He had been here before. The memory of the titan war and the trials that came afterwards. They were a nightmare, there were things that had been said and everyone was still hot blooded afterwards. Though if Ronan were to be honest, he didn't Know what he would have done in a similar situation. But now he was going to have to figure it out and fast. Praetor. He had been elevated to Praetor. Now him and Remus were in charge of running a camp that frankly till he had become centurion, Ronan really had no idea what he was doing. He accepted the offer to become praetor but inside he was freaking out. Did he really deserve to be a praetor? Well he worked hard and did the best he could to figure everything out as a centurion, him and Josh worked their tails off to get the fifth cohort back into shape. It had been hard, but everything they had worked for had done well. His cohort was blossoming into a great and strong unit. HE was proud of everyone. Jess, Josh, Marie, everyone was becoming stronger and he really cared about each and every one of them. Of course he would be checking back up on them from time to time. He wasn't about to let them go.
He was getting used to the click, click, clickings of Argentum as he was being followed by the silver and ruby eyed automaton dog. The first thing Ronan wanted to do was to take him apart and put him back together just to see if he worked. It turned out to be a bad idea, or at least that was what he decided. Ronan wasn't a son of Venus or anything but he tugged at the purple cape that was his new badge of office along with the eagle medallion. Argentum was pretty chill. That was a real word right? Chill? Ronan didn't care but he had stood there in the senate building looking around as he hadn't exactly had the chance the last time he was here but for the most part, he was really trying to keep his brain from freaking out. He knew what sort of expectations were expected of him. More paperwork, more things to do, more people to watch out for, and the constant inevitability of war. There was always a threat and since they were demi-gods and legacies, the threats were not just war, monsters and titans and gods it could always end up horribly for camp. There was a small sigh that escaped from his lips as he watched the crowds that seemingly were swamping the senate building. It must have been a field trip day or something for the kids in New Rome.
This was why he did everything he did. These kids that were looking in wonderment of the statues of the gods, children who had lost parents in the wars. New Rome, a place that was his home, the camp that was his home. He did all of this to protect his home. Ronan gave a sideways glance at Argentum as the dog sat beside him, waiting for him to move. It was crazy impressive how these dogs were. Not weapons, but allowed inside of New Rome. Ronan reached down and pat Argentum on the top of the head as he absentmindedly looked at the statue of his father. He wondered if his dad minded the prayers or if he was even paying attention at all.
