleport three or four times in a row. Across the world. “Obviously Cerberus wasn't ready for the indigestion."

NIGHTMARE DAYDREAM OR R E A L I T Y You're fine, You're fine. You're okay. You're standing. You're breathing. Keep moving. In all honesty, Ed wasn't sure how much further he could force himself before his body decided crumple and shut down. From the amount of pain he was feeling, he made a groggy determination that he shouldn't've even be standing, let alone walking. Heck, he wasn't supposed to do a lot of things, yet he did them... Sure, he had a pretty high threshold for pain, but this kinda just made him want to curl up and not exist. Then again, when he thought about it, that was what he was doing in the cells to some extent. Through slightly blurred vision, he could see people around him in stretchers. A steady line of people leaning on others, making their way in the general direction of the infirmary. He dimly remembered himself vowing to never let anyone treat him medically unless he was on the brink of death. Didn't he do that while he was with the Doctor. Gods that seemed so long ago.... Not that this had become almost as bad as when Lyn had found him during the war, but it had become almost as bad, possibly worse. He didn't know. Meaning you should probably get there ASAP. No. 'mnotgoing. Don't want to. Someone assessed him after he got broken out of the cell, but couldn't remember if they had ever talked to him or if he answered. There were blank spots cropping up all over the place. He'd be in the interrogation room, and then with no memory of how or when he got back, he'd be back in his cell. What had happened? Sedatives? A physical knock out? He could never remember. But no matter that now... it'd become what the fire had been, what the two wars had been, what the quest had been. Another experience to fuel his nightmares. Another flashback to play on rewind. But right now, all he could think about was getting closer to Josh and Rhia. They must've caught sight of him at one point. He heard his name and saw them making a beeline for him. As they got closer though, Edmund's mind seemed to temporarily jam. Despite his desperate want to freeze on the spot, the nagging voice egged him forward. The closer they got though, the more uneasy he became. They won't hurt me, right? I'm safe with them, I think? Why do they even keep me around, they're going to hate me. Wait. Why was he even questioning these things? They just made his head hurt more. And then they were infront of him. Usually Ed wouldn't have taken the offer of Josh's arm, but he had made it this far by keeping in motion. He didn't want to drop just because he stopped moving. So, he reached out and held on. "N'dsbetters'lection'vechewtoys..." he muttered, not even sure if he made sense himself. He couldn't help the flinch when Rhia grabbed his face. For the past few weeks, he had been associating anything weapon like coming at him with pain. Had to start to disassociate that. He had to get back into training and the forge and everything. But as Stone liked to implement, the best teacher was pain. Right. Her method of directly showing that she was worried usually came in spats of "idiot" and being semi-rough. Not that far from what he'd do. At her question he gave a slight nod, trying to ignore the spikes of pain. And then she started healing him. He did his best to stay put and not recoil from the touch. At least it'd save him from being directly shipped to the infirmary. Plus, Rhia wouldn't hurt him. No, if anything she was helping by healing. Sure, maybe she'd grab his fast or Gibbs slap him for being an idiot, but she'd never intentionally, severely hurt him. ....right? After it was over, he straightened slightly. For Joshua it wasn't clear if Edmund was capable to walk on his own or not, but if he was half injured that he had been when he escaped the government cells, then he for sure couldn't walk at all. But giving his arm and side to his quest brother wasn't something out of this world, he just didn't want Edmund to fall to the ground. that would be awfuly hard for someone with such a pride. He walked with him no more than a step or two when rhia jumped over Edmund as if she was a hen mom caring for her chicken. Checking his face, his wounds, asking questions that were for sure more than obvious. If Edmund had mouthed them off... well for sure he did! "Of course he did... he mouth off them all, remember we got a crazy brother."

He supported Ed's weigth on his arm, leg and side as Rhia was checking on him. He looked around and saw how nurses ran with some of those who were in critical condition. some didn't look beat up at all, in fact they looked just pale and starved. He eyed that little girl from second, the one who is crippled. She looked so pale and not awake. that for sure wasn't right, what did they do to her? to a little girl in her conditions!? The thought made him mad again. then he looked around others didn't look that bad, they were walking and talking, hugging their friends or their lovers... or all of them.

Joshua had been paranoid since he had gotten back, maybe it was that feeling that mental process which made him feel that they shouldn't be out there. It was Camp, it was safe... right? or wasn't it? He looked back at rhia and Edmund and worried for Ethan, where was that broccolli head?! He feared for his brother's life, he should have gone with them! He frowned and then looked at Edmund and Rhia. "don't use all your energy or I'll have to drag your sorry butts to the infirmary and I know very well how much you to adore it." He smirked and then for a slight moment he breathed in relief, he had almost all of his family safe, then he saw Ethan, so he was relieved.

He would go to the temple hill and give a lot of offerings, he needed the gods to know he was thankful for all what they have done for all of them. then he heard Edmund talking and made him frown, not even he understood him. "come again?"
