Samantha was beyond thrilled. She woke up in the morning bright and early and showered and set to one last go over the apartment cleaning. Sure, she’d done a lot last night after work, but everything had to be perfect. Her mom was coming over. While she trusted her not to be picky about a speck of dust – all the same, she dusted like a maniac – she did want to impress her. Even if it was actually Felicity. This was really complicated. Trying to figure it out in her head was crazy. The same young woman she’d served coffee to all those days – peppermint mocha with a red velvet cupcake – was also her mother, Laverna. So the same person had memories of chatting at the fountain in the forum now about embarrassing girl stuff like a month ago… and comforting a six-year-old Cornelia in ancient Athens. Two totally different people, one a close friend, the other a close relative, and both were coming over today. Sometime. She hadn’t specified a time, just said come over whenever. Right now it was 10am. Something told her Felicity wouldn’t come over that early. Too long at this and she would get a monster migraine from splitting the two personalities. Poor Felicity, this had to be awful. She’d said in the coffee shop that being around Sam got her all mixed up. She’d just have to help her out as best she could.
It was still really early, so she left a note on the door that said she’d be right back, and headed out for some quick errands. She’d found a great cookie recipe and thought maybe that could be part of their day: making cookies! After all, wasn’t that a childhood staple or something? Cooking with mom? Or with a close female friend for that matter. So cooking now would be really like killing two birds. She came back after getting the ingredients and put everything away then got to work on an early lunch. An old salad mix popular in the Mediterranean area, which, considering that was where she was from, she was partial. She made enough for two, just in case. Though it ended up being for naught as she waited unilt 1pm and still nothing, so she ate on her own and read. It was no big deal really, she did it all the time. She was one of those people who liked alone time too. After all those years with the Hunters when you didn’t do anything alone, she had quickly learned that just chilling and reading in an apartment she didn’t share with a bunch of other preteen girls, was actually pretty nice. Of course, now she was getting more used to meals with Terry instead of just herself, which was also nice.

Notes: I left it open so Felicity could jump in whenever. Sam can occupy herself for hours, so… no pressure.
