everyone started out a little i n s a n e - but we learned pretty quick how to fake it for the game - open • 601 • kek Against the stone of the ground, Aurora tread down the streets of the city, heels clicking in synch with each passing step she took. It felt good to back, back in Rome. She’d spent enough time in Sweden for her liking, and two years was a long enough time to be away. She had missed quite a lot on both sides of the family. The government was up to no good, and there was war. Not a good place for the Romans, she had left during a once patch of calm. Though, there was a lot she had missed, the place was still the same. The same Rome she loved, the Rome that always drew her back. Aurora was coming back, for a degree. She had begun schooling in Sweden, but her degree was to be finished in the college in the city of New Rome. It was Saturday, and Aurora had no weekend classes to fuss over today. The Daughter of Mars was perhaps overdue for some time to herself. With that, Aurora set her sights on a small place where perhaps she could get a drink. The lovely mid-afternoon caffeine crash was setting in, and things would likely end up less than well say the wrong person crossed her path. Maybe Terminus would have to go to the drastic of forcing her to clip her nails or wear flats. There were more uses for a sharpened fingernail and stiletto than one may have thought. Aurora entered the coffee shop, ordering herself a simple dark drip coffee. IT might have been slightly strange, but Aurora rarely had cream nor sugar in her coffee. She found it detracted from the flavor and intensity of the coffee. By now, caffeine had practically become her life source, the one thing that kept her alive and breathing under the beating California sun. Definately a different environment than what she had been used to after two years. At least this time she could speak more English, fluent in the language by immersion. Aurora’s outfit consisted of a short-sleeved navy blue light button down shirt, cuffed at the elbows, capri pants, a pair of aviator sunglasses, and black heels. Even though she was just going for coffee, Aurora found looking nice to be a quite important ordeal. That was no excuse for poor presentation. She was not a child, nor did she dress as if she were a rather sloppy one. The platinum haired Swede pushed her sunglasses up on her nose, as they had been slipping ever so slightly. Her pale blue eyes were usually covered up with sunglasses, even when indoors. Strange, and slightly suspicious, though it wasn’t like she was about to pull a gun from a trenchcoat. If she had a gun, Terminus would have confiscating it long ago… The Daughter of Mars was slightly uneasy being so separated from her weapons, but she was equal to anyone else in the city, no weapons were allowed. Suitors beware, the Swede had quite a powerful roundhouse kick. Aurora took a sip from her coffee, eyes turning slightly as to check out the nearest scenery. She hadn’t encountered someone in a long while, so the sight of someone so close to her was a bit unexpected. “Hm?”, Aurora said, leaning back slightly. “Hello?...”, That was the right word, was it? Hopefully. Gods, she was far more eloquent in her native tongue, even her German was far better than what she made with English. Oh well, it would have to do, even with her incredibly thick accent. |
