No Light {Apollo}

She was four when her mom taught her how to ice skate. Having lived in Colorado growing up winter sports tended to be a must in the area. Snowball fights, building snow men, skiing, ice skating, you name it Felicity probably tried it in the years before going to camp. Though she was skilled in ice skating. She found peace in it. There was a forest a couple miles behind her house that held a huge pond that would freeze over in the middle of fall and not thaw until Early April. Whenever Felicity wanted alone time she would grab her skates and go out there. Now was a time she wanted alone time. Despite having had enough alone time during her time locked up she really wanted some right now. Having had a couple of weeks with people constantly checking up on her and asking if she was okay was starting to get to her. She told people she was and she honestly felt she was but she still had nightmares and was wary of Chris now and lightning and it was storming in Camp Jupiter currently and at the first sound of thunder she shadowed out of there searching for a calming place. Hence the lake. After a quick walk to the local sports store she found herself with a pair of ice skates and winter jacket and set forth on taking to the ice.

After practicing a spin in the center of the ice she let her feet go on autopilot as she skated along the side of the lake letting her head think on its own. However, once she found herself thinking on a rather sensitive subject she hugged herself and closed her eyes trying to think on happier memories. Suddenly her mind found herself thinking of the horses she had befriended at Apollos villa. That was a happy moment, a warm one even. She wondered if Apollo had lost anyone because of the government. They had taken demigods and who knows how many children of legacies of his had the misfortune of being taken into that place. Just thinking about it made her heart hurt.

Deciding to take her mind off of depressing topics once again she looked at the vacant ice and a small smile fell onto her face. She rubbed her hands together and started gaining speed before skating towards the center and kicking herself off the ice and spinning in the air landing almost perfectly, just becoming a bit off balanced which she had luckily regained within a few moments causing her to laugh at herself in enjoyment for even pulling off a jump like that.

The world was wide and extense. It held in it an amazing amount of living creatures. All and each of them made and meant to be for some specific reason, even the viruses were made for something. The Gods and Titans had been cautious in the creation of everything, even chaos had to be real. and among all the planets in the solar system, it was the only one with life in it. well, human life that was the god's favorite. For admiration, for pleasure, for excitement or for fun, but their favorite it was.

Apollo didn't know what got his father to create so many of the things in that blue planet, but apollo in fact loved it. The life in it, plants, animals, rocks, all the realms in nature. humans were also his favorite among animals. Intelligent, innovative, but also indesisive, irrresponsible. that if they didn't mix also other kind of their traits, like compassive or selfishness. Apollo loved all of that in them. they were very interesting creatures for him. he had always tried to help them, maybe that was why he was also a god of so many things, he learnt them first so then he could teach them to humans and they could be better.

Also he had his favorite humans, not only in present days, but he had had favorite ones since the very beginning of his life! He had loved all of them and in many ways. some of them had even given him children who he had adored and tried to protect above everything. while those he loved, he tried the best for them, but never really interfered in their fates, only... helped a bit. And he always had an eye on them while they were alive. One of those was a daughter of Pluto. Felicity Weingarten was her name and he had developed some special love for her. it was beyond the sexual and lust atraction that he usually felt for some humans. This one was different.

So the moment she left Camp Jupiter, he sensed out there in the world. He then got curious about what would she be doing this time out there in the world. finally she was going down the right path, so he didn't want her to be found by discordia again and made her lost her path and fate once more. He followed her vital force to a beautiful place, it was covered in snow and it could easily be a beautiful landscape. Then there she was, like a graceful nymph. he hoped Khione didn't look at her or would like her for herself. He walked closer, wearing only some jeans a polo and sneakers. as if instead of around 10F was above 80F! "That was a nice move."

As soon as Felicity heard the familiar voice she was shocked and ended up losing her balance on the ice, falling right on her butt yet she still turned to look at him the best she could with a bright smile on her face. "Apollo! Wait, what are you wearing, it's freezing." Felicity said with a laugh as she pushed herself up off the ice and skated over to the edge of the pond he was at. She would have stepped off the ice and gone in for a hug but ice skates didn't really work on snow and it would take her far too long to switch her shoes.

"So what brings you all the way out here to the middle of nowhere Colorado? I didn't think the Sun God would be anywhere this cold. " Felicity asked the Sun God who had greatly peeked her curiosity over why he was here. Not that she wasn't happy to see him, she was always happy to see him. She owed her sanity to him, but it had been a couple of months since the last time they talked, before she was abducted and experimented on and had a whole new set of nightmares to plaque her already hellish subconscious. But still, she tried to keep her mind off of the bad thing and held more onto the good memories she had. At least she wasn't as bad as Chris, he was having memory trouble. Luckily for Felicity she didn't show any signs that their experimentation worked on her. But still, she couldn't help if it was just laying vacant in her head and she was too afraid at the possibility of what would happen if it stopped being dormant and decided to control her like.

She had finally got her life back together. She had her own place in New Rome again and she was happy with Remus again. Things were finally start to look up and she was determined not to let it fall apart again. But still, look at Chris, obviously what they were working was having some affect and while it was true he was the first test subject and got a majority of the treatment she was second. She had no idea how far they went, her subconscious deciding to pull those memories to the deep abyss of her mind so she wouldn't dare try to open that again and end up with a mental breakdown. She was more fragile than before, not that she would admit that. She was a china cup hiding in a cupboard for protection but at the smallest bump she faced the prospect of possible falling and breaking again.

Visiting people had become one of Apollo's favorite activities since Jupiter allowed them to do it. So he had gone to every place where his kin had been. He had gone to Honolulu to visit a 10 year old Legacy who was an amazing baseball player. He had gone to Siberia to visit a pair of twins, male and female, that were very good hunters. He had gone to Africa too and to Asia, even to Mexico. He had been very busy visiting all of them, he was tired and needed a moment to himself, but he hadn't taken it, he still had some stuff to do.

but when he decided to visit Felicity, she wasn't his kin but he had learnt to love her as that, he decided to put his attention on her, so he only left a conscience riding the sun's carriage and the other was with Felicity. He had seen her skating and he had loved it. She looked so beautiful, so peaceful. He smiled at her but then worried a bit when she fell down, he hadn't wanted to make her fall, so he shook his head and walked a bit closer only to see if she needed anyhelp, which she didn't, ofcourse... a legionary like her, wouldn't need help after something as innocent as a skating fall.

then she mentioned something about his clothes, he looked down and chuckled. He kept walking and his clothes suddenly changed, he work winter pants, snow boots, termic shirt and a ski jacket. "is this better?" he was always hot and unless he decided to share his corporal heat with someone, he wouldn't get frost, but sometimes it eased the humans' mind to see them in clothes that fit with the place where they were. Reason why he changed them, not because he was cold.

"Well, I wanted to visit my favorite demigod which is not related to me." smiles widely, he looked in that moment not much older than she was. He really enjoyed being with her and usually that made him feel younger. "tell me, why didn't you tell me that you could be related to Khione?" laughs and then lifts a brow. "I go whenever sun is... and well, there are beautiful places with snow, have you seen how snow reflects sun light? the migic it does?" He replied about what he was doing in a place with snow. He loved art and what snow did with light was more than art, it was like a miracle.

Felicity just gave him a smile when he said she was his favorite demigod not related to him. Her eyes meanwhile gave a playing look of "Really, like I believe that." Okay, maybe she did a little bit, but that was besides the point. In general she was just happy to see him. Totally unexpected, but happy nonetheless. Visits from friends were always nice after all and not many people could say that they were close friends with a god.

A laugh escaped her lips. A daughter of Khoine? No, while it would be cool she wasn't related at all to that goddess of winter. She did know of one of her daughters, Zoe, she had been in the fourth cohort with Felicity. And while she didn't agree with her no fighting ways she still admired her powers, having always been a fan of winter herself. "Well, dear Apollo, that would be because I'm not related to her, even if that would be extremely cool. No pun attended." Felicity said with a slight laugh at the realization of her word choice. Then as he talked about the snow she found herself looking out at the frozen terrain. It was pretty cool looking. The way the sun reflected off the snow.

It added to the magic Felicity use to believe when she was little. She thought that the snow blanketed the earth in a pure white and it while the plants did die beneath it, it was allowing the Earth to sleep before it could be reborn during Spring again. Plus untouched snow just has something magical about it, calming. She use to get in trouble when she was little for wandering too far off, just to leave her footprints in the white terrain. She was always getting in trouble just because she was fascinated but odd things like that.

"You're right, it's almost like magic. Though, one of my friends when I was younger said it would make sense to wear sunglasses in the snow since the sunlight is more intense due to the reflection. Can't say I don't agree with them. But I'd rather hurt my eyes so that I could admire the beauty of it better." Felicity said with a slight smile as she continued to slowly skate so as not to lose her balance again by just standing still on the thin blades of the skates.

The sun in that day wasn't the hottest one, it was more kind of warm, with some dim light, it was perfect to go out and have some fun in the snow, to go up the hill and ski for some hours. Apollo loved a snowy day, people thought that he only liked hot places, places where the sun was perfectly seen and it was as hot as to fry an egg on a rock. some days he really liked those places and hot burning days. But other days he didn't, other days he mostly loved places where he could rest and relax, places where he knew that the sun wouldn't kill everything in a matter of hours if they didn't find a shadowed place. He liked warm places, with soft breeze, maybe even a cool or cold breeze that would make people love the warmth of the Sun even more. He adored being loved and needed!

"Well, maybe not a snow princess, but for sure you were born for this activity. why did you leave it? you could do it at camp too, why don't you?" he asked as he smiled at her and then slowly walked deep over the the lake. People could think that he would melt the surface right away, but he could diminish his warmth if it was needed. He started skating on the ice, sports were his thing too, after all he started Olympics so why not? He wasn't super perfect in the snow sports, but he could really be at home with all those snowy sports. He got some speed and jumped to make a reverse spin, then he landed gracefully and then skated back to where Felicity was. He smiled at her in his usually flirty way, even when he wasn't being flirty at her at all.

"Come on, let's do some pair work." He offered her his hand, his clothes were the proffessional figure skating ones. but they were like the costumes that Katniss and Peeta wore in the second movie. with the fake flames all around him also. He wanted her to touch his hand, because the moment she would finally do it, her clothes would also change to be the matching ones for his suit. "and I'd really wouldn't like your eyes to get hurt by... the sun." He smiled softly at her, she meant a lot, she was maybe his first female human friend! nothing romantic there! So he liked it.

Felicity didn't really have an answer to his question. Why didn't she do it at camp? She supposed she could have seeked out Zoe and ask her if she would be interested in ice skating. Being a daughter of Khoine Felicity would assume she would love snow sports. But, she never did. Not even when they shared a cohort. She just didn't feel comfortable at the thought of ice skating in camp. She had always done it alone and was able to enjoy the peace of it. Actually even with Apollo here it was kind of awkward. She had never skated in front of anyone before, not even Remus.

"I guess I'm just use to skating alone. Always have done it that way." Felicity said as she turned around to face him after skating again a bit. To her surprise he had changed his outfit and of course, it was on fire. How it wasn't melting the ice she wasn't sure. But he was a god, he must have some power over clothes and their ability to melt. After all, he does drive the sun. She couldn't help but smile at him then. She had never skated with someone watching, forgetting actually skating with someone. Their she was an amateur in the field. You had to put a lot of trust in the other person because it could be dangerous with the skates involved.

But, it was a good thing she trusted him. She grabbed her hand and noticed the slight chill on her arms, looking down to see that her outfit had changed. Felicity couldn't help but let out a happy laugh. "You just like to make a show, don't you. Well, just to let you know, you hold the honor of being the first person I have ever ice skated with so if you get hurt, I'm sorry." She said, apologizing ahead of time. She wasn't actually really excited to see how well she did in pair work. Maybe if she didn't suck too bad she could convince Remus to learn. Though, the thought of a stern son of Mars ice skating was a funny thought. Rather the funny thoughts then have the memories of what had happened to her within the facility she had been stuck in. She remembered sometimes not even knowing if it was day or night. It was horrible. She just felt stuck in a random time fit between emotional, physical, and mental torture.
