Jason tapped his pen on the desk, repeatedly causing it to click, something he wouldn't do if his coworker was around. But it was late in the evening and Remus had left for the night, probably spending another night with Felicity. Not that Jason blamed the guy, he was eager himself to go home to Clare. It seemed odd, they both still had their rooms in here and all but they both practically lived in New Rome, though Jason was the only one officially doing so. But their bedrooms in the princpia did some in handy for an afternoon nap, or if they worked too late into the evening, like Jason was doing. He more than likely would be spending the night here, no matter how much he wanted to go home. The paperwork was just piling up on him and he wanted to get ahead.
So that was just what he was doing. He kept meaning to take a break and send a note to Clare. He heard a thump and looked down to see Aurum had decided to lie down instead of continue standing. Jason could always send one of the dogs to deliver a message, wouldn't be bad and of course if something bad happened he could just as easily call them back to his side. So that that was what he did, he scribbled a note to Clare letting her know what was going on and handed it to Aurum, who was not standing and waiting obediently before running off into the evening. If Clare was farther along in her pregnancy Jason would not dare to leave her alone for one evening. But considering it was just around a month since she told him the good news it didn't seem like that bad of a thing to do, didn't make him feel any less guilty though, he just needed to get the work done. Remus had been under stress like crazy the past couple of months and well, Jason just wanted to get them ahead so they had some breathing room.
So he leaned back in his chair and begin reading over a new report, ignoring the yawn that escaped his lips. The chair was beginning to feel extra comfy, that just meant that a cup of coffee would be needed soon.
