This book was not improving. He tapped his chin with his pen as he slid the notebook back in front of him and jotted down some statistics he figured would be good to remember. “My kingdom for photographic memory…” he muttered as he slid the notebook back to the side and went back to tapping. His grandfather had photographic memory, but that didn’t mean he had it. He hadn’t even met his grandfather. He just knew stories. Apparently the guy had been really cool though. Shame he died when Noah was three.
Enough reliving the past. He did, though, decide he would write his father when he got done here. He read a few more motivational (yeah right) paragraphs and decided this would have to wait five minutes. He dropped his pen with a light clang on the metal table and went for the Elixir of Life otherwise known as coffee. It tasted divine. He was out on the patio of the little coffee shop that used to belong to a Bacchus guy – Terry something – and now belonged to some young kid he didn’t know the parentage of – Ben something. Either way, the crepe he was eating was sure to give him a happy little cavity that he did not mind in the least, and the coffee could pass for Olympian drink. Next time he’d have to bring Jill here. Today was leading up to some big races this weekend though, so her job was insanely busy right now. He had another hour and a half before his shift, so he just kind of did what he always did: study. Law school wouldn’t know what hit them once he was finally accepted! And that would happen this time. No questioning it. He’d pass that test so much they’d beg him to attend the Academia!
