Time for a Sundae [Mikayla]

Yeah it was cold, but it was always time for ice cream, Neptune thought as he grabbed two sundaes from a shop in New Rome. He knew exactly what to get his little girl Mika. "And lots of sprinkles please." He said as the guy behind the counter put two spoons of the condiment on top of the hot fudge and the cherry on top. Paying for the two items, Neptune then grabbed a couple of napkins and some drinks. His Mika was probably at the Lake. That's where she was whenever he asked around. It should have been a no brainer. This was his daughter after all. She was drawn to water just like he was. The water was such a safe haven for him and his children. HE was making sure that he was going to spend time with his children, his little girls, before they got bigger. Next thing you knew, they were getting married and having little guppies on their own. Ugh no, he thought about being a grandpa. Not that it was a bad thing, he loved both Julia and Ronan dearly. Julia being the more favored one as Ronan was a good and strong Roman. He didn't need him at all. HE didn't know how his apperance would effect the poor boy. He had been through so much already.

Neptune set foot on the green grass that surrounded the lake. The Ceres kids must have really been taking care of this place, he thought with a bemused look on his face. The trees and the grass, the bushes, everything was such a luscious green color. He could appreciate such beauty. He then frowned as he watched a camper toss something into the lake. That was too far, stupid litter bug, Neptune twitched his nose and a long and wet tendril of water snaked it's way around the kids leg, pulling him with a shout into the cold water before jettisoning him and the piece of trash out. Neptune laughed as the boy landed in a heap in the bush. Serves him right, Neptune thought with a snort of derision. He plopped on the ground, kicking off his flip flops and sticking his feet in the water as he waited for his daughter. Mika was such a sweet heart. But one of those days her forgiving nature was going to get her in trouble. HE just knew it. He couldn't believe she was dating a boy from her cohort. Some son of Trivia. Not that he had anything against the goddess, but ugh. He thought with a frown as he licked at his own sundae.

"Hey you, yeah you come here." He said as he motioned for a camper to come over to him. "You know Mikayla? Third cohort?" He asked. The boy nodded, confirming that he did know his daughter. "Go find her and bring her to me, tell her her dad's waiting at the lake. And if she gets here before the ice cream melts, you get a reward." Neptune said. The boy gave a grin, running off faster than he had ever seen. Probably a child of mercury, or maybe apollo, they were bother fairly quick.

Today, today was one of the best days she had spent after training. She was sitting in the amphitheater playing her violin. She had copied down the notes to Lilith’s songs as she hummed them while they were in the hospital relaxing. A smile was on her lips as she played through the last of the songs. Once she thought she had them down she stood up and started playing from the beginning again. This was the point in time when her OCD kicked in and she had to make sure that the song was perfect and she didn’t miss any of the notes.

When the boy came running into the amphitheater she looked up as she continued to let her bow dance across the strings. By the time her song was done he was close enough to the stage. “Can I help you with something?” He nodded and told her that there was someone waiting for her at the lake. She raised an eyebrow and when he mentioned an older man with ice cream her eyes widened. No! It couldn’t be! She packed up her violin and took off towards the lake.

Navigating through places she came running to the lake and smiled as she saw him sitting there with his feet in the water. Slowly she made her way towards him then stopped to take her shoes and socks off. Oh she couldn’t believe he was here! Maybe he was here to see Clare and talk about her wedding? No, he was here to see her, his youngest. You know, the one who always got their way because they were youngest and pulled the cute card.

She slowly approached the Lord of the Seas and placed her violin case down and sat next to him. Her feet slipped into the water and she felt a surge of energy hit her replenishing the energy she’d lost by her jog over here. Turning she looked up to him, she could see the resemblance in him from the stories that her mum had told her. “G’day daddy.” She grinned up at him, sadly her French accent had mostly lost out and the Australian won out from all the time she and her mother spent there.

Noticing that he was holding two things of ice cream and one happened to be her favorite she looked at it holding back her urge to take it. Curiosity always killed the cat and that was what was probably about to happen to her. “Is that one for me?” Yes, the boy had gotten her here before the ice cream even had a chance to melt. Finally she was getting to spend some time with her daddy!

Was he quite excited to see his little Sprinkles? Yes, yes he was. Neptune loved his kids, his grandkids, oh gods did he love them. He felt bad that he cheated on his wife but at the same time, his kids made him feel like the best person in the world. He certainly didn't have a problem with spouting about how great his kids were and how much better they were than Jupiter or Pluto's. His kids weren't crazy psychotic sociopaths. But that was his amazing luck and was a fact that Pluto was a bit crazy and it seemed to rub off on his offspring, it wasn't a good thing on this count. He ran a hand over the top of his head, his fingers combing through the semi-fluffy blond hair that topped his head in mortal form. The cool air had even brushed against the back of his neck, he raised hie eyes skyward as he watched Apollo's handy work ride across the sky at this particular beautiful day. He hummed to himself as he waited for the return of the boy he had sent after his favorite youngest daughter. A couple of denarii and sand dollars jangled in his pocket as he waited, wanting to hope that he could give it to the boy if he didn't let the ice cream melt.

Ahh there she was. His youngest daughter. Mikayla was growing into such a beautiful woman. Smiling up at her, he extended the hand that held her favorite ice cream with all of her favorite toppings dumped on it like some sort of hodge podege of ice cream that Picasso might have thrown together. He patted the grass beside him, then pulling out a pouch of denarii and tossing it to the boy that had so expertly delivered the message. "The favorite things for my favorite youngest daughter." HE said, flashing her a grin as he then licked the top of his own ice cream cone. Mikayla had her mother's eyes, her mother's smile, Neptune could admit that he had deeply loved each woman he had a child with, he remembered them all, and at the same time, he loved his own wife deeply. "Practicing training today? Is that little kid giving you problems again? Do I need to turn lance into a tuna?" Neptune said with a wink of his eye and a grin on his face as he tossed his cherry up in the air and caught it in his mouth, licking his lips as some hot fudge syrup got on the corner of his mouth. "Whoops." He said, feeling like a big goofball.

When she reached the lake she couldn’t help but smile. Now that Jupiter had lifted the ban the Gods were all able to see their children a lot more and that meant that Mikayla was finally able to see her father now. Well she would be able to see him a lot more! It was nice, the one person she always grew up wanting to know and now here he was. How was she supposed to not be excited about it? He was her father after all! The one person she took after the most in this world. Yes she took after her mother in looks but she took after him in everything else. She was a child of the sea and belonged to the sea, that was how she took after him. Well, then again the hilarity of that was he was the God of the Sea.

Taking the ice cream she sat down next to him and laughed. “I’m you’re only youngest daughter.” Her eyes widened a little and she paled for half a second. “Unless this is your way of telling Clare and I we’re going to have another sister?” Oh no, no no no no no! That would not be good at all! She didn’t want a younger sibling right now! She was almost fully-grown and it would be impossible to enjoy spending time with a younger sister. “You’re not having another kid, right?” Unless it was a God kid then she was fine, she’d still be the youngest and most awesome!

She took a scoop of her ice cream and sighed in content, he really did know her! Chocolate chip cookie dough with gummy bears and sprinkles on top. This was the life! When he asked about her training she nodded her head. “Yeah, I’ve gotten a lot better at fighting and I’m relying less on my powers these days. Though there’s nothing better than making an earthquake under your opponent and freaking them out.” She had gotten so much better and she was enjoying it, she was finally a true Roman now able to defend herself and attack without needing to worry. Sure it still killed her a little inside when she had to think about cutting someone down but she knew that she could do something about it after the battle was over. “Nope, Lance isn’t bothering me anymore right now. Though he has gotten better and the early morning training sessions are getting awesome. It’s nice showing the others in third what to do, at least the newbies in the cohort.” She lets out a giggle and thinks about it. “Though if you make him a tuna we can put him in the aquarium and see him swim every day.” Now that would be pretty funny to see.

Watching him throw up the cherry and catch it she couldn’t help but applaud him. Yes, he was her father, he was goofy but hey, he was family and it was awesome. Besides who else had a father like this? It’s not like they could keep the ocean from doing what it does best. “You got a little something on your cheek.” She laughs as she takes some of her ice cream and swipes it on his nose. “Whoops, and your nose too.” Uh oh, this had the looks of becoming an all out ice cream food war.
