The city of lights was a beautiful place, and somewhere Miyuki wasn't exactly supposed to be. Her father had told her not to go there, that there were bad people and bad places. The normal father spiel she supposed. Her father was a wonderful man, there was no doubt in her mind that he was the best, but sometimes he was over protective. The clothes she normally wore seemed to be too revealing for him, truth be told anything less than a winter parka with matching puffy pants seemed to be less than appropriate for her to wear. Winter was over, thank the gods, and spring was in full bloom. From the weather forecast she got from a friend it was supposed to be a nice sunny weekend in Nevada, and he was much more reliable than some stuffy mortal news weatherman. Not that Miyuki purposefully looked down on mortals, or muggles as she had come to call them because who doesn't love Harry Potter? She simply thought that as a child of an immortal demigods where better. Okay so she was looking down on them, but she knew they were amazing in their own rights. Smart, strong people full of ambition. Just not as good as a demigod.
A small sound escaped the small Asian as a gust of wind caught her by surprise, quick hands moved to hold her skirt down. She stood in place a moment waiting for whomever was trying to lift her skirt to stop his insistent laughing. Perhaps not every instance good or ill belonged to an immortal, but those deities were more often in the world than some assumed. There are sprites and nymphs of course, and fauns that might cause trouble and mischief, but Miyuki thought of Beauty and the Beast. The peddler woman that no one would pay attention to, could that person be a god in disguise?
With a hand prepared to catch her skirt should it prove unruly again, and her other tugging along a suitcase, Miyuki traveled to a proper hotel. Something with good security, and a reputation for the lawful more than anything else. It was always easy to trap someone in rules and regulations, so good and bad reviews didn't matter much to her. Someone who kept their word? That was the best kind of business practice.
