Paris, the city of lights. Well it could be the city of lights and love depending on who you wanted to ask. First of all this place was really far away from Olympus but that was fine with him. Secondly this was the only place in the world he knew Amelia would love more than anything. It was amazing to think about that, Amelia his wife. He was one of the few, if not only god who actually didn’t have children. That’s what happened when you were the god of honor. You wanted to do well by the woman that you had children with and didn’t want to go around having all these kids. That was the reason why he had waited, waited until he could find the perfect woman and then marry her.

This city was one she would do well in, being a child of Venus she could speak and understand French so there wasn’t need to worry about her not knowing the language. Today they were moving into their place and he needed to make sure that it was perfect. Everything here needed to be right so he could make sure there were no monster attacks while he was gone and Amelia was here by herself. That is what had taken him so long with this place; there were so many safeguards for it.

Once inside he checked on the second most important thing of all, a portal between here and Camp that Amelia could use. After he was fully satisfied with everything he rejoined Amelia and grinned, as he looked her and Yvette over. They were the two most important people in his life and he wanted them to be safe. “Are my girls ready to see our new place?” It was beautiful on the outside but once they got to the inside there was some redecorating that could happen. All the furniture right now was just for them to use. He trusted Amelia and her tastes and he wanted her to decorate their home how she wanted to. “Just remember, the furniture is not a permanent thing because I really do want you to decorate it how you want to. So we will be able to exchange things out as we go.”

Amelia stood in the doorway of the cozy Paris apartment with Yvette in her arms, who was having rather a grand time trying to tangle her mother’s hair… and succeeding. “Darling, some day you will understand what a horrible thing tangled hair is…” she spoke to the little girl, who only grinned back, assuming her mother had probably just told her she was adorable (which was what usually happened). Then the hair went in the mouth. Amelia sighed. “Darling, no. You can’t eat mommy’s hair. Come on.” She gently tugged the hair free and in a way only a mother can, juggled the child and finagled a Ziplock out of her shoulder bag and undid it, opening a delightful little toddler treat she’d found at the grocery store the other day. Banana flavored soft… well, imagine a Cheerio with more air puffed into it, shaped like a star, and tasting of ripe bananas. That was what this was. Yvette’s already bright eyes brightened a little more at the sight of her new favorite treat and her hands went for the bag. This was the reason Amelia put them in bags. They game in thick tubes normally, but she had a strong feeling based on her daughter’s handling of the bag that if she found the whole tube, she’d make herself sick to her stomach by finishing it off in one go. Now she only had ten stars to think about at once, a safe amount. And she did more than think about them. She dove her tiny hand into the bag and pulled out three, which she immediately started to fuss with in her odd toddler way, having to first inspect them, then shove them full-force into her mouth. Amelia smiled.

Then Honos, in his usual perfect timing, came over just as Yvette dropped a puff on the floor and the threat of tears began with squeaks and reaching desperately, which in turn made her a lot harder to hold. “Hold on, love, not quite ready. Would you mind?” She gave him her best puppy dog eyes.

Soon the three of them were inside and Yvette was happy again. Amelia looked around, turning in place. “My gods… Oh Honos, our own home! This is so perfect!” She used her free arm to hug him close and lean up to kiss him softly.

This home, it was going to be one of his wedding gifts to his new wife. Amelia, she was the most amazing woman he had ever met and he was happy to have her in his life. Okay, so he lied, he had two amazing woman in his life even if one of them was just a baby right now. Amelia and Yvette, he couldn’t see his life without them anymore. They had been part of him for so long now he enjoyed that they were with him all the time. Now he just needed to make sure he got all the other wedding gifts perfectly fine and ready. Like Yvette’s nursery! He needed to design that so he could make it perfect for her.

Once back outside he noticed the hard time that Yvette was giving her mom and he moved up close to them. “Little one, you shouldn’t give mommy this much trouble.” Watching the puff drop to the floor and Amelia he moved quickly and snatched the puff before it hit the floor. “Saved! Here you go sweetie.” Holding out his hand he held the puff out to Yvette who gladly took it. “That’s my girl.”

Inside the house he watched Amelia as she looked around. He did an amazing job if he could say so himself. “I remembered everything you said about what you wanted in a home and I did my best.” It wasn’t perfect but it was close to what she wanted. Slipping his arms around her he gently kissed her back feeling her lips on his. See, everything was perfect. When he leaned back he held out his arms. “Now why don’t you take a break and give me our sweet little one. This way you can look around and not have someone trying to tangle your hair.” Reaching in he quickly untangled the hair Yvette had tangled up. “She wouldn’t mind some bonding time with daddy will she?” By all means, Yvette was his daughter. She might not be his biologically but she was his.

Amelia looked up from the drastic situation when Honos came over (thank the gods). “Last time I was this happy to see you, I was wearing a wedding dress.” She laughed, teasing. The puff went for the floor and before Amelia could do more than get slightly wider eyes, it was in Honos’ hand. “How did you just do that?” She smiled and shook her head. “Just goes to show you’re a superhero.” Meanwhile the saved puff was feeling significantly unlucky as it was being totally and completely obliterated in Yvette’s mouth.

She went into the house and looked around in awe. “This is beyond amazing, Honos… it’s a dream!” Then he just had to go and make the moment all the better by kissing her. What was a girl to do with such a perfect husband? Then, as if he couldn’t be any better, he offered to take the squirmy child from her and call her their sweet little one, which all things considered, made Amelia’s heart swell a little. Most people judged her for her past. Honos embraced it and still thought her wonderful. “Oh, bless your heart.” Then he went and asked if Yvette would mind bonding time with her real dad (and by ‘real’ Amelia meant Honos), she laughed. “Are you kidding? She adores you almost as much as I do. Because, you know, equal would be impossible.” She winked. “But if you really need a test to prove it, here you are.” With that, she carefully handed over Yvette, who took to the change of hands fluidly and immediately (and momentarily) forgot her puffs and stared up at Honos’ face with a similar expression to when she saw something shiny. Then she decided she needed to find a way to play with daddy, who did not have long hair to tangle, but did have lips that made a funny fwip noise when she pulled and released (she’d discovered this last time) and she immediately tried to repeat the game.

Thankfully he was there to save the day and he was going to in just one second. “It wasn’t this morning like when I was this happy to see you?” He winks and then catches the puff as it fell. Oh little Yvette needed to be careful with these things. A smirk comes to his lips as he leans in close to Amelia. ”You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you.” You know, supreme deity with powers and all, this was just one of his little tricks that he had in store. “Well I’m only a superhero to two people right now you and Yvette.” He watched the little one as she popped the puff in her mouth and destroyed it, the poor thing was saved from destruction only to be destroyed in the end.

His eyes watched his wife as she walked into the house and he smiled. She was going to love this place; it was made just for them with Amelia’s tastes in mind. “I’m glad you love it darling. I wanted a house that you would love and well thankfully this is it. His eyes moved to Yvette and he couldn’t help but smile at the little brunette, she was perfect and he would never let her go. Jupiter can count this one out as his child. She might have his powers and bloodline but she was his daughter. “Well when she grows up she might love her father as much as you do. I mean she’s totally going to be a daddy’s girl and I’ll buy her anything she wants.” He could see it now, she was going to be so spoiled by him.

When she finally handed Yvette over he grinned and held her to him. Then she went and started to play with his lips like she did last time. He let out a laugh as she kept on playing. “Oh you’re enjoying yourself aren’t you?” Oh right, he needed to show her the nursery! “Come on, let’s go show mommy what daddy did for you.” He leads her into the nursery with all the toys and everything. “It’s a babies paradise in here. Everything she could ever want or need.

Amelia laughed and nudged him. Then he leaned in close and teased her with his secret. “Is that a challenge? Because I’ll take that challenge.” She smiled at his words. “Don’t talk nonsense. You’re a universal superhero. For all I know, you have your own spandex suit with cape stashed somewhere. Probably masquerade as some incredibly awesome hero when I’m not looking.”

She hugged little Yvette closer as she walked around, looking at everything. “How could I not love it? It’s fantastic!” She wandered over to the living room window and pulled the thin curtain aside with her free hand to look out. Yvette even seemed enchanted. “You can see the Tower from here!? This is amazing!” She turned to look over her shoulder at him as he spoke of Yvette. “Oh, I hope she is. Taking after you would be wonderful.”

She came back from the window at his request and handed Yvette over, and a smile immediately came to her face to see the scene. “I’d say that happy babbling she’s doing is certainly proof enough that she is having a grand old time.” She perked up a little. “What are you talking about?” She followed him curiously into the nursery, where she had to grab the door frame as she looked around. “Honos, I’m going to hazard a guess and say you are really excited about this being a dad thing,” she said half teasing. The room was exquisite. It kind of reminded her of the pictures of the nursery she had stayed in as a baby, but... Well, on the level only a god could reach. “Yep, definitely a daddy’s girl.”

Hearing her laugh was one of the best things in the world. As he leaned in closer he teased her lips with how close his were to hers. “Well I could be issuing a challenge.” His eyes lock with hers and he smirks. “Well before you accept any challenge I would think we should set up terms. Like what the winner gets and what happens to the loser.” His hand comes up and he gently strokes her cheek and thinks about it. “How did you know about my super suit? I thought I hid that thing well enough that no one would ever find it.” This was one of the things on the long list of reasons he loved Amelia, she was so fun to be around.

Keeping his eyes on her he made sure everything was perfect as she looked around their new home. “You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that you love it. I really want this place to be our paradise that we live in.” It was her home too and he wouldn’t mind her changing things to fit how she liked things. “I did listen to you and well I wanted to pick the best place for us to live, you deserve the best because you are the best.” Both of them did, his wife and daughter should have everything they ever wanted. As she looked over her shoulder to look at him he walked over to her and slipped his arms around her. “She will take after both of us.” She would be a mix of her parents.

Moving back to allow them to keep looking it wasn’t only until he motioned for her to bring Yvette over he took her in his arms and smiled playing with her. “She sure sounds like it, I’m hoping she loves it here as much as we do.” Paris was going to be their home and he was going to do everything in his powers to protect them both. “Well you have to promise not to get mad at what I did.” The nursery was something special to him, he was finally going to be a father and it would be to Yvette.

His eyes moved back to Amelia as she grabbed onto the door way and he grinned. “Well I told you I was excited to finally be a father and all. I figured this would be a great place to start.” Walking over to Amelia he took one of her hands in his as he supported Yvette up. “She already is a daddy’s girl.” He gives her a wink then squeezes her hand gently. “You’re not going to be mad she has me wrapped around her finger too, right?” Her mother sure did and he was fine with that too.

Amelia flushed at how close he was, then nodded. “Good idea. However, a certain someone’s nearby presence made my mind all mushy so I can’t think.” She winked. And him brushing her cheek did not help matters. She smiled at his comment about his super suit. “Oh please, I know everything. I’ve been waiting for you to model it for me. Or invite me to be your damsel in distress. I could probably pull off a newspaper reporter pretty well, you know.”

She walked into the apartment and looked around. It was brilliant. Paradise was right. She was pretty sure Olympus had nothing on this place. Except, you know, probably bigger and not French. With statues of the guy she loathed. She nodded deftly. “Well, I think you did a wonderful job, darling.” The window view was stunning too, as if this place had room to get better, it somehow did. He was so sweet and thoughtful.

When he wanted to hold Yvette, her usually overprotective nature didn’t even hesitate. He was more her father than anyone, especially her biological father. She gladly handed the little girl to him. “And we’ll make sure every day is magical for her.” She smiled at the scene fondly. She knew she and Yvette were in good hands now. “Mad? Yeah right.” She followed him down the little hall to the door and was stunned yet again. It actually brought tears to her eyes. She had no idea what to say. She felt choked up. She took a shaky breath when he squeezed her hand and decided with no further thought needed to hug him and Yvette. “This makes me so happy, Honos,” she sniffed into his shirt as Yvette grabbed her hair, forcing her to talk to his chest, which she was kind of okay with. “She’s going to be so spoiled between the two of us. And of course I’m not mad. I’m beyond thrilled that you love her so dearly!” She nuzzled his shirt, which tugged a few hairs awkwardly, but she didn’t care. He was nice and warm and safe and happy and she was going to get as close to her dear family as she could.

Seeing her flush the way he did always made him smile, she was so pretty already and when she flushed it only added an extra specialness to her beauty. “Well I guess it’s okay if your mind is all mushy. That someone is very important to both of us.” He couldn’t help it, Yvette might not be his birth daughter but she was his daughter nonetheless. He loved that little girl with his whole heart, all most as much as he loved his wife. They were a package deal and he didn’t mind it at all. A gasp leaves his lips when she says she knew everything. “Well I guess my super secret identity is out now. At least I know you can keep it a secret.” Playful, see they made a great pair. Oh! Amelia as his news reporter! “You would be perfect to play the news reporter and damsel in distress roll!” Now this was going to be fun.

Their home, he had made sure to make it French themed because they were in France and this was going to be their home. They needed to fit in and Amelia would do that perfectly speaking fluent French thanks to her mother. “Thank you, but you are the true fashionista and I trust your judgment on if anything should be changed to fit the theme you want.” It was their home and not just his, they both had a say in how things went around here.

Seeing Amelia not hesitate to hand Yvette to him made him so happy, they were both her parents and he wanted her to be his family. No, she was his family no matter what anyone said. “We will, I know we will make her life special and she will love both of us so much. She’s the most special girl in the world.” That she was, she was a perfect angel for them. They just needed to be careful in case she started throwing electricity around the place.

As the tears came to her eyes when he showed her the room he crossed his fingers, he hoped those were tears of happiness. “You love it, right?” Even gods could be worried and this one was. He wanted this room to be perfect for their daughter. “Phew, you have no idea how happy that makes me to hear. You and Yvette being happy is all I really want.” His free arm slipped around Amelia to hold her to him as well a smile coming to his lips. “She is going to be spoiled, with us as parents she’s never going to want for anything.” Feeling her nuzzle in he leaned down and placed a kiss on the top of her head. “She is our daughter after all, so of course I’m going to love her, I love her just as much as I love you.”
