Hours where spent, perhaps not all at once and certainly not without a few stops in between for chatting with people, but Miyuki finally found the perfect place to put her business. Just a small place, a bed and breakfast that happened to serve food all day. She'd have two times of the day someone could stay. The first would be an evening stay and a morning breakfast, the second would be a day time room and dinner. Discounts would be available the longer one stayed to a certain point. Breakfast and Lunch would be smaller quicker meals, something like sandwiches, or pancakes and eggs. Dinner would hopefully be what everyone looked forward to. Stews that had sit all day long, roasts and the gravy made from their drippings. You could get just a plate, or what she hoped would catch on was getting a tables worth of food, and people, together. A whole big dinner to have with friends and family. There would be cohort nights where anyone who'd been in that cohort could get a discount. Five week days, and five cohorts. It worked out perfectly.
The area she'd bought was still being treated and smoothed out for her three story building, but she was too excited to sit still in Liam's home. Still staying with her friend until she could have her own room at the inn. Now she was looking through many different kinds of stores for ways to decorate her new place. New Rome had a decent selection of fabric and wood that she could choose from to have someone build anything for her, but not all she would have wanted. It had to be perfect. Going to someone with an idea of what you wanted was always a better idea, and if she found the colors out here first then no doubt those in New Rome could find better quality. San Francisco was a port town, and a very good one at that, but Romans had their ways.
With several little booklets of colors, fabrics, and anything else she could possibly need to look at, the small black haired beauty gave a soft plop into a bench. Sun filtered down through the leaves onto the park bench and she simply let her head lull backward. The tiredness in her muscles slowly easing out in the warm sun. Slipping her feet a little out of her high heels, she stretched her ankles. Slowly letting them fall off to the sides, fresh spring grass under her feet. The day was good.
