Walking down the streets, Lilith wondered if she had written down the adress in a god way or if she had messed it up. She hoped she had the good way, because she usually was really absentminded and lately it was even worst. She knew that Tessa lived in the city, she knew the adress, so she wanted to visit her friend. She wanted to check on her and also to give her a present.
She asked some people around to know if they could help her with the directions. then finally a good man told her about the street and a nice old lady told her about the number. Lilith thank them both and started walking in the right direction. Then she took her bottle of tea and drank from it, then continued walking until she got to the place where she thought Tessa lived. She smiled and knocked at the door. "Tessa?" she asked.
Tessa was still staying in the home that Gunnar had made for them, but he seemed very caught up in his school work. So much that he didn't talk to her. Didn't look at her. He seemed to avoid her at every turn. Still she could fake a smile, and force a laugh. Tessa was a beautiful liar, and becoming better everyday as her heart died little by little. It was like before. Working to get someone to notice her. To love her. Only this time the pain was fresh, and there was nothing else to distract her. Everything she did was to show him, to try and become better for him. This wasn't how it was supposed to be. She had thought she was better, that she could live normally now. She was wrong.
Every morning she woke up. Cooked, and cleaned. Hoping maybe Gunnar would be home, or that he would come home. That he would eat her homemade food and smile again. Part of her heart ached. The words her father told her came to mind, but with Gunnars face. His voice. The pain in her heart it made wasn't just from that, but the muscles of her heart where themselves weakening. There truly must be something wrong with her, at least that was what she thought.
Opening the door, Tessa had already put on her mask. Luckily Tessa didn't bruise easily, the fingers she had dug into her chest last night as she had something like a heart attack left no marks. “Lilith!” she said with a smile and enthusiasm. “Did you find it alright?”
Lilith looked at Tessa and smiled widely, but she could never really trust in that smile of hers. Tessa always smiled, she always was trying to help others to be well, but she hardly ever checked on herself. She hardly ever took good care of herself and that was something that Lilith had always been worried for her best friend. She looked at Tessa a bit more and then nodded at her question. It hadn’t been difficult to get to the house, but Lilith had never been good in following directions. She showed Tessa the paper with the directions to get to her house.
“Yes! I followed this, you know me. I’m the worse following directions but I finally got it!” she giggled and then put the paper into her bag. She was paler than before Tessa died, so maybe now she would look sick. She really was sick, but Lilith didn’t like to act like a sick woman, so she usually asked her body to do more than what it really could do. Some slight sweat drops onto her forehead and she had a slight bluish shade under her eyes and also on her lips. It was usually imperceptible at the sight of others, but for a doctor and in a close range of sight, it was really easy to notice it.
“So! this is the place!” She grinned trying to keep a nice cool moment, she didn’t want to talk about sad things so soon.
