His burns had become better, he had been released from the infirmary, and Erich was rather eager to get back to doing what he did best. And what he did best was casing spells. He had been informed that he probably shouldn't be casting spells for a while, but he was going to do what his next favorite thing to do was. Hanging out, goofing off, loafing around, what ever have you. He had missed his sister, Rhiannon, and though they didn't see eye to eye most of the time, she was still his sister. He and Jess were closer than he and Rhiannon ever were. But he pushed that thought out of his mind as he hung upside down on the monkey bars. It was early in the morning, before most of the third cohort was even awake. He hadn't been back to see Mika since he had gotten out of the hospital and there was no telling what sort of lecture he was going to get from Ken. He just felt so embarrassed about being in the infirmary for something stupid. Something had spooked that Fire elemental, his binding circle wasn't strong enough to contain a spooked elemental. So now he had scar tissue across the other half where he didn't have the lightening bolt scar from the war. His shirt draped over his head as he hung upside down, letting the blood rush to his head.
The Austrian boy pulled himself up from the upside down position as he then sat on the bars. Off to one side, of course as to not get in anyones way, though there was hardly anyone out at nearly four in the morning. He didn't know why he was out here, why he felt as if he needed the peace and quiet that came with the morning. There was little noise, little sound that could be heard, save for his own breathing. He had been so mad, so distraught, so vulnerable that his powers had been taken from his, even if it was ever so briefly. Never again did he want that to happen. He had to be stronger, if not to protect himself, but he had to do it to protect Mika. He had been so reclusive. Erich probably wouldn't have been surprised if Mika had found someone else to care for. He was so stupid. Erich knew he wasn't good enough for her.
