everyone started out a little i n s a n e - but we learned pretty quick how to fake it for the game - open • 508 • bby Aurora had left her weapons back at Camp jupiter, seeing as they were not allowed into the city. Even though she could technically use nearly all weapons with decent proficiency, Aurora wasn’t all too fond of using weapons that were not her own. They didn’t all feel right, in a way. Not the same balance and technique used by her own sword. Her sword was nothing special, just a thin sword of Imperial Gold. It was similar to the basic gladius, but the blade was thinner, less wide than the typical Roman counterpart. Aurora opted for this weapon because it allowed her a more precise and quick strike. No matter how strong your enemy was, even milliseconds mattered on the battlefield. A millisecond could be the difference between a wound and a block, a kill or not. Aurora’s eyes were always open for that kind of deceptive trick, to false her out to get a strike in. Her eyes followed the blade at all times, nothing ever left her sight. Aurora’s hands settled on the handle of her blade, holding it lightly in the grasp of her palm and fingers wrapped around the end. No, it felt the same, just as it always had done, even if she was perhaps a tad rusty with her swordsmanship. Being in the mortal world didn’t offer nearly as many opportunities for training, though she did set herself up a mock-arena in the many acres of property that she and her family resided on. The mansion, although large, was not nearly as spacious as the piece of land it was built on. There was more than enough room for Aurora to set herself up a room to train and brush up on anything she learned with her ten years in the legion. Though the opportunities to train were few and far between. The simple answer was that Aurora hadn’t had nearly as much free time as she would have wished for. Her life in Sweden was busy, going between events too organization to typing up documents. A lot of work that drained the life and spare time from the Swedish demigod. Being back in Rome was refreshing, and definitely a change of life from her home nation. When she was 10 years old and came to the Wolf House, her English skills were barely workable. She didn’t really communicate much, and she was okay with that. Aurora was always a homebody, even if she did occasionally have to play a pleasant face for a crowd or prospective investor. It certainly lacked it’s shine it had taken over the years Aurora kept it in perfect condition, she had even brought it with her to Sweden, while she was there. Though, when she was in the city, her weapons were not used, and it was definitely a change of lifestyle compared to the security that having her weapons around brought. Aurora took a lance around, before she began to sharpen her blade in the armory, not paying much attention or mind to her surroundings. |
