Life thus far had been hard. He was working off his debt, though it was a struggle. There was something that possibly left it's scar around him, Liam doubted that he would ever actually be alright, that he would be someone that could be trusted. No, Liam knew that he could not be trusted. They knew, the people knew what he had done and he didn't blame them for the looks that they had given him, keep the small children away from him. He's a monster, he'll eat the children. That's the whispers that he heard. They bothered him, but he didn't blame them, he didn't hurt him in the least. It was simply what was to happen when someone like him was to be rehabilitated.
He had been learning how to read. A skill that had been forsaken by his handlers and trainers. Unlike speaking, he hadn't found much in the way to teach him. Words were foreign, any written language was little more than marks on the paper. It was stupid. But he loved the books anyways. He particularly liked the ones that had pictures. It didn't matter which pictures they were but the ones he liked the best had pictures of people. But the books here were different, not many of them had pictures. These had mostly words. He wanted to take them all, read them all. But right now, he was clueless as to how to acomplish such a feat.
Reaching upwards, he looked at the book he had chosen. It was a book of American history. It was smaller than the other history books and he felt as if he could tackle a book like this instead of one of the massive books that had the word Rome written across it. He knew that word, Rome. So he took that book and sat down at a table in a corner where no one else was sitting, where he didn't bother anyone else with his reading. Miyuki had been trying to teach him how to read. But she was gone now. He would do it himself. He opened up the book to the first chapter and it looked as if the book had a decent amount of pictures going on. He'd have an easier time telling what was going on in the book.
