Mattie liked the cold of the winter more than the blistering heat of the summer, which seemed to only be made worse by how ungodly hot California tended to get in the summer. Seriously, for whatever reason it was, Mattie disliked it. After all, he was Danish, and would have practically melted in the summer. The blonde boy tugged gently on the flag pattern scarf wrapped around his neck, and resisted the urge to bury his face within it’s red soft fabric. He could almost imagine the warm scent of sugar and home lingering to it in the first place. For sure, he was one of the older members of the legion, as in two years, perhaps even closer to one, he’d reach the age of retirement from service. He hadn’t really given much thought as to well, what he was going to do once he retired. He knew further schooling was out of the question, as he never possessed much of the intellect to complete an education.
The Dane took a sip from his coffee, a small sigh escaping his lips, which were warmed by the hot liquid swirling around in his cup. Unfortunately, it was past the prime Pumpkin Spice Latte dates. That was unfortunate for Mattie, as he craved the sweet drinks on the daily, and would have had to settle for vanilla latte instead. they were both good, but he could have drank the fall-themed drink year-round without little concern of getting bored of the same redundant flavors. Caffeine addiction was one of his problems, but really, how else was he supposed to have the energy to spend pestering the rest of the world? This coffee shop was his most frequented place, and he’d be there after most of his trainings, if he wasn’t too busy or occupied with anything else. There wasn’t much that went on the life of Mathias Densen, mostly passing through the motions and just trying to make sure that everyone was content, or at least content with him.
