Notes: first roman not ashamed to go to the infirmary XD

Well, in a military camp it was normal for people to go a train, early in the morning and sweat till they were totally worn out, then go back to the barracks or the mess hall, eat and sleep. There was also the extreme activities where people for sure would get injured at some points, but everything was part of the elite training... right? In camp jupiter is was like that, the legionaries woke up early and went to train. Some cohorts trained harder than others, yet all of them trained hard those days. That was appliable to the peaceful son of Mars.

Kenshin woke up early and as every morning he went to the fields of Mars to meditate as always before training and then he trained very hard. He went then to the obstacle curse and trained for another hour. he was almost leaving the place to go get a nice hot bath when he saw one of the kids that just got to Camp last summer. The kid had been probatio for already 6 months, but he didn't seem to improve at all. Maybe he was a son of a non fighting god, who knew?! all what Kenshin knew was that he wasn't going to let an innocent kid get all beat up by the obsacle curse!

Heran to the place where the kid was an moved as fast as he could to get that kid out of there. He was already hurt, several broken ribs and his leg was twisted in a weird angle, Kenshin was usre a normal leg didn't turn like that. then he saw the problem, some Mercury kids from fourth thought it was too funny to leave the kid with the highlevel course. Kenshin could have passed it in no time, but the kid couldn't so he lifted on his back and ran to the exit. As soon as they were out he told the kid to be patient, that he would take him to the infirmary.

He got there with the kid and a guy held the kid and took him to a room. Kenshin stood there, he didn't realize that he was dropping blood from a gash on his left arm to the perfectly polished floor.

Popoff Pavlov Krupin had not seen a real doctor, a person practicing medicine with a medical license, in a number of years. His grandmother had been right about going to get a physical so he could get a legitimate list of his aches, pains, and medical problems. The legacy had been hurting for so long he forgot that he was hurting. Popoff found the adaptability of the human body amazing since it could ignore so much pain for so long. After the first night in a real bed however, Popoff realize how much of his body did hurt. His joints creaked like an old man, muscles sore as being hit by a train, and a body feeling twenty years older then what it was. This was the legacy of Krupin's ten year journey.

Popoff sat in the corner of the waiting room where he had view of anyone entering the door without being in the direct view of anyone walking into the infirmary, which was the probably for the best since Krupin tend to scare off a lot of people. Popoff's brown leather fedora was covering his red demon like eyes from everyone who was and would be standing. Between his eyes and his deathly pale skin, most people keep a good distance from him. His lack of meals over his quest had brought down his BMI to probably an unhealthy low. His skin on his face hugged his cheek and jawbones too tight giving off the impression of the undead. The silver color scars on his face were nigh invisible unless you got too close to his face, but a red scab on the side of his neck from where a man tried to take off his head a couple of days ago made it look like his throat was partially slit. Krupin's nose was crooked from being broken a couple of different times and never being set strait. Popoff looked like walking death on the best of days and today it was worse due to the black bags underneath his eyes from the lack of sleep on his too small and uncomfortable bed.

The receptionist looked like she wanted to faint when he checked in. Krupin tried to reassure her with a smile, but that seemed to only make it worse. Popoff's canine teeth protrude a little bit further out then most people giving the illusion of fangs and his smile was missing some teeth from when they were pulled out from torture. Krupin had not looked into enough mirrors to get the real grasp of how monstrous his appearance had became over the past ten years. Most of it could be fixed with a trip to a dentist, eating healthily, and a couple of nights good rest. The receptionist did her best to ignore Popoff.

Krupin's long snow white hair was in a long braid, but instead of going down to his mid-back like normal—Popoff had it lay on his chest so he didn't accidentally sat on it. His brown leather coat mimicked the color of Popoff's hat. Krupin's pants were a darker brown then his coat and his kackie oxford style hiking shirt fitted well on the man. Popoff heard Kenshin and the other boy rushed into the infirmary and watched as the doctor's rushed out to help the boy. The direction his leg was bending made Popoff feel a bit nauseous, but he manage to keep himself from getting more pale then his usual deathly pale. The first thing Popoff notice about Kenshin was that he was bleeding on the floor. The floor was the one thing in the room more white then him and somewhere deep down inside he found it to be hilarious. He couldn't let this opportunity go by. “Bout time,” Popoff said in his deep voice, “I thought the floor could use a bit more red on it. Glad someone else agreed.” Krupin gave his best smile while looking up at Kenshin.

Kenshin smiled when the medic took the boy away. He had never liked to see people in pain or in troubles, so when he knew the boy was going to be fine he felt well and sighed in relief. Then he was about to leave when suddenly he heard a voive mentioning somehting about adding some red to the inmaculated floor. He knit his brows and looked down at the floor, there he saw the red coming from drops of his own blood. He lifted his arm and calmly checked the damage in his arm. He sighed knowing it would have been going to need some stitches and a bandage, maybe some nectar or ambrosia to make it heal faster. He was no medic, but he knew more or less what would a wound need to be healed, it was needed knowledge in any battle, just in case one was wounded. Then he looked at the man who just talked to him.

He for sure was different from what he had seen before in camp. Many olderly soldiers had numerous scars on their bodies from the multiple battles they had been. The ones who had been gladiators in the Circus Maximus were the ones with most of them! So when Kenshin saw the man in front of him, he wasn't shocked or didn't react in a frightened way. He only thought that maybe that man had been in more battles than his body would have wanted. "well, it wasn't really my intention to do it, I hadn't realize about the gash in my arm." he said calmly as if he only had a paper cut on his arm instead of a nasty gash on it that was deep and uneven.

He approached the man and then he noticed how skinny he was, how many scars he really had and not only the ones that he had seen from the other side of the reception. It seemed that he had hit a minotaur with his face for a while, his nose wasn't on the right way, maybe broken on battle. His neck had a fresh wound and he could tell that the man should be on a hospital bed. "sugoy!! *great*" you got a lot of wounds! from battles I can tell." he said and then grinned at them man in his own personal way of being calm always and joyful. "you should let a medic check that neck wound..." he just said and then half bowed. "I'm Yukiyama Kenshin, or as they say here... Kenshin Yukiyama." he said and then looked again at the man. He had placed his hand on his wound to stop te bleeding, but hadn't called a medic yet, he was more interested on the man.

Popoff instantly was tempted to go for his hidden dagger and stab Kenshin for smiling at him. The only people to smile at Popoff for the past five years were those who thought they were about to kill him or those who thought they were about to capture him. When he got home from his quest, his entire family greeted him with smiles, but they were crying as well. It felt wield to have someone smile at him in a friendly manner. Popoff manage to keep the urge of hostility off of his face and brought his thought presence back to where he was. The kid in front of him was acting interested him and that was foreign to him. Krupin did not actaully have any kind of social interaction with someone in ten years besides for witty banter. Well if witty banter got him through a couple thousand miles—it could surely get him through a conversation with a boy almost a decade younger then him.

Popoff replied in his deep voice, “The name is Popoff Pavlov Krupin the second,” Krupin pushed up on the brim on the front of his hat with his index finger allowing his forehead allowing him to not have to keep his neck at such an odd angle. Popoff turned his neck to flex the lean muscles in it to give Kenshin a better view of the injury. Then he smiled out a epigrammatic reply, “Oh this little thing vould have killed me three days ago if it was leathal. I vouldn't concern myself with infection either cause I rubbed a mixture of lemon juice and salt into it and that tends to prevent that most of the time” Popoff probably would have died three times over from infection if his sister, Alyonna, (Legacy of Ceres) teaching about natural remedies and how to identify edible plants.

Popoff finished up his reply, “I am just here for my free after quest physical and to get tested for some...” Popoff tried to be not so blunt about his sister's sterilization problem and about how he was the last hope for his family line to continue on. Krupin hadn't have a conversation in some time, but talking about a family medical issue like that with a minor was a social faux pas. “...some family medical issues that recently came up,” Popoff tried to finish up the brief pause as quickly as he could. The demigod stretch his legs out in the chair along with his arms. Popoff had been waiting for the doctor for about half an hour now and it was probably going to take longer now since they have a serious medical issue to take care of for now.

Notes: lol yay sort of muse!

Kenshin looked at Popoff as he showed him the cut on his throat. He was totally right, it didn't look infected at all, and it even looked as if it was healing. maybe he should take some good sips from nectar and cubes of amrosia, but he was right about not dying about that wound. then Kenshin started noticing the many scars, those that he hadn't oticed before. this man really seemed to be a son of Mars by the number of scars in his body, but would that be accurate? no it wasn't, at least he didn't think it would. He had red eyes like his father, the all mighty Mars, but they didn't push Kenshin's soul to feel an unleashed rage that would make him fight till the end, like Mars' eyes did. "Still I think you should let some of the medics look at that. They could help you get it healed faster."

then the guy told him the reason why he was there. But Kenshin didn't get it quite well. So the man had recently been in a quest? but he looked older than the rest of campers, Ken thought he would have been a civilian, not a camper. It hadn't been quests in a year more or less. "a quest?" he asked and then tried to remember another quest that had happened recently, maybe before the quest for the relic. "excuse me but when were you sent to a quest?" he asked trying not to be unpolite, he didn't want to sound rude or worse. "I thought you already were a civilian, sir." Ok he had just called him old! that wasn't right. But Kenshin was really curious about it.

Then the man talked about a family health problem. Kenshin felt bad for the poor guy. Some people in camp had some illnesses that came from their human side, and other that came from their godly side. He then wondered what kind of illness would it be. But he knew it wasn't his concern to matter about. "I hope you and your family are ok, that the illness isn't too bad." He felt a bit dizzy, the cut in his arm was deeper than he thought and the drops or blood had already made a small pond by his feet. He looked down at it and frowned at it. He would need some stitches for sure. "I'm... sorry I think I should find a doctor. or do you happen to have some lemon and salt with you." he said and smiled at the man.

Popoff shrug off the first comment about seeing a doctor about the neck injury. Krupin had became accustom to taking savage and deadly blows from monsters and people for a long time. He started to doubt if anyone ever was going to be able to kill him, but he wasn't going to push his luck by starting any fights. The young kid seemed pretty tough not freaking out too much about the injury on his arm. The legacy just didn't know if Kenshin was trying to act tough to impress him, was a son of Mars and could just take it, or just had a high pain tolerance. Krupin secretly wished it was the first choice. Nobody had tried to impress him in a very long time and normally it was Popoff who did the impressing.


Popoff remembered about the day he left for his quest a little bit over ten years. It seemed not that long ago that he was smiling—overjoyed with the feeling that he finally beat his sister at something Mars-ish related. Krupin wonder what life would had been like if he never left, but looking into the past did nothing but get the man depress. Popoff looked at Kenshin and said, “I think it was ten years ago now. Hard to keep track with all the overall excitement of the trip.” He snicked before continue in a sarcastic manner, “IT vas great. I ended up in Chile and valk my vay back here. I participated in a lot of interesting festivities like pissing off Amazons about every fifty miles, being crucified by a bunch of morons with no clue vhat they vere doing, being torture by a madman with a tooth fetish, and many more fun activities. I vould recommend the trip for anybody.” Popoff hid the anger with sarcastic humor in his voice. Popoff's life had been anything but easy, but no reason to dump that on the kid. He like Kenshin, he was cute...like a kitten, a very fluffy overzealous kitten.

Popoff reached into his messenger bag to call Kenshin's 'bluff'. Krupin honestly did not have a clue why he carried it around with him anymore. It wasn't like he was ever in a life or death situation anymore, but he still carried around some simple stuff in it. Popoff pulled out a lemon, a salt shaker, a small knife, some string, and a needle. The young man held the items up to Kenshin to answer his last question and to see if Kenshin was really trying to bluff him. Lemon and salt burns to all holy Hades when put in an open wound. “My family vill be fine,” Popoff blurted out while holding his improvised medical kit, “It isn't life threatening, just...inconvenient for certain things.” Popoff did not know whether or not if he wanted to be sterile or not. If he was sterile, then his family would probably not try to push him into a relationship with somebody in the New Rome area, but that would mean never having kids if he did ever getting married. Though if Popoff was not sterile, it would mean exactly opposite of that.
