The mess hall was full that day, maybe it was the bright sun or the heat outside, but campers tried to find a place to get some cooler sensation than the heat outside. Some campers went to the baths, looking for the comfort of the inner pool, but they forgot that usually that one was also warm, so it wouldn’t help much. Others went to the lake, well the water of the lake was… cool, but the bright sun over their heads wouldn’t help them to cool off, but there were some that liked to be tanned and take some heat of the sun, mostly Apollo’s children, Vulcan’s too. Good thing that Julia knew August wouldn’t like that much heat and sun.

She finished a short drill with her cohort and then went to have a quick rinse, then she changed clothes and walked to the Mess Hall. August and her had talked about starting over again, Both of them trying to keep their fears and their insecurities behind and allow themselves to find love in each other. That was the reason why Julia and august were still in Camp, both of them decided to try again. If it didn’t work… well, Julia already had her plan of escape. She would go to San Francisco and board a ship that crossed the continent through Panama and then went to Europe.

She went to an empty love seat and waited for him. She was glad that Camp Jupiter still had the ancient way to seat and eat that her Rome had. She looked around and asked one of the nymphs to get her a goblet of juice and some fruit, then waited for August.

Bad news was awful. He stood stock still in the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus under the shadow of the enormous statue glaring out over the hill towards the legion. Before him on the altar laid the stuffing of his most recent victim. It had been a blue elephant with a little LA t-shirt on it. He shoved the ceremonial dagger moodily into its sheath at his belt and glared at the statue. “Thanks a lot. Some help.” He’d come here tentatively, after he had received a written message from Prometheus that it was a good time to ask the gods their thoughts. Apparently, Prometheus knew more than the gods and simply wasn’t telling. Wonderful. The Titan had seemed insistent, and that was worrisome, but the gods had nothing. As if a joke, all he’d gotten was that it would rain tomorrow. He swept the stuffing off the altar to the ground, deciding Jupiter could clean it up himself for all he cared. He gripped the altar with white knuckles and held back a growl. Then he looked to the stuffing on the floor and moaned. He should be a good steward, be thankful for his gift. He knelt and picked it all up and headed out of the temple to the rubbish bin that was chiefly used for this purpose, and dumped it in.

He checked his watch. She’d said ten til, right? So he had fifteen minutes still. He walked to New Rome since it was kind of on the way, giving Terminus a hard time before finally leaving his dagger there with the statue god, and went to a nice little shop that sold all sorts of odds and ends. He went to the kids section and picked up a cute little white bunny rabbit with purple ears and bought it. For anyone else, this would look strange, but he was the Augur and with that came the perks of not looking strange. He denied the bag and instead folded the receipt into his pocket and carefully pushed the rabbit into the little stuffed animal holder on his belt. Now certainly no one would question him. He headed back out of New Rome, grabbing the dagger on his way.

The walk to the legion Mess Hall was uneventful, which was good. Gave him plenty of time to ponder. Until he got to the Mess Hall and his stomach dropped to his toes. He checked his watch. Ten til. Yet there she was, already with food and drink. He paled. How long had she been here? He was an awful person, keeping her waiting! Oh no! He took a deep breath and approached with his head down. “I’m sorry for making you wait, Julia…” Gods, this was awkward and awful. Here he was trying to be a good… was he her boyfriend? He didn’t even know. He just knew he didn’t want to screw this up. “I’m really sorry. I, um… got you something. I swear it was just gift, but I guess it’s an apology now.” He unfastened the rabbit from his belt and held it out to her. He wasn’t sure if she already had a stuffed animal, or if she was even the type to want one, but now she had one.

Julia was sitting there, looking around when the aerial brought what she ordered just minutes ago. She thanked the nymph and then sipped from her juice. She looked around one more time and she couldn't believe he wasn't there! maybe he didn't want to be there! why would he want to? after all she was just a wakko comming from the past, a crazy one who had thought he was her past love! who would want to be with such kind of person?!

"That's mine you piece of Sh%&+!!"
Julia looked around and saw a 13 year old girl punching the nose of a 14 year old boy, only because she wanted to eat another piece of dessert! julia didn't understand what was going on, until she realized it. She was making everyone around to be in discord and that made them fight. that wasn't good, not to say it wasn't nice. so she breathed deeply and tried to calm down, to relax again. She looked into her palm and then closed her eyes.

"He's coming, there is nothing to worry about... you must stay calm Julia... just breath and stay calm."
She managed to think before she could really feel relaxing again. She opened her eyes slowly and saw how that girl was apologizing to the boy and even giving him the dessert dish. She smiled and continued sipping from her juice. Suddenly she heard someone approaching, she felt the struggle in him! she lifted her eyes and there he was. August was there with a stuffed bunny in his hands.

He was talking about not being there, about the bunny being a gift and he gave it to her. then apologies for not being there on time. He handed the bunny to her and then smiled widely at the bunny and then at him. it was a calm soothing smile. She held the bunny with a hand and then placed the other on his hand. she was trying to easy his discord. "It is a beautiful gift. I love bunnies." she said and pulled him gently down so he could have a seat too. "are you ok?"

August was a mess. He just was. He wasn’t used to anything that was going on lately. A girl being interested in him? Yeah, he thought before he’d go through rebirth a couple of times before he managed that. Not to mention he was interested in her back, or at least was pretty sure he was. It was hard to say. His first love. Of a person, that was. It could be argued that he first loved music. But music wasn’t a person; couldn’t love you back. Julia was different. Well, that was putting it lightly. She was ancient, but still looked and was young. She knew his past self in a way that no one else did. It was confusing. It was all confusing! His mind, her past, everything! He rubbed his temple as he walked as though it physically pained him to try to figure this stuff out.

He set his sights on the mess hall and paused as he entered to the sound of a fight a little ways off in there. Uh oh. He wasn’t good in a fight. Sure, he usually started verbal ones all the time, but right now he was trying to be on his best behavior for this meeting, date, whatever it was called. He hung at the door a moment until things seemed to quickly settle. The girl in question was actually apologizing. He wandered over to investigate.

And there she was. He swallowed hard and tried to act casual though obviously he was in trouble. Not actually in trouble, but in his own mind he sure was! He did his lame introduction and unhooked the stuffed rabbit from his belt, offering it over lamely. He was lame! But her reaction… It made it slightly more worth it. He hazarded a smile. “You like it?” He offered it over to her, feeling a little better about the whole thing. “I was thinking about taking you to help pick, but I didn’t want to ruin the surprise.” He sighed and took a seat across from her. “Gods can be jerks. One immortal tells me to ask them about a potential threat, something about him not being allowed to share it with mortals. So I go to do an augury and nothing. Well, unless you count that it’s going to rain tomorrow. Some help.” He glared at the sky as if to say he was personally ticked off at everyone who had the nerve to be immortal. Then a wind spirit whisked by and stopped there to take his order of blueberry pomegranate drink and some raspberries. As the air spirit hurried off, he sat back in his seat. “I truly am sorry. I probably would have made to too, if I didn’t get that for you, but I thought I had time. And, you know, wanted to get it.”
