Jace ambled up to the Senate House. He had no intentions, no can of spray paint in his pocket, no nuthin. He did have his key though, to the meager apartment he got on his own because Jake lived gods knew where. They needed more boy bonding time. He needed more bonding time period! He was so out of touch. He jiggled the knob. Nothing. A passerby gave him a funny look. “You supposed to be getting in there?” the woman said. Jace turned and didn’t miss a beat. He was a pro at lying, after all. This was fun to him. “I was just curious. I’m a huge fan of ancient architecture, so I’m geeking out about this building here and I just wanted to see how true they stayed inside you know?” The woman smiled. “Well, I can certainly understand that, young man. I’ll help you out. That’s the main entrance though, only open on special occasions or when there’s a trial. There is a guest entrance though that Quintus installed when he was praetor some thirty years ago, it’s always open and allows access to the legal library in the back. I think you can get into the main chamber through a hall though. Worth exploring. Right this way.” She headed off around the building and down a couple steps to a door and opened it for him. “There you are. Hope your curiosity finds it’s fill.”

Jace was on cloud nine. He followed the lady, keeping the grin from his face. “Gosh, thank you ma’am! This is exciting!” He went down the steps and through the door. “I’m sure it will! Thanks so much!” Now for some real fun. He set off into the depths of the Senate House somewhere below the trial hall in the labyrinth of file rooms and of course the little library she’d mentioned.

It had been so long since she had last seen her friends! It was annoying because something was going on and she wanted to know. With the fact that Reg seemed to be gone somewhere she had reverted back to her old self. Yeah, that guy you thought was innocent no; he was probably getting something for her. She was out today looking to cause some trouble, mischief, or what have you when she spotted Jace. Ah, an old friend of hers! It had been a while since she’d seen him and well now she wanted to go see how he was doing. That was, if he wanted to see her that was. They were failing at their mission and it was making her angry. This place was making them soft, weak, and pathetic! They needed to change that fast.

That was why she silently followed Jace to wherever it was that he was going to go. They needed to catch up and she felt like saying hello to one of her old friends. Maybe he wouldn’t mind her company these days. When she noticed that he was busy doing something else she used the shadows and snuck off so she was ahead of them. Leaning against a wall she placed a smirk on her lips and once he got near she looked up. “Well, well, well if it isn’t my old buddy Jace. Long time no see, how’re you doing?”
