Kaylee looked around her. Of course she knew this place. Part of her was mortified to be back. Part of her thrilled. She hated visiting this spot on the edge of the wood where she had been murdered. But it was her link location between the worlds, so naturally it was where she came back through. This was her first ‘breath’ of the real live air in a long time. She took it in despite how it was not needed at all. She was dead. This spot proved it. She knelt to feel the grass between her fingers again. There was no grass in the Underworld. She couldn’t feel it properly, her being a spirit and it being solid. But it was nice. Her lightly wavy hair drifted down into her face and she smiled as she felt it block the sunshine from her face, not because it was blocking it, but because there was something to be blocked. She pushed the hair back and looked up at the clear sky. The kind of sky that told you it was cold if you could feel the chill. Instead, she sat down in the grass and laid back to stare up as a couple birds flew by. She was just happy to be back. She had a lot to do, both official and unofficial, but right now she just relished in being back.

Number one on her list: finding Nick and praying he still wanted her half as much as she wanted him.

Since Kaylee left Nick spent his days training the young ones, doing all of what he promised he would do when he was given the chance to be back to Camp after all what he did before and in war. He spent his days roaming the camp, roaming the city and the marble floor of the senate. He tried to keep himself ocupied, if not he would be a depresing lar or worse... a Mania ike that weird Michael he met not so long ago. He wondered what would have happened if he had died in a crazy mental state like that guy... would he also be a mania?

He tried not to think a lot of that, he might he could turn into one if he did so. Even more since he couldn't find Kaylee around. He knew that she was having a very bad moment in her after life, she felt she had no other meaning there, not after war finished. But he had tried to tell her that she was wrong, that kids needed her. Still... she didn't listen to him, and he was worried for her. He mingled withut noticing that he was going to the place where she died, the place where he found her mutilated body.

He had went down that path for a very long time, he knew it perfectly even before his death. He would never forget it,So he started going down that path, when he saw someone at the distance. same similar violetish glow around the delicate figure. But he didn't get surprised at the beginning. there were Lares in camp and the city. He got surprised when he saw that it wasn't just any Lar, but his Kaylee. He looked at her and smiled, then he chuckled and shook his head. "Kaylee?" he asked as he couldn't believe his eyes.

Kaylee closed her eyes and just listened to the sound of the world. The Underworld, or the part she’d been in, was quiet. Here there was life. Lots and lots of life. She was soaking it all in. Until she heard a voice. Him being a lar too, his footsteps made no noise. She turned abruptly, her eyes opening wide, and a smile crossing her face immediately. “Nick!” She took a deep an mostly unnecessary breath to steady herself and to keep herself from running to him and hugging him, but that only lasted one moment. She took one hesitant step, then just hurried to him as fast as she could and hugged him tightly. “Oh, Nick! I’m so sorry! I’ll never leave you again! Oh! It’s so good to see you!”

She pulled away and took his hands, looking at him fondly. “I will always be here, from here on out. But if you don’t want me around you, I understand. After… yeah. I can leave you alone. I just want you to know that I have missed you every minute.” She truly hoped that he wanted her around, but she could hardly imagine what his afterlife had been like lately. Probably thought she’d ditched him. What if he never wanted to see her again? What if he was angry with her? Well, she wouldn’t abandon the children here again, but she would respect his wishes and leave him alone. As long as she didn’t see his beautiful face, she could probably get by without too much agony… right? She honestly had no idea. But she would try. For him. If that was what he wanted.

Nick still couldn’t believe that Kaylee, his Kaylee was right there in front of him, he thought that she would simply let the pain and sorrow take her essence away and that she would vanish in thin air like the Little mermaid vanished within the sea foam. She spoke about how much she was sorry about leaving him alone for so long, she spoke about never leaving his side again and she hugged him tightly, He breathed deeply, which was unnecessary, but felt good to do such mortal movement. His violetish chest inflated with the movement that he did, then he moved his arms and surrounded her with them.

“Foolish girl… how could you ever think that I wouldn’t want you to be with me, by my side and spending our eternal after life together?!” He said as he still held her tightly in his arms. It was crazy, but he could smell her scent in her hair, he could feel her slender figure into his embrace, something that he thanked the gods he could still do. He kissed her temple and then broke the hug only to look into her eyes and smile as he always did with her, a bit cocky, a bit tender, a bit of his personal signature, his personal trade mark.

“Now, tell me, where have you been? I mean, I looked for you but… I couldn’t find you, I feared the worst.” He said rubbing his thumb against her cheek, then he smiled and kissed her forehead and then slowly he leaned to kiss her lips.

Kaylee loved her dear Nick so so much. He meant the world to her. She hugged him tightly and was not surprised when tears pricked her eyes out of happiness. They were here, together. Forever. He wanted her. She laughed a little when he called her foolish. He was the only one allowed to call her that. Ever. She snuggled into his arms. “I guess I am pretty silly. I’ll never doubt you again, my dear Nick. Not ever. We will be forever together and it will be the most wonderful eternity to ever exist!” He pulled away and they locked eyes and she felt like she could melt just looking into his lovely crystalline eyes. Even with the violet tinge of being a Lar, he looked divine. His golden hair looked like a halo. And he was glowing, so he could pull off divine appearances. His smile was perfect. Just how she remembered it, and she always felt it was just for her. His touch was soft and gentle and she wished she could stay in this moment forever: rediscovering love.

She blushed purple at his question. “It’s odd… I remember feeling very sad for a long time, maybe a month or so? I don’t know. Then everything was grey. I couldn’t really see anything. It was… scary. I didn’t know where I was. I didn’t know if I could ever get out. I went from nervous to terrified. Then I remembered you. Your smile. Your embrace. Everything seemed to click into place and I found myself in the graveyard. I don’t know how long I’d been gone, but… now I’m here. And I will fight to stay no matter what!” She smiled softly as he kissed her forehead. Then she gladly kissed him softly back when he leaned in. She wrapped her arms around his neck and basked in the happiness of their reunion.
